I gain at ovulation, and only lose a "chunk" of weight the day before I start, every month. So basically for 3 weeks the scale shows no losses and even reflects a gain.. smh. Go figure. B)

I just love all of these comments! You give me hope and laughter! <3 :D :) :p :*

Alo I've heard losing weight is like unraveling a paper towel roll, gradually all over.

This is so me. 160 days in and I've lost 21.6lb, with 43lb more to go until first goal. Oy... patience is a mf B)

Right, agree. And if I follow my calorie intake per MFP, I don't get too hungry :) or more importantly, HANGRY haha
-
Idk honestly, but I get what you're saying, as far as semantics go :) I know, for me, I have to equate this to something I've learned, called HALT- basically to never get too Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired. When I do, I act up in all kinds of ways

Something I've been made aware of... hunger is a feeling. Like being tired, angry, etc. So as long as I get my calories in set by MFP, my body is fine. These feelings will pass, and I don't have to act on them.

If by celebration you mean huffing and puffing with a smile on my face, then YES!!!!!

First attempt of stair machine several weeks ago and I lasted 5 minutes. This weekend I did it again, 51 flights in 24 minutes. I felt like Rocky! B)

This is interesting, Ive been in a deficit since late January, and vacation is coming in 3 weeks, so I think that will be perfect for a maintenance week  edited to add I still have 44lb left until my first goal.

The great thing about this, is we all can relate to that 'just starting out' feeling.

A few times a week I drink the high protein Slim-Fast shakes for lunch, has 20g pro, 1g sugar.. it's great in a pinch.

Thanks OP for this. I'm 5'9 and have lost a whopping 19lb since January, I'm at 245 now and want to get to 199 first goal. It is slow, and I find patience and consistency is key. I don't care how long it takes me this time, bc before I'd put a time limit on it as in lose X amount by Y time.. plus I'm living life, holidays…
-
I've lost 17.8 since January, slow and steady...I'd like to lose another 50.. anyone add me B)

Practicing patience. Great post.

Amazing!

Hahaha... good for you Rocky!

Yep I gain at ovulation, then the entire week and a half before the scale is up and I become hangry and exhausted. Scale goes back to normal, and then some, after I start.. it's bs

I LOVE saving most of my calories for dinner!

For me right now, I'm beginning to think of "hunger" as just another feeling, like anger, tiredness, joy, loneliness, etc. Feelings aren't fact, and they're fleeting. Just as I'm tired at work right now, I'm not going to sleep on my keyboard. Just as anger set in during a traffic jam, I'm not going to go on a murder spree.…

Motivation is fleeting. Action is what it takes. Just take it one day at a time :)
