You can me me as well. I am 40 with 5 kids (20, 11, 8, 6, 3).

I have always heard a very general rule of thumb is 5 foot = 100 lbs, then add 5lbs for every inch. So 5'5 = 125. This is very generalized and will of course vary with bone structure, age, etc. but it is a good place to start.

I am 5'4, and have10 lbs left to lose! I turn 40 this October and feel like age and height are working against me! Feel free to add me!

I can't believe that you are taking on P90X but you are worried that you can't handle Jillian! If you can handle P90X you can pretty much handle anything! My husband completed the whole series but I have been afraid to commit to it myself. The DVD's just sit there staring at me!!

Hello Angie from AZ here. I'm still around but never have a lot of time to post (though I love reading about everyone is doing). I am doing well. After a couple of rough weeks I seem to be back on track. I generally weigh-in on Saturdays and yesterday I was very happy to see that I have finally hit 140 - that means I am…

lost 1 lb. this week - not bad considering V-day and family BBQ!

Hello Everyone, I haven't posted in a while - I kind of melted down. I have suffered with post-partum depression with all of my kids and thought that maybe I had escaped it with my son (who is now 5mths). However, it became very clear a couple of weeks ago that I have not. Rather than doing what I know I can do to help…

I read some of the threads about Jillian’s comments. Here is my two cents: We live in an immediate gratification society, and I know that I, like many, have wanted to find a quick fix for weight loss. I start strong and I expect the scale to respond according to my expectations (which are high and admittedly unrealistic)…

Big congratulations to everyone sticking with it. I have found that it is super important to have mutiple measures of progress because sometimes the scale just isn't my friend. For me, in addition to weight, I track my measurments, fitting into goal clothes, and I have found the push-up challenge to be helpful. I was…

I am going to go through the whole program unashamed of my girl push-ups! Maybe once I reach 100 I will start again with plank. week 3 day 1 14 18 14 14 35 ---- total 95 This really does blow my mind. My initial test was 13 girl push-up!

So I know that the group weighs-in on Tuesday but I started MFP doing my weigh-ins on Saturday so here are my results: I lost 3 pounds this week - but more importanly I was able to button my goal jeans!! The aren't my final goal jeans but they are they next step. So this morning I went through all of the jeans at the top…

dsangel - I also am breastfeeding my 4.5 month old son and trying to lose weight. Right now he is solely breastfeeding and I try to keep my calories around 1600. This might be too low for some but I have never been a big eater and find it difficult to even get the 1600 (unless I give into the Burger King diet ). My…

I lost 1 lb and have met first mini-goal of reaching my pre-preg weight!

Phoenix69 - If you want, you can go back and edit your start weight to account for your initial weight loss. Just go to My Home >> Check-in >> click edit previous entries >> at the bottom of the page you can “add new entry.” Then just add your new start date/start weight. Hope this helps.

I would like to join too. Starting weight: 158 Weight today: 149 Goal weight: 125

Let's here it for progress!! I am on week 2 day 1 of the "I suck at push-ups but oh my goddness I am actually improving" challenge. 9 11 8 8 30 - what the @#$@ - I did 30!!
-
So I decided, as you did, to do Slim in 6 before taking on P90X. 3 workouts down - 33 to go!
-
I have a HRM and burned 419 today (med-high intensity) and 444 yesterday (high intensity) doing Ramp it up! I just started the series so I haven't done Burn it up yet. Hope this helps.

The only thing that made feel better about my pathetic results on the push-up assement (13 "girly")was that when taking the sit-up assesment I discovered that I am already able to do 200 sit-ups!
-
OK - I'm in! But I do belive that it will be "girly" push-ups for me.
-
tangontrouble, I am definetlly old enough for 5 kids - I am 37 - My girls are 17, 8, 5, 2.5 and our boy is 4 months. With all of my girls I waited soooo long to get back in shape, so I know how you all feel. Now that I know that we are done, I want to get my body back as soon as possible. My motivation: 20th HS reunion and…

That is why I am here too! (except that I just had #5). Good luck to you!
-
I ordered them and have only done the Start it up. My husband has done a round of P90X so I am trying to decide between doing the Slim in 6 or jumping right into P90X. I did P90X Core Synergistics today and it wasn't too terrible (all push up on knees, etc.) but my lower body is where I really need the most work. Any…

My daughter is also having a birthday on Saturday and I plan on eating a piece of cake but also getting in a harder workout to make up for it. But what do with all of the extra cake . . . maybe I will give it to my sister!
