  • I like Naturally More Peanut butter from Wal-Mart...I also like grinding my own Almond Butter (very similar to PB and VERY yummy.) You can get it at any health food store near you (Sunflower, Sprouts, etc...)
  • I go over in sugar a lot too. What I monitor is whether I'm over in sugar from fruits or nonsense things like alcohol, ice cream, baked goods, etc...
  • Don't limit yourself to one grocery store. When you get the sale ads in the mail, go thru each one and mark down all sale items that you use. You'll have to make 2 or 3 different stops, but you'll save more! With a large family you might consider a membership to Sam's Club or Costco. They sell Peanut Butter in large…
  • Avocado & Apple Chicken Salad 2 cups cooked chicken or turkey breast 1 cup diced red apple 1/2 cup sliced celery 1/4 cup chopped pecans 1/2 cup fresh parsley (I used cilantro since I didn't have parsley) 1/4 cup chopped onion 1 1/2 Tbsp chopped mint leaves (I left this out since I didn't have it) 1 1/2 Tbsp chopped…
  • Wow. Thanks for all the responses! I will take your advice to heart. Thank you all for taking the time to write me. This place is awesome!
  • I'll snack on things like a banana with Naturally More Peanut Butter, or quinoa, or raw veggies, or a handful of nuts, or plain popcorn, or a glass of Almond Milk. I try not to eat my exercise calories, but lately I have been eating some of them.
  • If you make food from scratch all the time you won't have a problem keeping your sodium at the recommended level. It's when you start eating out and eating processed foods that come in a box, can or from the freezer section. 2500mg can add up SUPER fast!
  • My "Eat This, Not That" book says: Arby's Eat This: Arby's Melt, Roast Chicken Fillet Sandwich, Potato Cakes (2) Not This: Market Fresh Roast Turkey & Swiss, Roast Ham & Swiss Sandwich, Chopped Farmhouse Crispy Chicken Salad, Curly Fries (Small) Dairy Queen Eat This: All Beef Chili Cheese Dog, DQ Original Cheeseburger,…
  • I added Biggest Loser Cardio Max to my exercise tab. Since I burn an average of 10 calories per minute on the treadmill I put down 400 calories for the 40 minutes I do on the DVD. You'll need to adjust the number of calories burned for how many minutes you do on the DVD and for how many calories you burn on average. This…
  • How about this Avocado Green Goddess Dip/Dressing? 1 1/2 cups plain, fat free Greek Yogurt 1/2 cup low-fat Buttermilk 1/2 Medium Avocado 1 Tblsp chopped Basil 1 Tblsp chopped Cilantro 1 tsp Worcestireshire Sauce 1 tsp Dried Dill 1 tsp Ground Mustard 1 tsp Garlic Powder 1 tsp Onion Powder 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Mix in blender…
  • If you weigh yourself everyday I would stop. It is better for accuracy & for motivation if you just weigh yourself once a week. I see you just started myfitnesspal.com this month. The first few weeks are always an eye opener of what you really put in your mouth. Keep logging and finding better foods. Don't give up snacking…
  • This video DID make me cry! It was wonderful and so are you! God bless!
  • My Birthday is July 1st and my daughter's Birthday is July 2nd! And then it's July 4th! Talk about tons of temptations! On my Birthday I went out and had breakfast with everything I wanted. I had 1/2 cup of my favorite Baskin Robbins ice cream instead of cake. On my daughter's Birthday I had a small slice of her cake which…
  • When I need a lazy workout I get in the pool. It's cool and refreshing, it's different from my normal routine and low impact. Not to mention it's lots of fun! I'm not talking swimming 100 laps, just getting in and having a good time! Go to a local pool/park where you can ride on the slides (walking up those stairs multiple…
  • I use the Biggest Loser Cardio DVD and love it! It kicks my butt everytime! I also like how it has variety - Bob will teach you some yoga, Jillian has some fun cardio moves like Skaters, Tire Jumping, butt kicks, mountain climber, whew! I get tired just thinking about it!! And Kim is there to help you box. You can ask the…
  • I typically don't count them, but if I'm pulling the fridge out to clean behind it or cleaning kitchen cabinets going up and down the step stool a lot I sure do!
  • I have the same problem since I'm a night owl. I've recently learned that fruit is bad late at night since it contains high sugar and you don't want to eat anything heavy in carbs either. Nuts are supposed to give you a nice protein boost without the sugar & carbs. Or a healthy peanut butter with a few whole wheat crackers.
  • Mexican Turkey Burgers 1 (20 oz) package of extra lean ground turkey 1/4 cup chopped cilantro 1/4 cup diced red onion 1/4 cup diced red pepper (I used green) 1/3 cup diced mushrooms (yuck! I used diced tomatoes instead!) 1 tsp minced garlic Mix well in a bowl and grill the burgers for 3 minutes on each side or until no…
  • Don't go on a fad diet that lets you only eat this or only eat that. Go on a diet (I hate the word diet so let's call it a lifestyle change) where you eat everything in moderation. If you don't like oatmeal then don't make yourself eat it, find a substitute that you like. If you finally want to keep these pounds off…
  • I live at 120th & Colorado. I don't get away from my kids much tho so my exercise usually includes them. We like to visit parks and swim. I have a girl, 2 & boy 4. If you're interested you can "friend" me.
  • WOW! It's amazing what a huge difference 50 pounds can make! 50 pounds is my goal so this REALLY has me excited of what's to come! You look awesome! Keep it up!!
  • Find what works best for you and go with it. Personally I don't eliminate anything from my plate...everything in moderation! However, I'm the kind of person where I can eat just one brownie and be satisfied. My Dad says one bite is too much and the whole pan isn't enough! Everyone is different. I can't remember who said…
  • I know my friend wears two bras and she isn't that big up there, but she runs a lot! I heard that bras will be supportive longer if you don't put them in the dryer. I have done this faithfully for the past 6 months & it does work, but only for so long. It is definitely worth putting them aside after being washed!
  • Losing weight is not all about exercise. What you eat/don't eat is what helps you lose weight. Exercise is to help tone & strengthen things inside of you. If you stress too much you're gonna start gaining weight from all the stress! Have fun and work out because you enjoy it and it makes you feel good...not because some…
  • You don't have to work out for 2 hours every time. Even 20 minutes is a great help! When I don't feel like working out I tell myself to do just 5 minutes worth. Usually at the end of the 5 minutes I feel so good I keep going! Don't always wait until you're at home to exercise. Take a 20 minute walk during lunch or on one…
