  • I’ve been avoiding scales since my last weigh in, hopefully tomorrow is good news. I only missed 1 day for exercise, food intake has been ok but not quite where I want
  • This thread is full of good energy. It's a good feeling to be back here and motivated. I lost almost 60 lbs back in 2012 then put it all back on over 3=4 years as I sort of gave up. My relationship was going downhill and I avoided dealing with issues with food and watching TV. Exercise and eating healthy are so important…
  • Keep it going, It's a commitment and a lifestyle.
  • It is hard when only one person is trying to eat healthy and the other is not supporting. Keep communication open, honest and calm. Don't accuse or assume. Speak to how you feel.
  • I am searching topics and I was hoping somebody had replied to you. I too am having some trouble breathing but just when exert myself. when my heart rate gets to around 130. I can be in the 120s all day. I just had a stress test to eliminate blockages. I had a friend suggest Sarcoidosis but I am not sure if that is my…
  • Thanks for posting this. I am scheduling my stress test coming up and I was wondering what they were going to be looking for. I had a spike in my BP about 3 weeks ago and I have been exercising but finding it more and more difficult to exercise. So doc thinks something might be up with my heart. My EKG today was normal, I…
  • be patient but you can get stuff at rummage sales and they are like new for 10% of retail. Or a gallon of water weighs a little over 8 lbs, fill up some containers for weights if you need. I posted on my facebook page if anyone had weight they weren't using and got a pretty nice set for free from an old classmate. Another…
  • It is a life changing thing. It is a long road but keep taking the steps. I am supposed to be 165 pounds but I am shooting for 190. I am 5 11. Listen to your body, and don't let emotions or bad days wreck your plan. Remember your end goal and be true. Good luck and great job so far!
  • Elliptical is awesome and less jarring then other things. It was my main aerobic until I lost enough to be running again. To get more bang for your buck increase the resistance and incline. You really just need to get your heart rate where you want it and all aerobic is good.
  • The web MD link provide has a lot of things that seem to work too. Just getting that heart moving is awesome. http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/features/exercise-at-your-desk
  • If you are in a dr office at front desk you probably can't be very far from phone or take a lunch. So unless your Dr. closes for an hour a day for you to get some exercise in your only option is to get up early and exercise before work or add exercise to your commute by parking farther away or taking a bicycle all or part…
  • Just would like to pile on with the praise. You look pretty and confident in all your photos. The end photo you look pretty, confident, and ready to take on the world. Awesome job and way to stick to your goals. Keep it up!

  • I gave up most fruit because of my high glucose levels and when I told my cardiologist this he said I was nuts. I am back to fruit, but I do temper with a big serving of veggies mixed in. Get your blood levels tested at doctor and see where you are at and listen to your body. Congrats on the lifestyle change, YOU CAN DO…
  • What hard work and commitment. You were about 20 pounds heavier then I was when starting your journey. I was at 261 and my last weigh in was 222.8. My goal is to be 190. How excited you must be to be at the 200 pound barrier. Awesome job my friend, keep up your new healthy lifestyle! Way to be a good example for us. How…
  • How FUN! When I started MFP back in December my fastest mile was 12 minutes. I hit a 9 minute mile this past Sunday. Keep going and do what you love. :)
  • Listen to your body. For me I don't wait any time. I normally ride my bicycle to donate, and I laugh when they tell me no physical activity after. Now the first time I gave I drove and waited to see how my reaction was but then I slowly added movement and work after the next couple of times. I do dual red donations (where…
  • I saw one similar to mine but Can of tuna tablespoon of relish Light Italian Dressing. I started this to eliminate the mayonnaise but now I love it.
  • Very nice and inspiring. It is amazing how many of life's little problems start to disappear as we eat better and work out more. Way to go!
  • We both have rings that we gave each other. I always kid that we are a domestic partnership and we will have a commitment ceremony someday. We both had problem spouses in previous marriages that ended early in 2008. Our divorces both were finalized in 2009. Since we are done having kids we have both agreed that marriage…
  • Wow what some great advise. I really appreciate and love this community. Here are my resolves: * Don't get hung up on BMI *Talk with my GF so she understands my goals and concerns and let her know I understand how she feels. *Talk with my personal doctor and cardiologist (again) about my weight and lifestyle goals and see…
  • My BMI is 32.3 right now. I am still considered obese until I hit 210. :(
