I agree that it's time consuming and a lot to take in. We brew kombucha, soak, sprout, drink raw milk, use real fats, ferment veggies, make bone broths, and make cheese and yogurt from our raw milk, Otherwise, I'm still getting through it!

I have read it, and we incorporate a lot of it into our diet. We've loosely followed NT for quite a while, and I'd say it's definitely worth the read if you are looking to expand your real foods diet.

I have a bulging disc in my lower back, and have had to be really careful with my ab workouts. Crunches with my legs straight in the air, bicycles, planks, hanging leg lifts, and in and outs worked to strengthen my back enough to try other things out.

I do it. I do group classes, so I know plenty of basic rides, but sometimes I can't be there during classes. I find that I don't work as hard, but it's still a great workout. Go for it!

Holy crap! You look awesome!!! Great job. You deserve it!

That sounds about right to me. I wear a Polar too, and I feel it's pretty accurate. To get a higher burn, you need a higher heart rate.

I'm 5'4" and 127 pounds. Mine is around 19, but I think I look more like the 35% picture.

You've done amazing!! Thanks for motivating me to eat more :)

I'm not a fan of anything artificial and aspartame is just awful (IMO). We go as natural as possible with raw honey, succanat, occasional raw sugar or pure maple syrup. I'm not as concerned with artificials halting weight loss as damaging my body, so I avoid them like the plague.

It doesn't work for me at all and I've tried eating more, eating less, working out more, working out less, more water, eating back exercise calories, not eating back exercise calories. Regardless, I never lose a pound but just keep going...

I eat an organic, whole foods, mostly plant-based diet that I cook from scratch with the occasional homemade cupcake for sanity.

Yes. For me, I just can't lose anything. I tried low calorie, high calorie, tons of cardio, weights, it just won't budge. I'm blaming age. And beer :)

The less you weigh, the lower your caloric intake will be. I update with every weigh in, I'm just not sure how it will be maintained once I hit my goal and the number goes back up!

I toss them in smoothies, yogurt, muffins, and anything else I may bake.

I make and can my own ketchup using tomatoes, onion, peppers, vinegar and spices so I wouldn't consider it 'not real' at all!

We are a family of 3 and I spend roughly $400/month on basic foods which includes a produce delivery box and local dairy products (cheese, yogurt, milk) in winter and a CSA box that includes eggs in the summer. I shop at Trader Joes and Kroger but almost all of our meat comes from a local farm. I also buy bulk dry goods…

I'm 5'4" and 127 pounds. My BF% was recently 18-20% (varies, but on same machine at my gym). I'm pretty solid, but don't look muscular. I'd like to be a bit lower, I guess, because I'd like to look more defined.

I'm 5'4". Before I had my daughter and turned 30, my body loved 120. Now it loves 130 and 120 is my goal! I've been working hard for 3 months, using MFP for a month and the scale won't budge. I'm losing inches, but I'm starting to think it just won't happen!
-
I'm not sure of your age, but I felt like once I hit 30, carbs stick to me like glue. I don't see much results after 3 months, but just cut carbs finally in the last week and lost 2 pounds.

Dinners. Beans?

I need low carb vegetarian recipes!

I'm lifting 2-3 times a week, abs almost every day, and have had a trainer show me some different things to do. I need some patience!

Thank you for the input. I'm going to try to eat the calories and just keep working hard. I used to be able to get in shape so fast, but I think age is working against me here!
