  • I track because I'm trying to keep track of the sugars I'm eating. I know they're natural sugars (and I still don't know if I should worry if I go over in my sugars intake if its all in fruits and veggies) but I need to know what I'm taking in to try and make better choices.
  • Ad block!! :> I have zero ads.
  • I agree with the above poster. If you work out regularly and keep to your calories, you should be able to drop between 30-40 pounds easy. :) Just make mini goals for yourself because every pound is a victory. Even if you only lose 5 pounds, you'll still feel better!! I'm 20 pounds through a 70 pounds loss and already I can…
  • Do a little research. Find somewhere where you really feel comfortable. I was a member of LA Fitness but do you know how many times I went? Like twice. PERSONALLY (and this is my experience; I know people who love it there) I hated it. The trainers sucked. I felt like I was being shamed when they did workouts with me, they…
  • I was the same weight for nearly two and a half weeks. Frustrating? Just a little. It's finally dropping off but it was discouraging and I went nuts with cinching up exactly what I was eating, drinking ONLY water, changing my sleep schedule, and eating no sugar besides fruit. Even then, it didn't budge right away.
  • Not necessarily the truth but not all untrue. At my smallest, I was a D cup as well as one or two sizes smaller around. At the moment, I am a DD cup and I was threatening to go into bigger cups. :P So at least part of my bra size correlates to my weight. But mostly, it's genetics.
  • Weekly and at my gym. I don't have a scale at home because I know I'd be on it everyday and I'd probably be disappointed. If for some reason I feel like I've done a really great job and feel like I might have lost another pound or whatever, I'll weigh myself again. So two times a week, tops.
  • I feel like if you have to ask, and if things aren't just happening naturally, it's not meant to be. I've never been afraid to be the pursuer but I also liked to be pursued. And in all that, there had to be some sort of chemistry which usually propelled it forward naturally. This is my opinion, obviously. But my husband…
  • Great job! I'm going to add you on blogger...mine has the same name as I have here.
  • Don't be convinced then. I drink a shake either in the morning just because I can't force myself to eat in the morning (idk why) or after a workout. So far, everything seems to working just fine for me.
  • I wouldn't say stop eating for the day. It's up to YOU though to make the conscious choice to stop the cycle and get back on. Just remember, it's not a total loss when you fall off! One bad day will not ruin your weight loss goals! I've fallen off the wagon a few times and I just get back on, say, "I got this" and change…
  • I have found that since I have started exercising and watching what I eat, I more freely admit my weight...both starting and current. I don't know if it's because now I know that I'm doing something about it and so I am like, "YUP there it is" or what, but it's nice to just be free about my weight!
  • Where are you finding this "cut 500 calories"? Because 1200 calories is your deficit already. You've cut calories, to the tune of about 800 if 2000 is a regular day. There is no need to cut anymore. I guess I just don't understand where you've gotten that info SIMULTANEOUSLY. No need to cut on a deficit.
  • I have always been very picky about who I call my friends. As a result, I have a handful of girlfriends and every single one tells me that I'm doing great. I try to cheer them on too, because a few are also struggling with weight loss. I know I can text any one of them at any time and say, "I've lost x amount of pounds!"…
  • Not necessarily. It's really easy for stuff like that to kind of get lost in the mix unless you're face to face with it everyday. Don't even worry about it till your past the whole "liking him" stage and are actually in a real relationship.
  • I gave someone else the same advice I'm about to give you: Try to do shakes and smoothies. Use protein powder and other higher calorie ingredients like some natural peanut butter. You can get a few hundred calories in there and you're drinking it so it's a little easier than trying to shovel food down your throat, ya know?…
  • After a few weeks of changing my eating habits, I craved those types of foods less and less. That being said, you don't have to totally deprive yourself. A little treat here and there won't hurt!
  • No and she's actually trying to ask for advice so if you have some, give it. MY advice is to just try to incorporate little snacks in. Increase gradually. Someone posted a picture of peanut butter which actually isn't all that bad. I slather some all natural stuff on a slice of Dave's killer bread and I'm good to go.…
  • I do have cheat days but I usually only cheat for one meal and snack and that's it. It really depends on how I'm feeling. For example, it was that TOM and I had this killer craving for sea salt and vinegar potato chips. I had the same craving for two days so I caved and got a tiny bag of Tim's Cascades. They were delicious…
  • Shut the front door! That's amazing!
  • You both are right but you both are wrong. I never cooked either. My husband never got huffy about cooking all the time, but like yours, he likes lots of meat and potatoes and can eat pretty much whatever he pleases. But he is more encouraging to me about cooking than getting mad about it. So I try to cook sometimes and he…
  • Someone said it comes down to are YOU ready because you have to be ready. And I completely agree. I have been unhappy with my weight for years now. I cried about it and got down on myself about it and finally one day, I just reached my breaking point and said, "Today is that day." After nearly 4 YEARS of feeling like crap…
  • I was a huge night owl. Sometimes, I still am. But honestly, you just have to DO it. I started waking up earlier, even when I was tired, and just got through the day. I can get to sleep earlier now and wake up earlier and I feel a lot better, less lethargic.
  • As hard as it sounds, just get up and go. Do it. I have days exactly like that, where I sit around and dawdle and really don't want to go to the gym, but I always end up going and I always feel much better. There is a picture of a gym with a quote which is very true, something like, I never regret going but I will always…
  • For me it was just a matter of training myself. I fill up my bottle and drink it all and make sure I drink from it frequently. It's been a challenge but I'm drinking a little over 64 ounces a day now. I just worked my way up.
  • I was 22 when I got engaged and he was 31, he and I had been together for a year. Then a year and a half later (after one deployment to Iraq) we were married when I was 23 and he was 32 (our birthdays are three days apart). We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary last December and are still quite happy. :> I love…
  • I've been hanging onto the same 3 effin' pounds for two weeks now!! I cut soda out completely about a month and a half ago or so. Now it's just water, milk, and fresh juice. I do work out regularly, so I know that's helped me but these 3 pounds are holding me back! I need to lost 50 more after those ones, but once I do…
  • If they hurt, get another pair. It's not the weight, it's the shoe. Also, break 'em in. And like others have said, there is a lot to be said for a high end shoe. Not necessarily wallet-emptying but even Guess or a personal favorite, Marc Fisher, are really great choices. Go to a Nordstrom (or whatever equivalents you may…
  • For leaving notes in my notebooks telling me how proud he is of me and my progress. <3
  • Any workaround to TOM? Between the bloating and general craptasticness, my body has been hanging onto these 3 pesky pounds before I get down to my next mini-goal and I'm NOT happy about it.
