  • How about apple slices dipped in pb or almond butter. Frozen banana slices, or frozen grapes. I have to steer clear of sweets most of the time and almost never eat boxed stuff or artificial sweeteners.
  • I'm always hungry, it seems. Lately, I've been drinking more almond milk to stave off hunger pangs. Low in calories, and you can add cinnamon, vanilla extract, and maple syrup or other flavorings. I either make my own or buy unsweetened. Of course, I have other snacks, but this helps me keep the calories down.
  • For something quick and easy, I make a stir fry with chicken tenders or strips. Sliced (not diced) onions, garlic, and spritz of olive oil spray. I use a mandolin to slice carrots and any other veg, such as zucchini. I add Bragg's Aminos or soy sauce. Serve with brown rice or in a brown rice wrap. I've used asparagus,…
  • I do a quick and dirty shepherds pie. I brown ground turkey with finely diced onions, carrots, garlic, and Bragg's Aminos or soy sauce. When all is cooked, I add peas. I microwave a potato, smash it, and add a scant dab of butter. Top with the meat mixture.
  • I cut up bananas in slices and freeze them. Then I eat them on top of Fage 0 percent yogurt. Another alternative is cooking blueberries with a little vanilla extract until thick. Refrigerate and use on top of yogurt like jam. I have a persistent sweet tooth also, and really have to keep trigger foods out of my reach.
  • Your post is so eloquent and by posting you are taking a proactive approach. I am struggling now and have to make important life decisions within the next two weeks. I feel stuck and depressed with no support. At times, I feel catatonic.
  • For savory: Coach's Oats, sea salt, touch of butter. After cooking, top with toasted walnuts. For sweet: Steel cut oats, almond milk, raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom. Top with toasted pecans.
  • Scrub, dice with skin on, saute in a small amount of butter, coconut oil, or olive oil with sea salt.
  • This is a problem for me, too. I have made a conscious effort to at least buy healthier versions, but the bingeing is such a defeating activity. Today I made a decision to get back on the horse once again. Being aware of the damage I'm doing to my health and psyche is paramount now.
  • I have dealt with bingeing on sweets for most of my life. I know it happens as a coping mechanism for stress. It definitely happens more when I'm tired (often). For me, I don't seem to be able to "have just a little". I do better when I eliminate sweets. Today I decided to get back on the horse and tackle this again. We…
  • I bought two BPA-free plastic water bottles. They are each 24 ounces and have a rubber grip on the outside. I keep one filled in the car and one in the house. They have a straw, which is my saving grace. I was having difficulty gulping down any decent amount until I got these. I also count green tea as water. I finally…
  • I like steel cut oats the best. I use 1/2 C. of almond milk (plain unsweetened) and 1/2 C. of water, cinnamon, and raisins. You can add vanilla if you choose. Bring to a boil and add the oats. I like eating it thick and prefer that texture. If you want it sweeter, I am finding organic pure maple syrup to be the best…

  • You seem like a really nice guy. I want to say give yourself a break-you are so young and it can be a confusing time as it is, let alone dealing with a new image. I agree, calculating everything I eat seems to take the joy out of eating. However, our eating habits got off course and now we are using this as a tool to get…
  • I make this, but use Ezekiel cinnamon raisin bread-delish!
  • Although I don't believe age defines us, it is great to see that we can do this at any age. I find it difficult to buy undies that fit-just didn't grow up in the thong generation-
  • What you have accomplished is amazing and I hope you feel as good as you look. I think you should change your moniker to something more fitting like "plateau buster"!
  • "do not try the walden farms peanut spread it tastes like *kitten*". This made me laugh-hilarious. For the record, PB is my weakness, too. And Nutella-fuggetaboutit-love the stuff. So I agree with the post of buying the little packets-Justin's is one brand I have tried-I actually used 1/2 a packet. I try to eat whole foods…
  • @enigrebua: I basically adapted the technique from howtothinkthin.com. I walk for 40 minutes in the morning and I notice and appreciate all the things in the environment around me. I don't listen to music. I listen to the birds in the trees. I notice the changes in the leaves or the people in the park. I let negative…
  • I walk to survive. I do a sort of walking meditation. I also take fish oil capsules. I used to eat sweets to cope with an abusive husband. That habit lingered far too long and is difficult to break. I wish you the best.
  • I can't believe I gained three pounds after one buffet meal. I doubled up on exercise the same day and only went over my day's total by 300 some calories. Sigh...
  • I live in Southern California and I am freezing lately. I go walking in gloves, a hoodie, and double socks. Everyone along my route comments on my being "bundled up". I have to carry a sweater everywhere i go. It won't deter me from my weight loss journey, though.
  • Thank you. Always looking for healthy recipes.
  • Thank you for posting such honest pics. You look amazing and give me hope.
  • I cut up my Halloween pumpkin and roasted it and the seeds. I am now making the soup.
