  • Wow, that's really harsh. Is your mom overweight? Because sometimes people don't want those close to them to lose weight because it means they have to look at themselves differently. Also, it doesn't have to be expensive to eat healthy. For vegetables, eat canned. They're not quite as healthy as fresh or frozen, but…
  • Whoa, there's a huge difference here :) That's GREAT for a month
  • I only finished the first level, but I could already see and feel my muscles getting toned. My thighs got smaller and even though I couldn't see my abs for all the stomach fat, I could tell they were getting stronger. It also helped speed up my weight loss. (which is why I'm starting it again this week)
  • http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Quadriceps/DBLunge.html These are lunges. You don't have to use the weight at first if you don't want.
  • short of implants, not that I know of. Your body loses from where it wants to lose. You can try - this is going to sound odd, but - building butt muscle. Like, not just toning, but actually trying to bulk it up a bit.
  • did you just start on March 1st? Because 4 pounds in a month is pretty good, actually.
  • I live at college. You might as well ask what ISN'T ridiculous  My favorite goofy things on campus are: 1: graffiti of famous people's heads that show up everywhere 2. The man who practices riding his unicycle at least once a week (I think he's finally improving!) 3. The accordian playing man and the bag-pipe…
  • I second these suggestions. Also, is there a garden or something in your community? They can be nice to go to and just walk around. Zoos can also be good, especially because of all the walking (and then if you go eat afterwards, you'll have extra calories  ) It all depends on where you live, really. Look around your…
  • Well, any cardio will help because you can't spot reduce fat, so it just comes off wherever it's gonna come off first. However, cardio involving leg movement would be especially good (think swimming, jogging, jumping rope, biking, etc) because that works out your leg muscles at the same time. Either that, or circuit…
  • XD really you were just asking for the kinds of replies you got in this thread Besides, who wants to be taken seriously all the time anyways?
  • Of course you'd probably want to tweak the recipe or see if you can find a healthier one. I was just trying to give you an idea of what I was talking about.
  • I have a recipe for baked barbeque chicken with cheese in the middle; sorta combines your two vices :D
  • Zucchini fudge brownies. Still a fudge brownie, but you're getting your veggies in there, and I heard you can't taste the zucchini. http://www.kissrecipes.com/desserts/misc/zfb.htm My vice is probably bacon cheese burgers. Or pretty much anything containing bacon and cheese :(
  • do you have a closed office or a cubicle type thing? You could try arm exercises with small handweights
  • I'm not currently kickboxing, but I did last summer and lost 20 pounds doing it in just a couple of months, so it definitely works  It's a great workout and really fun.
  • Well, one thing I would suggest is consulting your doctor; he or she might be able to help you figure out how much your body is capable of tackling right now. Another thing I would suggest is reading several sources about weight-lifting, not just the one, since there are a lot of myths floating around about weight-lifting…
  • It was happening to me too. Don't stress, just get back on task. Do you like to cook? What helped me "get back on the wagon" was finding new, interesting recipes to try.
  • I've heard that it doesn't matter when you consume your calories. Honestly, I would just go by whatever works for you. If you feel fine doing this and your weight loss doesn't suffer for it, then do it. That's how I stayed skinny(ish) when I was in high school. Just don't go TOO crazy at dinner, and try to keep healthy…
  • Hm. That is sort of annoying, but I wouldn't worry about it. Instead I would focus on the fact that you're losing weight; I mean, you've lost so much that you've dropped 2 sizes  That's way more important than whether you're the smallest you've ever been. And even if you aren't now, you're clearly getting there. If…
  • I would wait and see how you react to the drug. You might try asking your doctor if you're unsure, since it could be problematic to be on a reduced calorie diet while taking the medicine. But, if you don't call your doctor and ask, then wait to see how the drug affects you before you change anything.
  • Nevermind; apparently this is how much it burns: 272 calories per hour, assuming a body weight of: 150 lbs The more you weigh, I think, the more you burn, but that'll give you a general estimate at least. http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-burned-horseback-riding-a412
  • Horse riding is definitely exercise, but i don't know how many calories it burns.
  • haha, it can be fast. I stopped tracking for a couple of weeks around exams, started eating bad stuff again and exercising less, and gained 2 pounds, which is like a pound a week. But at least you know what you're doing, and you haven't stopped exercising. Just get your eating under control and you can lose the weight…
  • I think if you only do this for a few days it's not going to hurt you. Just make sure to get your calories back up to where they should be when you're feeling better or are able to eat again.
  • I think you'll find that people on this site go out of their way to be friendly and supportive :) You'll probably get several friends requests just from this post; I'm about to send you one, actually :D
  • I would say it partially depends on what you set your activity level at when you joined MFP. If you set it at sedentary or lightly active, then count it. If you set it at active, then I wouldn't count it.
  • No way! That's an amazing thing to be proud of. Seeing that first pound (or possibly 3) go because you *made* it go is a great feeling. Store it away and use it to get you through the hard times when you're frustrated. Here's to getting rid of more pounds on purpose :)
  • I don't have kids, but I have the same problem with the on again off again thing; when I'm super busy or stressed I tend to slack off MFP. I think it all boils down to time management. I find it helps me when I sit down at the beginning of the week sometime and make a plan of how I'm going to fit everything into the week.…
  • Count me in. I have fast food issues. I've done this before for a project in my college health class, but I've gone back to my old habits, so it's time to try again!
  • I think it's perfectly fine to wear all black to a wedding, particularly an evening wedding, as long as you dress it up with some jewelry or something.
