Ugh! I feel ya. 55 here, 5'6", 125 is my sweet spot (most comfortable) but I've crept up to 132 over the past 2 mos. Vacation, holidays, etc. Gets harder and harder each year to ditch that winter coat. I know I just need to start recording my food religiously again, keep up on my at least 4 days a week gym visits, and BACK…

I'm on 1200 as well, 5'6", stay between 124-129 normally but it sure takes work. I've slipped up to 131 now and back to hitting gym 4 days a week, recording food, and cutting back on glorious, glorious wine.

I'm 55 and find it very difficult to stay fit. I can do it, it simply takes much more effort. We have a boat and I'm in a bathing suit much of the summer so I have incentive to keep at it. For me that means gym at least 4 days a week and a major cut back on wine intake. That helps keep my muffin top from becoming a bundt…

I weigh often. I know most ppl say you shouldnt but it helps keep me on check.
-
I have made progress but I get comfortable and quit paying attention and I let 5 lbs slip back on. Need to put the hammer down, stop drinking wine every evening and make myself more accountable on the weekends.
-
Sorry for the slow reply, I kind of gave up on this group. Summer's coming and I need to get serious about fitness. I try to be mindful year round but summer sneaks up on my winter *kitten* before I know it!
-
Disappointed to hear you didn't see difference in weight. I drink about the same as you did. Was hoping that cutting back would make a diff.
-
I can do fairly well during the week and then Friday! Date Night! Oh, then Sunday! Brunch with bottomless mimosas! Oh no! A weekend in Napa or Calistoga! Those are the things I need to learn I can do but I can still eat and drink in a mindful fashion. (need to learn, need to learn, need to learn....)

Wine girl here. Trying to cut WAY back as it sure makes me put on weight. Some people snack. Not me but I substitute those calories with wine.
-
I think they are asking to be added as a friend so they can communicate without being in a group. Then if they want they can allow you to see their food diary etc if they choose.

Same here. 54 and finding it hard to maintain. I lose and get to my goal weight then let myself slip until I've put it right back on. Usually no more than 8 lbs but it all goes to my belly. Oh if it would only go to my boobs!

I've never heard of that, will have to look into it. There are definitely benefits of aging. It's not all bad. Lol

5:45 to 6:45 am. Have to be to work at 8am. Never eat prior, just one cup of coffee first. Oatmeal about 9AM.
-
Breakfast salad. Some people call it a bloody mary but not me.
-
Anyone still around here?
-
55 is so close now I can smell1 it. Eat mostly well and gym 3-4 days/wk but find it hard to really tone. Would love suggestions and commiseration lol

One coffee before morning gym, weights and cardio for 1 hour. I never eat prior but drink SporTea during workout.
-
What brand do you use? I've tried a couple and it makes my hair look terrible. I have straight then hair.

Same here!

Trying to figure out how to reply to certain posts and what "quote" means below post. Bear with me!

54, 5'6", 128 lbs. Work full time, gym 3-4 days a week. Trying to be more accountable since every pound I gain goes straight to my waist. "Love handles" make them sound sweet but I assure you they are not! I hope this group becomes more active.
-
I'm with you. I see very old posts here. I'd like to see more activity.
-
I'm back again, just read my old post above. Funny how things never change for me. At least I have restarted earlier this year.

Scales are great! So helpful in making it real.
-
Sounds like you are incredibly busy! Good for you to still fit gym time into your week!

I have one of those day maybe once or twice a month, not with snacks but with a rich meal and a bottle of wine. It is just going to happen for me sometime. I don't look at it as a reward for eating well for so many days but I don't beat myself up about it either. Ever forward!!

Well I WAS 40. Now I'm just 40 + 13.
-
I'm not new to MFP but new to this group. Hoping I can stay! I'll be 53 next month but still really feel like I'm in my 40's. Looking for like-minded people !
