I'm jumping in a little late, but better than never! Used to be on this board and fell away for a while. I need to do more to get healthy. I love the challenges. Goal: Eat < 50 carbs / day Exercise 4x30 minutes cardio / week Strength / PT 5x / week Yesterday I hit the last 2 :)

Lowering your carbs and balancing your electrolytes will completely eliminate migraine headaches. Forever. https://www.amazon.com/Fighting-Migraine-Epidemic-Complete-Migraines/dp/154697637X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1531154347&sr=8-1

Yeah, it was really easy to lose weight (and not even gain it) in my 30's. All those women who told me "just wait until you're 50 - that doughnut will go straight to your hips" were right. sadly. I do have better energy and I feel slimmer - even though my pants are liars and tell me I'm still the same size. [keep saying to…

6/13 plan it :) log it :) eat it :( :( :( I had a friend in town who I haven't seen in a while and we met at a brewery. I planned on one beer. A few beers later the nachos looked good. crap. Well back to the clean eating today!

One of my favorite videos. Yes I'm tracking everything - well the best I can. There was also an interesting podcast by Jason Fung (on his podcast site but I forget which episode). As I recall he mentions two things: one is that you will most likely lose fat in the reverse order you gained it. So your newest fat goes first…

My husband things my face is thinning. I do feel like I'm losing, but the scale disagrees.

plan it :) log it :) eat it :) I still haven't lost weight in a month :( I know its harder for 50yo women, but *kittens*. It seems everyone else is just shedding the pounds. I'll stay the course. I am testing ketones with a blood meter and am in ketosis. But I would really like to be one of the people who makes noticeable…

I'm not an expert, but I understand your body adapts to the ketones, so what you are describing would be normal. If you are staying around 20 carbs you are very most likely in ketosis. The only real way to tell is with a blood ketone meter. If you are staying at your weight goal it doesn't seem like you need to adjust your…

plan it :) log it :( eat it :( I went overboard with late night snacks. Darn those smokehouse almonds are good.

plan it :) log it :) eat it :) the chille rellenos were fantastic! A repeater for certain. Ate outside on the porch because the weather was so beautiful tonight!

There are low carb / keto gurus who say don't pay attention to calories. Eric Westman is one, Jason Fung is another. Keep your carbs low, protein moderate, and enough fat not to be hungry. Eat when you are truly hungry, don't eat when you aren't. Get plenty of salt. If you are trying to lose weight then don't intentionally…

Wild produce is hard here. I do have a small garden with lettuce producing, tomatoes, peas, raspberries later in summer. Wild onions, glacier lilies, columbine, berries when I can find them. Friends give us some elk and deer though!

plan it :) log it :) eat it :) jogged / walked 6k. I guess my muscles are not yet fat adapted. My legs felt like lead today.

Salmon and shrimp are both lean. Are you getting enough fat? Butter, nuts, etc
-
plan it :) log it :) eat it :) I didn't really feel like cooking, but the shrimp tacos were worth it.

I'm ordering right now. They look like a nice option to making oopsie bread all the time.
-
6/5 plan it :) log it :) eat it :) I've upped my carbs to about 35, so its easier to hit for the day. I can have a glass of wine or two and still hit my goal. More importantly I'm still staying in ketosis with the new limits. My blood sugar readings have come down over the past few months and are looking great too, and I…
-
plan it :) log it :) eat it :) also did a 6k jog.

I make the fathead crust, top with alfredo sauce, mushrooms, and cheese. Yummy! Between that crust and oopsie bread I don't feel like I miss bread.

6/1 - 6/3 I was out camping for the weekend. The flowers were beautiful. I did great with the eating and the exercise, but drank a few too many carbs around the campfire. I need to keep at it today! So I'm planning a morning jog.

5/31 plan it :) log it :| eat it :( I went over carbs a bit yesterday. Not too bad, still in ketosis today.
-
My goal is to stay in ketosis - even though I have a few party days planned. Making my IF schedule more regular is my secondary goal. Let's do this!
-
instead of salad for lunch I get chicken thighs from the grocery store and dip them in mayo. No fiber there :)
-
I'm no expert here, but I understand it varies from person to person, and is around the 80g mark. I have a blood glucose meter and can eat 60g and still be in (minor) ketosis the next morning. I lose more weight at the 20g mark. Great job on the weight loss so far!

I make bone broth in the crock pot, similar to whats above. I add all the veggies in the fridge that are about to go bad. Also celery tops and broccoli and cauliflower bottoms that won't get eaten. Lots of salt, and some spices, I freeze some since it goes bad in less than a week. I use it for any recipe that calls for…

5/30 plan it :) log it :) eat it :) I really don't feel like I've lost any weight / fat this week. The scale will tell tomorrow, but my body is being stubborn.
