Welcome! I'm from Ireland too and found this site helpful although I haven't been maintaining it much the last month due to busyness. One thing I've noticed is that the better I feel about myself (being compassionate to myself) the better I treat myself. I understand if you feel disgusted or ashamed but you have no reason…

Me too.

And while I'm at it, this conversation is (in my humble-ish opinion) pointless and disappointing. Who CARES if your partner eats more than you? As long as they're healthy, what does it matter? And even if they're unhealthy, if you're in a relationship with them, your concern surely should be for THEM and their health and…

Ha! Of course you can help it.

I have felt the same way in the past and am starting to feel better and more confident. Feel free to add me :)

"
I fail to see how it's sad or shallow, the majority of people will be attracted to a slimmer/fitter person than a bigger one, it's human nature. What is sad is not to look after yourself and ending up being overweight and unhealthy as a result.
" It's not human nature, it's because of the media. 100's of…

Hey Dave, I'm so sorry to hear you feel like that about yourself. I am a Christian and believe that God did a good job of making me! But I understand that not everyone shares my religious beliefs so let me say this: You are wonderful, unique and the only YOU in the universe! I hear a lot of people say that they want to…

Hey jwobbly, I've been using this site since the beginning of January and have found people on here really friendly and supportive. It's helped me not to feel overwhelmed about taking my health seriously and take each day at a time. And if you have an off-day, you just start again the next day! Feel free to add me :)

Buy a skipping rope! (Or Jump rope if you're not from my side of the Atlantic!) It's fast, fun and 10 minutes fast skipping burns well over 100 calories.

Done!

I think it's good to share it. Of course everyone has their opinions and advice about what you should be eating, but you know yourself what works for you. Also, there's always the 'quick add calories' for things you don't want to share! ;)

My opinion: I think unless there is some medical reason to do it (like with a breast reduction where breasts are causing back pain) I would avoid it. Disliking your breasts smells of body hatred perpretrated by media and the people around you to me, but I don't know you at all so these are of course only assumptions!…

Don't play games if you want to have a healthy relationship, just become good friends and see what happens! If you are just out for a bit of fun, go ahead!

Very encouraging. Learning to respect and love yourself will take you a long way! Well done, you should be very proud of yourself.

Emotional eating (eating for any reason other than hunger) has a root or a cause. Maybe look into your thought patterns around eating and learn to dis-cipher whether you're actually hungry, or using food as a reliever. Therapy helps in figuring all that out. I think in the short-term, exercise, rest, fresh air all help but…

1. Sparkling (soda) water with ice and a lemon slice. Very refreshing! 2. Porridge in the morning with a spoonful of sugar to fill me up. 3. Oranges and apples in the morning to give me a sugar lift 4. Asparagus, broccoli, spinach, cabbage and all the other greens I love 5. Low fat cheese if I'm feeling snackish. 6. Sesame…

I'm kind of shocked at how skinny/muscly you all want to be! The girl with the pretty lingerie/Marilyn Monroe look like the only healthy ones to me!

Cheese - I love it too much!

I used to struggle with this when I was slimmer and since I have put on weight, I go out hassle-free and I actually found it to be a bit of a relief! But the plan is to lose weight so it will start happening again. Yeah, mention your husband or just smile and say 'thanks but I'm not single'! Some guys will respect that and…

Going for a walk with a friend or listening to your favourite music is my favourite exercise and I never really enjoyed it before. That or dance classes! Or just going out dancing :P
