some days it goes very fast yet other days it seems like hours. I don't know where the bottleneck happens. Usually it shows up on the Withings app pretty fast though so I am guessing that the hold up is in the interface between Withings and MFP someplace.

If your actual goal is "getting drunk," you are going to LOVE ketosis! Much cheaper buzz in the end from the point you achieve ketosis! Just don't use beer as it will knock you back out.
-
I am just in awe of your accomplishment. Outstanding and congratulations on your success.

regarding fasting, there have been a couple things written about that recently in Grain Brain and Jimmy Moore also noted that on his graphs on his fast - last a bit and then goes down. also went back up briefly again when the fast was ended but returned to normal.

Dont fret about how the scale will bobble on any given day for sure. Remember, you would need to over-consume your daily burn by 3500 calories to actually "add" a pound of anything you would be concerned about. Lots of factors will influence this over a week of time. Keep going!

Don't let the articles confuse ketosis with ketoacidosis.

your answer is not as simple as you may think. And it is a combination between what Mike and KingRat stated. Averages are just that and talk about a general population but your own body composition and what you are willing to do on your path will largely dictate the answer you are seeking. Just like abs are made in the…

Remarkable - the best part is when you look at your current pics it does not look like you ever were any other way. Very nice! You lost a full-grown man!

Nice post!

Yup - not like the typical bike. Takes about 500 miles to get used to not over-handling it and keeping a lighter touch on it. Then it is remarkable. But don't counter-steer it!

The locker room attitude has definitely changed over the years (and I am OK with it) - the other "older" guys can add their own opinions on this too. Back in high school and private gyms in the 70's and 80's in this area - nobody wrapped up - it was what it was and you dealt with it and just kept your eyes forward. Almost…

Now if you drove that backwards, Doomspark, it would look correct :)

Some pretty bike pictures on here! Agreeing with the long time riders that have posted. I would say don't buy a bike you are going to "grow into" for a first. Buy one you will outgrow and THEN get the one you like. Your safety instructor would likely tell you the same. You can have a lot of fun on a Buell Blast for a few…

True - and can also be demotivating. I think people also get some image in their mind about what they will look like by simply losing weight without any muscle work - then when they get there are discouraged because their body did not shape the way they visioned it would be.

look at this - a kind of funny thread that is not likely to get locked and deleted nor anyone banned for participating!

Wow, you are too young or I am too old. Atkins first came out with his carb counting concept in the mid 1970's but you are correct, it saw a big jump in people giving it a go in the 1990's. We can just ask Krispy Kreme when that exactly happened :)

Interesting stuff. Has a melting point of about 76 degrees so on a warm day it will turn to a liquid in the jar on your counter but solidify back up when the temp drops. Also high calories per tablespoon so watch how much you use. It is good stuff but sure not the elixir as some have asked about.

Great if you were a guy though :)

I get "Mountain Bottom." Sounds like something from Brokeback Mountain. I'll just stick with Princess Edgerton then.
-
Sounds like a Country Singer :)
-
I thought the way this was done was your first name would be the name of your first pet and your last name as a stripper would be the name of the street you grew up on. Princess Edgerton here (ok, so I don't like the way that worked out either).

This really rings of the saying - "I would not want to be a member of any organization that would have me as a member."

The red ones seem to be better when you can get them with their greens still on them and cut them off yourself - for some reason they just seem to have a little better taste than the ones you buy bagged that have the greens already removed. - IMO.

Exactly what Starlage said. I use the BMF as the true indicator of what My TDEE is, on average, and set my deficit based off that. I know on average what I should consume. If I have a really good day of burn - which I know it as it is happening, I will allow extra for the day if I feel like it. Otherwise I will just enjoy…
-
Because MFP is still thinking that your daily TDEE number (the number that you are reading off your BMF) is going to be different (whether higher or lower) than what you are really seeing on the BMF device. It is only looking at what you put in for your settings numbers and has no idea on your real historical burn rates.…
-
With a TDEE of 3000 and eating at a pace of 2500 you should expect to lose at a rate of about 1 lb a week provided the TDEE is correct based on the internet calcs. For most people the BMR number is between 70-80% of their daily calorie burn if sedentary in lifestyle.

Hopefully you also took measurements as some times those will show more of the story than just the scale. Don't let the scale rule your journey - whether weighing daily nor avoiding it for a month at a time. No need to fear it - it is not making you do anything - it is simply a measure of your progress - but not the ONLY…

1. Below - since mid January. 2. Definitely below - won't lose eating your TDEE 3. Occasionally - never more than 50%. Exercise calories are overrated IMO 4. Weight training only usually - 2x per week. Occasional walking. 5. 40/30/30 - mostly made sure protein was made ever day, carbs and fats were whatever they ended up -…

Ya - the regional dialects in the US also make some phrases pretty interesting - Boston is the only place where people die from a "hat attack"
