  • Hi, welcome to spin class! I do it about 5 days a week. At first I did spin class without weight lifting for about a year, then I got pregnant with my daughter and did spin throughout my pregnancy, which was great. I started going back when she was about 6 months old in December and then started lifting weights in January.…
  • Hi, I'm sorry for what you and your husband had to go though with his health. I have been a pescatarian (fish eater) for about 15 years now. I'm a mother to a 15 month old baby girl. I'm trying to lose about 7 more pounds to reach my pre baby weight and have already lost about 15 lbs. Good luck on your journey and feel…
  • I agree with the majority of people here, babies go through phases depending on their evolving eating habits and levels of mobility. And just because a baby is large doesn't mean they are eating unhealthy, maybe the child was just a good eater and since it was not yet able to walk, they got chunky, its normal. My daughter…
  • I hear you OP. I have read numerous posts on MFP where people say that they do little or no cardio because weight lifting does more for their body than cardio. I also have not really heard anyone elaborate on how they came to this conclusion, exactly how the weights have changed their bodies vs their old cardio routines…
  • LOL, yeah, that wedding dress was something else, and they just HAVE to be from Georgia.....
  • I'm 5'10" and currently 153, I want to get back to 145, pre-baby weight.
  • Hardest I have laughed all day!!!
  • My LO is 14 months old now and I finally got back into the gym about 3 months ago. Once they are able to sit up on their own you could think about joining a gym with a daycare. I go to body plex and my daughter loves the kids plex there and it allows me to do weights and a cardio class, I also found that I am much more…
  • I used to do it and it helped me get the confidence to start using the weights on the floor that I was scared of before. I still don't do free weights but when I did body pump I had definition everywhere and I looked great, especially my back and arms. My husband also did it with me (we were getting ready for our wedding)…
  • Yep, I do spin 5 days a week and squeeze in weights 20 minutes before class, love it!
  • We go every weekend and hit up two different ones. I always get fresh veggies, peaches, blueberries and tomatoes. We also get fresh baked breads, spices, and lots of cheese and soap. They also have local, free range meats too if you are a meat eater.
  • I'm with the other posters, if you sign up for a marathon or run that should do the trick, but it sounds like you may want to find some other alternatives to running. I understand exactly what you mean about dreading a workout and wasting time, and then for me it sometimes just would not get done. I have found that I am…
  • Dips, any kind of dip. It's like a free for all when I see a bowl full of endless dip, lol! There is no limit on servings, and I just go crazy. I don't even have to have chips or crackers to dip with, raw veggies work great so at least I eat it with something healthy! ; )
  • You're beautiful! Congratulations!!!
  • Semi vegetarian, I eat some types of sustainable fish and cheese. I went vegan for about 2 years but when I was pregnant I had a really bad bout of morning sickness while out on a field trip and literally the only thing around to eat were cheese cubes left over from my kiddos lunches so I had to cave then and there, lol.…
  • I eat out 5-6 nights a week and have no problem dropping weight. Look up the restaurant's nutrition facts if they're available, if not then find similar items that are already in the database and go for the higher estimates, that's what I do. You will be fine :)
  • I think it's a logical next step from labeling packaged foods we get at the grocery store. We eat out a lot (almost every night, lol) and it would certainly be very helpful!
  • I'm 5'10" and 153, would like to get to 145-147, female.
  • Nope, it's not developmentally appropriate for 2nd graders with Autism. However, I do teach social skills, and the part about how being a smart *kitten* is rude and immature is part of our daily curriculum.
  • I purposely have not read any of this thread besides the OP (the 2nd posts eye rolling was enough) and here are my 2 cents. I'm a teacher, a fairly young teacher, this is my 6th year teaching in a VERY poor school district (5th poorest in the good ole US of A). ALL of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Here is an…
  • So sorry you had to go through that but congratulations on your great work, you look amazing!!!
  • Sounds like the battery, Mine is accurate when I do strength training before cardio. It goes up as I'm lifting and back down in between. You can replace the battery so I would look into that.
  • I'm 5'10, 153 and when I do a 45 minute spin class (really hard, sweat puddles, etc) I burn between 500 and 700 calories based on my FT4 so I think it sounds pretty good to me. I did a 2 hour class a few weeks ago and burned over 1200.
  • Yeah, I was ticked at them, I mean I know they watched me doing that wrong, twice a week for months.....not nice!
  • Also, I have been an avid spinner for the past several years and was always too scared to enter the intimidating weights area of the gym. Mostly b/c is 75% guys who are HUGE and I had no idea what to do. So one day after getting back into the swing of things after having my daughter I was like 'what the heck, I bet all of…
  • I'm only a 'beginner' in the lifting world, as in, I go through the weights in the circuit a Bodyplex, I don't do anything with free weights, and I'm really not interested. Well I have been doing this for about 2 months now and I am definitely seeing results. So last week on an upper body day, I get on the butterfly press…
  • Any spots left? I would like to join!
  • My daughter is only 13 months, so she is just beginning to snack on 'real food' but she likes greek yogurt, string cheese, loves bananas, yogurt smoothies, organic peas, corn, and beans of all kinds. I also make mini muffins with various fruits and veggies for her and I freeze them and pull them out as needed, they are a…
  • Same here, lost 15 lbs since mid april and have been stalling for the last 2 weeks, I have 8 lbs to go before I'm back at pre-baby weight.
