Beginning weight 261.5. Current weight 179. It has been a struggle the last six months or so but I'm still working at it.

I lost 59 pounds in 2015. Over the next 5 years I did this: Gained back 40 pounds, lost 30 pounds, gained 40 pounds. So, doing the math, I over the past five years I have actually lost (and re-gained) 90 pounds. But here I am again. It's time. Sulking about the weight I've regained isn't going to do anything towards…

I'm certainly not proud of mine! It is "from the beginning" which was about 5 years ago. A recap of "what happened to me" is in my profile bio if you're interested but the short version is I've lost and regained 90 pounds. But I have once again taken a positive step of trying yet again! I have decided to get more involved…

I do this a lot ... mostly because I lay it down and walk away!!

I have been SO NEGLIGENT with checking-in to the challenge. My sister and I left for a 26-hour drive (to Arizona) on the first day of the challenge (plus 4 hours on a train for me to meet her at our rendezvous) and ended up driving straight through . . . So that was a LOT of sitting the first couple of days! Since then I…

I'm starting my sit less challenge with a 30 hour car ride! Thanks to recent bilateral knee surgeries I will need to stop more often and move a bit more so that will be a huge challenge for me in the first couple days of the sit-less challenge but I'm up for it. Let the fun begin!!

Why can’t I “favourite” this page? It says I need “the Vanilla.DiscussionsView permission to do that”.

I watched Forks over Knives and also made an immediate decision that PB is how I wanted to go! I never really believed I would EVER follow a diet/lifestyle that did not include meat! As I transition I find that I want meat less and less.

Here I go! Watched Forks over Knives and I am a believer! But I will have to make a slow transition so am going to start by adding more vegetables and fruits to my diet and restrict dairy. I'm not a huge milk drinker but I do love my cheese so we will see how it goes. Any advice? I have so much to learn!

I'm so confused I don't even know what day it is!! Posted this by accident on yesterday's feed so am pasting it here today since it's SUNDAY and NOT Saturday!!! Spending my day chasing a puppy!!! I got "Zac" on Wednesday and have been up earlier, staying up later, and moving more ever since!! I need to get back to walking…

Spending my day chasing a puppy!!! I got "Zac" on Wednesday and have been up earlier, staying up later, and moving more ever since!! I need to get back to walking more though -- our weather is chilly and Zac is a little guy without much endurance for weather or walking -- but each day gets a little better!!
-
I would participate again.

Anything in moderation . . . .

Today will be a challenge since I will be driving to Ohio. It is about a 5 hour drive. I do have my dog with me so I will have to stop along the way and get him out for a little exercise so hopefully that will help. Otherwise I think it will be a very low step count and very low stand count for today

Getting ready to go out of town for a week! It will be a challenge getting my steps in while taking care of mom who is recovering from hip surgery but sitting less should be a breeze!!

Cleaning house is another! It's my project for the day!!
-
The weather is rainy and yucky today so it looks like it will be a mall walking kind of day!!
-
I will definitely start thinking about the weekend. My husband works days this weekend and I am often not very active when he is not here -- he is my motivator!! I will make a plan and STICK TO IT!!! The 30 minute walk will be no problem. Thanks to the challenge I have been getting in my 10,000 steps and 12 stands every…

Will have to go to the mall today -- raining

Looking forward to a great walk in the sunshine today!!! Happy Saturday everyone!!!

Being a "step-counter" I truly AM amazed at how much difference all those little things make!! I have to force myself to get up in the evenings after I settle in for the night but I am finding that getting up even for just 5 minutes per hour makes a difference how I feel both mentally and physically.... AND makes a…

Ah man!!! I did this yesterday!!! Finally got my back yard flower garden cleaned out for fall!! I'll have to look for something else to do today!!
-
Evenings are my problem -- especially the weeks (like this one) when hubby is working nights. I watch Netflix so no commercials!!! Will pledge tonight to, at the very least, get up between 44 minute episodes!
-
I've got an iWatch with hourly stand reminders! I'll commit to getting up every time it says it's time today!
-
It takes commitment and I'm working on that!!!!

Thanksgiving dinner today -- just a small turkey and fix'ins for my husband, mother-in-law and me so will be on my feet a lot .... but will definitely get in an evening walk. I've been doing well with getting in my steps and stands since starting the challenge!!
-
Off to the local fall fair! Lots of walking and enjoying the beautiful fall day!!! The article on the added benefit of exercise was also pretty inspiring!
-
I think this is the first easiest challenge I have ever participated in!! I love walking even while I struggle with weight loss. Parking far away has always been a habit and such a great way to get more steps!!
-
With each stand reminder I get today I'll take 250 steps.
