I am down 1 lb! Not as much as last week but I am still very happy with the 1lb.
  • :drinker: Great job ladies! I'll let you know my progress on Thursday (My regular weigh in day). Slow and steady wins the prize right?
  • Slow and steady does win, but it also makes for an impatient pissy person during the race.
    Wait, maybe that's just me.
  • I am down .8. I wish it were more but I had a VERY lazy week!! I will try harder this week!

 Haha! That's hilarious! I weigh in at work (there's a few of us who are in this thing together). I weighed yesterday out of curiosity and was happy to see the results - kinda hoping for maybe another pound today? I know, it's silly to think of another pound lost, but I am hoping that even yesterday I had some residual bloating leftover from aunt flo's visit. A girl can wish! I will update later on when I get my official results!

Happy Tuesday! Congrats to not only those who've lost this week, but really... congrats to all of us who are still with this thing! Sticking it out and holding on to our goals - that's what matters! Love & stuff! :flowerforyou:

okay- the news: the scale has gone up by four pounds, and while I hate to see that:mad: , I also took measurements and saw that the biggest section around my tummy has gone down by two inches. I am about 5 1/2 weeks into this journey, and everyone says that what I'm seeing is the result of gaining muscle and that it is normal. I also am happy to report that I ran a 5K on Sunday, and I ran the whole time (38:43). So although the scale is not making me happy today, two lost inches and a big goal accomplished makes up for it!!
  • I haven't weighed in today, I will do that tonight. I did have a wonderful compliment this morning though. One of my coworkers looked at me and said "Wow, I haven't realized how small you are getting."
Congrats to everyone with their weight loss and the loss of inches!!! Have a great day!! :drinker:

amazing ladies on the weight loss (wheres mister go?) slow and steady thats my motto this time around be the tortise

i need to do my cardio first before i weigh in and i have some sad news to report the treadmill IS broken  and my wonderful father is doing his best to fix it it doesnt look like i can use it today  So like yesterday i am about to go out doors for my walk :drinker: unlike yesterday New york city is having a very big snow fall today and tonight and it is very heavy right now :noway: i happen to be the person who absolutely l loves loves snow  but i am not to thrilled about doing my 30 minute walk in it  wish me luck and hope i come back (although a lost toe and or finger or two that could show on the scale when i get on it after my walk for my weigh in right??? also how does one count walking up and downhill in snow???
  • MrsCallas -- For having a lazy week, .8 isn't bad in my book:bigsmile:

LuckyLeprechaun -- I agree the 2 (WOW) inches and a 5K sure make up for any changes on the scale!!! Be proud!

Mom2one -- if people at work are noticing a change after 7 pounds, just think how many heads will turn once you get to your goal!

Pepamint -- I saw on the news this morning you were supposed to get snow and I thought, oh no, just when she had a good walk outside yesterday. I'm glad to hear you like the snow, have a good walk.

Big congratulations to everyone sticking with it. I have found that it is super important to have mutiple measures of progress because sometimes the scale just isn't my friend. For me, in addition to weight, I track my measurments, fitting into goal clothes, and I have found the push-up challenge to be helpful. I was wondering what other measuments that you all use to make you feel better and stay committed when you want to throw the scale out the window.

I DID IT :drinker: my face was frozen (until i came in the house and it was on fire from walking) but i did it 34 minutes up and down hill outside in the snow (NYC) :drinker: and dont quote me but i like being outside it was a nice change of pace and the snow wasnt too bad (ok it is coming down pretty heavy) but it was nice change from the treadmill i may do it again fri my next excercise day but like i said dont quote me  and then i went on the scale and was totally nervouse...

    BUT:

2 MORE POUNDS LOST FOREVER - i am up to 6 pounds in 3 weeks :noway: i can not believe it i am so happy

it seems that 2 is my number and i dont have anything wrong with that :smooched:

i also realized (delayed might i add) that i have lost not 5 pounds but more than 5 pounds omg i can not believe it 6 pounds gone from my body forever I am the tortoise and embrace it cause slow and steady wins the race and this is one race i am for once going to finish :drinker:
  • I'm still Around.....Had to go check on the people working on my house this morning and I have had a busy day at work so far (that's what happens when you take a 3 day weekend!!!) I am exactly the same as I was last week. I'm Holding steady until the end of the week. I promise I'm going to more than make it up once my work kicks off this weight loss contest on Friday! If it weren't for the $500 prize i wouldn't even slow down. But like you all have noted, I'm going to start needing diapers pretty soon.

On that note we went to the Doc yesterday and she was 9 wks pregnant. Had a strong heartbeat of 175!! I'm excited!!

Okay, so my week's difference is 1 pound loss. Not great, but still a loss and I'm happy about it. I am going to buy a flexible measuring tape today, because I'm doing a bunch of weight training with the P90X program I'm doing, and I can already SEE a difference, and my clothes are fitting better. I hope that my weight will start really dropping after my "visit" this month is over, but I think it's important to know what my measurements are.

Congrats to everyone on their great progress this week... I can't wait to see everyone's posts later on today!!!

    Great job, Chica!!!!
  • Right back at 'cha!
  • Well, I'm reporting in (although pride says just hide in the background AGAIN this week!!) and
I didn't lose or gain. I am however, going to take measurements...reading the posts on the inches, etc...didn't really dawn on me to do that. So...yes, I am ready to throw the scale out the window, but before I do, I'll do some measurements and see if they BOTH (the scale AND the tape measure!!) have better things to say to me next Tuesday!! LOL!!

I have gotten compliments that others are noticing a difference, so I'll hang on to that as well!!

Congrats to everyone for their accomplishments this week....big or small...if you have made ONE positive change in your life to improve your health and well being...you've done well!!!

Go Mister-Sister...we all are rootin' for ya!!

    YEAH, down 2 #'s this morning....Zoe
  • OK so after a no loss week last week I was expecting the SOS..but I lost a pound. I'm also pissed off because I am not feeling well so I can't walk and I am not hungry at all. As my DD reported, our beloved treadmill has bitten the dust after over 18 years of service. It really owes me nothing. I got it as a gift from my DH after I gave birth to my last daughter. My friends were hysterical because they thought I should as for jewelery but nope...I wanted to lose the weight ASAP..I guess you can see where my problem is..OCD at the very worst when it comes to my weight. ..I am happy that I am at least losing something but I can't do much in the way of excercise when I have a migraine from hell and everything hurst me. I just wanted to post here because if I didn't my DD pepamint would flay my bottom big time.

One note..skinny pant actually made it up a bit higher and I have lost one inch on my waist. Other measurements to come when I feel better.

BTW it's snowing again. I did walk to the post office an back, which is about half a mile round trip, rather than driving so I guess it counts for something? How do you stay on a diet and excercise when you're feeling like warmed over baby poop? I'm afraid I'll slip back into my old habits.

Enough about mois..way to go everyone..whoo hoo....congrats everyone on your success and hang in there everyone whose week didn't go as anticipated..mister sister...no talk about lady bits from me...I've been neutered so to speek..so I guess you have someone else in your corner...OK amigo  ?
  • Sorry I haven't been posting much, been busy.

Yay for everyone who lost! =)

I'm down 1lb from last week, but I'm struggling to keep on track now (I just wanna eat everything! :noway: ). Wish me luck! :ohwell:
  • Hey girl...we've all been there!!! Keep your focus...remember those 28 pounds you've lost so far!!!
What an accomplishment!! Also...I love your other tag...about falling down!?!?! Just don't stay where you're at (wanting to eat everything) and you'll be back on track in no time!!

Good luck!! We're all here to support ya!!

    Good Morning everyone,

Sorry, I didn't weight in yesterday. I actually thought yesterday was Monday all day until my daughter asked after dinner if I was taking her to Basketball and then I realized it was Tuesday.

I have had a Great week. I am down 3lbs. I still am not consistent on the exercising but I think I am really getting the eating thing under control.

Hooray to everyone who has lost!

And no worries to those who did not! This is a new week and as I am learning it is all about baby, baby, baby stepps. Remember, "It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up."

Have a great week everyone. :flowerforyou:

Sorry I missed yesterday...working overnight is killing me. And my memory. So anyway, no loss to report this week.

Conratulations to everyone with their losses! It looks like everyone is doing so well :drinker: And Phoenix thanks for the quote, "Its not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up." This is my day to get back up!

Have a great day everybody! :flowerforyou:
  • Good Morning!!
Just wanted to drop in and say a big yeah to everyone:bigsmile: I don't know how many of you watched Biggest Loser last night, but Jillian had a few things to say that only she, in her blunt bordering flat out rude, could say. I think I saw something about it on another thread, I'll do some investigation work and bring you her quotes. It was kinda a slap in the face, but I guess we need that at one time or another.....brb.
  • Ok so I just read the thread about what Jillian said, a good read if you have a minute. It's under General and titled DId you hear what Jillian said? I watched the show and I must say, as bad as I don't want to hear it, she's right. (to summerize, she said that muscle doesn't weigh more than fat, and the scale doesn't lie, and the idea of losing inches and not pounds is stupid and don't candy coat it) That opened up a can of worms on that thread by the way. I do agree with her to a point. I think that she was addressing the people on the show and the fact is that when you have that much to loose, you lose fat first, and don't gain muscle right away. She was also saying, quit making excuses and stop sugar coating the truth -- you didn't lose any weight, now get over it, work harder and move on.
The inches vs. pounds is a huge can of worms right now I think. Everyone will hit a plateau, for a week, month or whatever, while hitting it, your clothes might fit differently,(which is a huge boost of self-esteem and a kick in the butt to keep going and it makes for great mini-goals as well) due to your body "reconfiguring" so ta speak, but the scale won't budge. I don't think this is a horrible thing, just don't let yourself make excuses and justifications. Be honest with yourself, and keep on with your goals. Eventually this too shall pass. I think Jillian's tough love is justified, those contestants are there for one thing only, to lose massive amounts of weight in a short time. Both trainers later said that 2 pounds a week is absolutely acceptable for someone at home to lose, given "life" gets in the way.
Here's my thought, take as you want or throw it away:wink: , let's not get into the excuse game (like Joelle on the show:grumble: ) just because the scale doesn't say what we want it to, doesn't mean we are failures, but no excuses.
I don't know if any of you did the 5 minutes extra cardio last week, but I think here's a new challenge. No Excuses. That may involve that moment when you don't want to go to the gym, or push those last couple of squats or power through that last half-mile -- No Excuses. Or when you really want those couple of chips, or little nibble of chocolate -- No Excuses. Before you work out to that DVD, put a piece of paper above the TV to remind you -- No Excuses. Slap it to the side of your water bottle you take to the gym or wherever -- No Excuses. Put it in the front of your mind all week -- No Excuses.

    * PS. please don't take this to sound as if I'm not including myself in this, trust me all those excuses up there are from me! Especially the chips:grumble: Good Luck to all, as Mister Sister puts it, do your best and forget the rest!
  • So, I weighed myself last night, and I haven't lost a pound!!! But, the good news is I didn't gain anything either  I know I slacked off on the exercise last week, so I plan to pick it back up this week!!! Congrats to everyone for the weight loss this week!! :drinker:
