  • Wow inspiring, you look fantastic! Based on people on my FL and on this site I'm going with yes to being hot past 40. I'll be 40 in a few months myself and I hope to retain some of my "hotness" into my 40s. But really as long as my man still finds me hot I'll be happy with that.
  • I'm going to go with no because you were not always closed to the idea. But either way, it is probably best never to say never. Stay open to love you never know what form it might take. ETA: and I find this to be an intriguing question btw
  • Yeah this is a nice explanation^
  • Honestly, I'm not really annoyed easily by things that don't affect others. I could care less about someone's personal habits/hygiene/way of living. But I do have a few hot button issues and they all revolve around one thing: When people are not conscientious of themselves and/or others (they don't keep their word, they…
  • Do we have a thread on this in happy herbivore? This and the veg. shopping list question comes up so much that I think we should have a dedicated thread to both topics. OP, I'm thinking that if you did a search here you would find a ton of good recipes that we have posted over the years. I'm sorry not to post anything…
  • Yes and milk ugh! they do subsidize soy a little but soymilk (or rice, almond, flax or whatever non-animal milk) should not be more expensive than (imo nasty and unhealthy) cow milk. OP, I make my own bread every week. I also buy frozen mixed vegetables and make a giant pot of healthy veggie soup (with lentil or barley) on…
  • I don't usually get as high as 2K, but I just ran a report and it seems I am averaging about 1800 (with exercise). I'm trying to net 1500 (which is up from 1400) and I will be upping this number every 4 weeks or so until I find my accurate TDEE. I am 39, 118lbs, 5'4" the calculators say my TDEE is a little over 1700.
  • I'm 5'4" about 118lbs and I net 1500 right now (sometimes I eat close to 2000 with exercise). I am still losing but I don't want to go under 115lbs because it generally doesn't look good on me so I will be slowing this process down by adding more calories in the next month or so. Now that I am close to my goal I'm not sure…
  • no, staring is creepy no matter who is looking. glancing is fine and can be flattering when it's honest.
  • I've never heard of this, but either way it is confusing when people use the word vegetarian and also eat meat. If you are looking to cut your consumption of flesh-based meals I encourage and applaud you.
  • Yes this^ I've never had more than 15-20 pounds to lose and I'm here :) Occasionally there are threads that pop up for us too, so it's not just us here. BTW, I'm not sure puking and using diet pills are "average" I've never forayed into that realm. But I'm probably significantly older than you so maybe it's more of an…
  • Have you see the beautiful strong thicker thighs here? Leg muscles are fabulous please don't let your muscles atrophy!
  • Get the leaping bunny app! :)
  • <does this look like someone who is turning 40 in 5 months? :)
  • I'm subscribed to this pinterest page: http://pinterest.com/source/greatveganathletes.com/ I've also posted this before but This is vegan professional body builder Jimi Sitko^. Here is his blog: http://www.jimisitko.com/wordpress/
  • OP sorry about the rant above.^ Anyway, I have recently started to transition back to vegan from vegetarian (I've been one or the other for the past 25 years) and want to suggest an amazing cookbook that came out in October that I have been using lately: artisan vegan cheese. It is some work to make the cheeses (I have two…
  • Yeah unfortunately I tend to have my hackles up when these threads appear too. There seem to be just a handful of omnis who feel the need to post some ignorant/antagonizing response when these threads appear though. So while I totally understand this ^ response we should probably just not feed the trolls (I'm guilty of…
  • I love wine too. Like anything you love I don't think you should give it up. But I couldn't drink an entire bottle in one sitting. Not judging you for it apparently this is not uncommon I'm just a lightweight. Anyway, I drink a glass or 2 if it fits into my calories. Three glasses in one day is my absolute limit and I…
  • Lol! No when you see it mentioned just move along it's sort of silly. Not to minimize people with natural gaps (raises hand) because it can be a good indication that one is gaining weight when the thighs touch. But anyway that is about all this topic is about. Not everyone has one (apparently it's genetic) so it's like a…
  • Yes lots of us here. Just do a search and you'll find a ton of threads.
  • Not sauna or steam room per se but I'm addicted to hot yoga. The room is heated to about 105 and it is humid. You sweat a lot and need to drink about a gallon of water (1/2 before and 1/2 during/after). I love it but have no idea if it is significantly beneficial other than keeping me limber while I contort my body and…
  • Tahini and fresh fruit nom nom!
  • Mine is from about 4-5 months ago.
  • Everything you make with meat can be made vegetarian and even vegan if you are not afraid to be creative. If you need somewhere to start: Foul: soy is usually good here Beef/red meat: seitan For more delicate dishes: mushrooms You can also use legumes and nuts. If you want your meat substitutes (or veggies) to be smokey…
  • Yes there are a lot of veg. folks here we even have our own little section. But that doesn't keep the hostiles^ out....
  • We wouldn't need to talk about it if "corpse-consumption" wasn't assumed :flowerforyou:
  • Yes exactly we are omnis meaning we do not need meat to survive (unlike say cats who are carnivores). But seriously non veg. why are you posting here? ETA: and for anyone who cares to know what 25 years of veg will do to your health take a look at my pictures, I'll be 40 this year. Also after recently having a physical I…
  • You have no idea if people are wearing vegan leather (see moo shoes for awesome vegan shoes) and/or if they "inherited" them or acquired them prior to being veg. People who eat a plant based diet are doing way more for the environment and animal cruelty than omnis even if they happen to have a few leather items (for…
  • Plenty of folks live without them :)
