I think my legs might be a little longer than average but they don't look weird. The only thing I've noticed is people always think I'm taller than I am. Truthfully I'd give up some leg for a waist though...but alas the grass is always greener. I really think your inseam is perfectly normal. ETA: and my actual inseam is 31…

That is about half your height, so no I think that is average. My inseam is a wee long 31-32 for my height 5'4" but I have no torso. If your legs were longer the length would have to come from somewhere so my guess is you are very well proportioned.

Yup^ I suggest the Post Punk Kitchen blog for great recipes and her books (my favorite is the veganomicon) Here is my usual shopping list. Forgive me I am just pasting this from another post I recently responded to but I feel like it is applicable here: Nuts: things like sesame seeds and sunflower seeds legumes: this would…

Yes I was addicted and yes I quit (cold turkey). Drink more water and then just do it.
-
Yeah I agree with this^ your BF is fine OP sorry you are unhappy with your results. It does sound like you were eating very low calorie-wise. But the past is the past and you did lose a ton of weight so congrats about that.

Yes this! ^

I net 1400 calories but eat about 1700-1800 with exercise and am losing the pesky last 5 pounds. I'm going to up my net calories to 1500 soon because I'm close to my goal and I would like to figure out where maintenance is (my TDEE is supposed to be a little over 1700). I'm about 118lbs now seeking 115 my BF last I checked…

Been vegetarian and/or vegan for 25+ years and have no plans to give it up! OP if you want to give it up then give it up but don't do it for someone else. Nothing personal and not directed at you, but these types of threads strike me as a little "misery loves company" syndrome. The person giving up what they believe might…

No it makes you smart! I wish I had thought of that...note to self....thanks :)

I'll join you in a body roll!!

Yeah we are what we are though. I'll never be an hourglass either, I'm a banana with a short torso, long legs, and a thigh gap (I could care less about that). Just get healthy and you'll look good for your shape. :)

Congratulations!!

Yup.^ At first I didn't understand this but I think I do now. I'm sure people think I'm crazy for caring about a few pounds or how a dress fits. But for me that behavior/way of thinking has kept me thin my whole life. I like to keep things in check and like you say it takes a tremendous amount of consideration none less…

Love Carlin!! RIP

I love veganaise but I don't know how it stacks up calorie wise against mayo.

When my clothes started to feel tight I started looking at losing weight very seriously. I still have clothes I wore in HS (I'm 39) and I never had children so I don't have a skewed sense of what my weight should be (It is the same, if not a wee smaller than my 18 y/o body). I think it is dangerous to get rid of all your…

Yup ^ and if you don't have junk around you won't eat it.

Regarding being in a small town I order from Amazon and it's cheaper than my natural grocery anyway. I use raw protein by garden of eatin but I don't know if it has soy in it.
-
Ha yeah that about sums it up!
-
Yes! And I don't think it is all that high considering it is comparable to rice etc. You're a vegetarian too so I definitely think you should continue eating it.
-
Friendly :)

Yes it's true. I'm 39 y/o and only 5'4" and net 1400 but I can bump that up to almost 1700 net and still lose. I usually eat 1600-1800 calories with exercise. My TDEE is somewhere between 1700-1800 calories. I don't always eat back all my exercise calories but then I don't always stay under net so it evens out.

Ha! I wish I had a pithy math retort!!

Yes I believe it because I married mine. I also think you might have more than one out there though.

My husband is gorgeous (no lie women tell me all the time) and it makes me feel pretty to be with someone who is so damn handsome. I'm also less likely to let myself go given the fact that he hasn't. Another interesting thing is that people like us together. We get told all the time that we are a handsome pair. i think we…

Awesome! I only do container gardening. I live in a place that requires too much water. So I don't water my lawn but I haven't replaced it with veggies either because there are only two of us and we tend to travel.

You could have been the help she needed.

I've never technically been overweight in my life-ever. Not everyone on here starts "overweight". Personally, I was able to get a hold of my weight before it got out of hand. There are many of us who are just looking to lose a few pounds and/or get healthier. :flowerforyou:

yup^

130 sounds like a good goal but honestly I think you'll know when you get there. It's perfectly fine to change your goal too. I'm 5'4" and mine is 115 (lowest) but I'm small framed. I started here a little over 130lbs-- definitely too heavy for me. I've seen 5'4" women here with everything between 100-130ish goals and even…
