When I was a runner, I had long run days..... like 8-12 miles 2-4 times a month. Other days I had short runs or 1 hour bike. I wasn't on a diet, I was healthy weight, but I did eat more on long run days. Especially protein, I ate a lot of fruit and cottage cheese. Sounds like you're doing great!!

Agreed! Always take MD's advice. With that said many Cardiologists are less strict on low Na diets then they were a few years ago. If it's for CHF I'd stick pretty close to goal on that low Na diet. Second opinions never hurt, but I bet you'll get the same answer.

I love salt, all kids of salt. Pink salt, sea salt, coarse salt is my favorite. If you exercise you need salt, like the guy above said.

I will have my treat everyday that I wake up ....when I'm not looking in the mirror asking myself why I let myself go. Oh it will be blissful

I had my first baby at 18, got back to normal weight (130lbs) in less than a year. My stomach did not return to normal. After my second baby I again lost the weight in about a year, but then started training for half marathons and triathlons. Never went back to normal. However, not everyone's body responds the same. Don't…

It's truly a mental game. What works for me is taking a song that's about something that motivates me sometimes for good reason, sometimes for not so good reasons. I focus on that. It got me to a half, finished in 2.2. Find what motivates you, an ex you hate, a friend you love, the feeling of accomplishment.

I think they are thin because they walk everywhere. They eat white rice, because it's cheap. If you look at the other foods consumed I would say overall caloric intake is low.

I;m not sure if this was a personal post or general. If it's a generalization I think most times people are just skeptical that this site gives accurate data for calories burned during exercise. I sometimes wonder myself how accurate it is. I think what really matters is just doing it

You're not alone! Just remember, you loss is still greater than it was before you started on here. 9-10lbs or whatever that scale tells you is more than 0

Once a day. Fiber can cause constipation if you're not drinking enough water. Drink plenty of fluids and walk daily. Fiber, water, walking ....best combo.

I don't have much weight to lose, so all of my meals are low cal lol.

When I had daily workouts I ate a Special K Protein bar.... I think they are about 170 calories, which is probably more than you want. I was running 3-7 miles 3-5 days/week so calories didn't really matter. However, it really was the only think I could eat without getting a tummy ache or other problems (don't want to get…

Good Point! I do have less to lose. Oh it has been slow, makes it hard some days. I don't want to be anorexic, I only mentioned it to prove a point.

Any news?

Yes, it's breathing. The cramps come from your diaphragm. Maybe listen to music to get a breathing pattern, that usually helps me.

Some girl at work said this today and I was baffled. So I guess you're not alone. I'm not one of those girls though. Ugh darn estrogen/progesterone

What a great suggestion! I do note that on certain days I am way over on fat. I will keep an eye on that, I think it might be the red meat days. I can eat some beans those days

I am actually a healthcare provider and in no way am I suggesting I should eat less. I am asking for ideas other than "eat more" Thanks though!
