  • I just re-started running late last spring. I used an app on my iphone called 5k runner and I know it's available on other types of phones and devices as well. It's got a black and gold logo but I can't remeber who made it. The app is great because it takes you from couch to 5k in 8 weeks. It does it gradually and I was…
  • Don't let it control you. Stand up and grab hold of your life and when it slips, cause it will, just let it go and reposition your mind. Remeber it's a battle for all of us here. 200 pounds or 20 we still feel the same as we try to fight through it. You're here and interacting with all of us will make a difference. So grab…
  • Eric you are soooo right! I'm a single mom with an energetic dog and 2 kids ages 13 and 11. I work full-time nights as a paramedic and I'm attending grad school full-time for a master's degree in emergency management. I worked a 16 the other day, had my rear end handed to me by a crazy person and went 22 hours without…
  • You need to block out her negativity. She's on a path of destruction and just hasn't seen it yet. Good luck!
  • beer, wine and anything else I can't resist! Love my carbs! :))
  • If you feel it deep in the joint it sounds like bursitis. Hit the motrin/advil/ibuprofen or aleve 24/7 for a week minimum even if the pain goes away, don't stop taking the (NSAIDS) anti-inflamatories. Tylenol is not an anti-inflammatory. Stretching is always great when it is done correctly. Having an MRI is a great idea.…
  • I have a skinny foot but not a narrow shoe foot. I've been wearing Saucony for years now. A while back I thought I would try Nike again and they were awful. Nike use to run narrow but they now seem to run fairly wide. The cushioning seemed to wear out quickly in the Nike as compared to the same cost Saucony shoe. I think…
  • I'm 5'3'' and I started out around 135/137 ish. When I started my knees hurt and I felt bad all of the time. I did a running program that slowly took me from couch to 5k and then to 10k and now I'm headed for a half marathon. I'm now at 122 and have a small frame and would love to be at 118 but I'm a little stuck lately!…
  • You look incredible and very happy. Congrats on your hard work and weight loss!
  • LANCASTER!!!
  • My crappy schedule as a night shift medic, full-time school, single mother of 2 children are all things that mix up the picture. Let's not even start on the dumdums I deal with nightly.... All I can say is thank god I run by myself on a chase truck! Hear's to my 16 hour shift tonight! Yay me!!!
  • Check your salt intake, it may be causing you to retain water. I know people will tell you NOT to do this but I do... I do weigh myself everyday so I can see variation in my weight from things like eating too much salt. Weighing myself first thing in the mornnig everyday is something that for me also helped not only…
  • Snails going backwards move faster than me! 29 minutes for my last 5k. I'm going to attempt a half marathon in October. Wish me luck!
  • I was so glad to see this post but then so sad by the responses! Over the past month I have gone from eating a lot of animal protien (low carb, high protein) to drifting into vegetarianism more and more. I've done some vegan recipes and enjoyed it. I haven't pressured myself into doing it completely and that's probably why…
  • I say the same thing all the time! I try to remember it's how I feel and I can tell you that I feel sooooo much better. I can climb the steps in our house now without being winded and so many other things. I've stalled with my weightloss so I'm really now just trying to focus less on the number and the look and more on how…
  • I love beer but while we were in the Dominican Republic they didn't have any that were really great. They had Brahma that I loved but the resort seemed to run out of it everyday. I guess everyone else liked it too! One of the bar tenders made me a really great refreshing drink that I fell in love with. It's called a…
  • Personally I use to drink diet soda all of the time. I gave it up completely after reading a report that artificial sweeteners trigger, just like sugar, to crave more sugar. I really feel like it helped with my cravings and to shed weight. Haven't had a sip since April of this year.
  • I am a beer girl!!! I love all beer and I don't discriminate! My fiance and I go to beer festivals, brew our own beer and have been to different breweries to help brew beer for weekends. BUT... when I needed to shed close to 20 pounds this spring/summer I switched to Michelob Ultra. The biggest difference isn't so much the…

  • I don't discriminate, I love all beer! We have a local brewpub (Springhouse) that makes a heavenly chocolate stoudt!
  • I grew up and still live where the Amish are... Lancaster, Pa. I'm NOT AMISH!!
  • I say forget waxing and go have it lasered off! I had my bikini line (about $300 for 6 treatments plus 18 months of touch ups) done and my underarms (same cost). I couldn't be happier and rarely shave there. I am getting the legs done next. It's pricy but for the time and irratation I save it is totally worth it!
  • Thanks all! This just ticks me off because I've worn Saucony for years without problems and now they're so wide since the design change. It seems like every manufacuter is making shoes wider and wider. I use to wear Nike years ago but then they made them wider and wider and that's when I switched to Saucony. Never had a…
  • Feel free to add me! I've been doing MFP for a while but only recently got serious about it. I can say it works when you take it seriously! I've taken off 12 pounds and have more to go but I feel good in my own skin again!

  • I'm pretty sure I saw a snail pass me the other day!
  • I love my beer and I love all of the different kinds of beer! I switched from Miller Lite to Michelob Ultra though because of the carbs. I do notice a difference when I drink Miller Lite as opposed to Michelob Ultra, I pack on the weight faster! I can get away with drinking a few a week. Sunday my family gets together and…
  • I use a protein shake from GNC that's premade, 170 calories and with it I eat some fruit. Keeps me full until dinner time and doesn't give me the sugar crash! Plus, I barely have time to use the bathroom somedays so to grab a shake from the fridge and drink is easy! It's low carb too and I'm a carb addict so it helps to…
  • Add me, I can always use some support!
  • Try being accountable to someone other than yourself. I had about 20 pounds to lose and couldn't stop eating and was getting bigger. Then I had 25 pounds to lose and was fed up to say the least. I went to a doctor and we talked and at first I went back weekly and he asked that I show him everything that I ate. Now I'm due…
  • Add me, the more the merrier!
