  • Hands up everyone who teared up reading that... *raises hand* That's one very sweet little boy, who will probably go on to become the kind of man you want your daughters to bring home... Well done you... :)
  • Bumping for later.... I've been considering going searching for a banana bread recipe for a week or so; this is really good timing... :)
  • okay, in that situation I would be tempted to make a start on your usual exercise, but giving yourself the proviso that you can stop without feeling guilty at any time if it becomes uncomfortable. Either that, or maybe ditch the shred for a while, and try something like swimming instead (assuming that you can get your foot…
  • Sometimes you need to work through discomfort, but sometimes you just need to recognise that pain is natures way of telling you to not do something. A bunch of people on line can't tell you which situation this is... ;)
  • I had mine out when I was 29 (I was working in the oral surgery department of a hospital, so had them done at work), and I wouldn't worry about not being a teenager. I saw people of all ages coming through our doors. I had mine done under a general anaesthetic because of how badly impacted they were, and it took about five…
  • To be honest, if a person doesn't want to ask you out because you're carrying a bit of extra weight, then they're not the person you want to go out with. Maybe you should count yourself lucky that you've had an opportunity to find that out now.... ;) It's often a case of a guy will want to be with a confident person…
  • Not meaning to have a go at you, as I suspect you may not know 'internet etiquette', but typing all in upper case letters is the equivalent of shouting at somebody. I don't have too much of a problem with it, but others are likely to be a bit sarcastic (I get sarcastic over other things instead... ;) ). I hope you get some…
  • Surely that would be vegans? ;)
  • Agreed...
  • Non Scale Victory... those little things not related to a number... :)
  • He sounds like my husband... and yes, I'd consider us both to be very lucky... :) Mine just bought me a treadmill so I can get some exercise in without having to worry about our five year old keeping up. I think we're going to be on beans on toast for a couple of months, but he seems to think it's worth it... :)
  • Until recently then either a WW ice cream cup, then came the discovery of peanut butter and English muffins. However, I've now discovered just how good almonds are. I have 15 almonds (105 calories), and I nibble each one to make it last as long as possible, and have a drink with it (water, sugar free vimto cordial, green…
  • I was taking Metformin a few years ago for PCOS, and it did seem to help a little. My consultant explained to me that it can act as an appetite suppressant, but that I would still have to do the bulk of the work to shift the weight. He was absolutely right.
  • I think the normal advice would be that so long as you're netting over 1200, you're not overly hungry, and you feel fine, then don't worry about it. If you're not netting 1200 after exercise etc has been taken into account then consider adding in something like some almonds, or some peanut butter.
  • You're definitely not alone... I bet you nobody responds after me... ;)
  • It's a fantastic feeling isn't it... it's even better when you no longer have to shop in specialist places. I've always been an Evan's girl, but I've found now that I can shop pretty much everywhere now (still have a very long way to go). Congratulations on getting this far, and I hope you really enjoy the wedding... :)
  • Servings are tiny in my opinion, and that is why I've pretty much stopped eating cereal. I just wasn't getting enough to keep me going through the morning. Now I stick with an English muffin with peanut butter or a couple of eggs, and I'm good to go... :)
  • English muffin with peanut butter... keeps me going right through to lunch with no problem... :) I avoided peanut butter for ages because of how high a calorie count it had per gram, but now I'm a convert - the stuff is fantastic...
  • If mfp had a 'Like' button I'd be pressing it about now. Thankfully I have a lot of Christian friends, and would never judge them all based on the actions or attitudes of one. Same as I wouldn't for anyone of any faith.
  • > CHRISTIAN what's that got to do with anything? Please don't bring your religion into this discussion. I find it offensive. It's not suitable to be discussed here. > humiliate people Who's being humiliated? I think people are being very honest, and nobody is holding a gun to their head to make them confess anything. As it…
  • I have a major sweet tooth, and do give in to it from time to time. However, what I've found really helpful the rest of the time is green tea. When I'm drinking that I really don't want the sweet stuff (especially ice cream). You have to make it quite weak though otherwise I find it can be quite bitter (I'll happily draw…
  • It could be something as simple as the farmer has changed the brand of feed he's been using.
  • I was a member of Slimming World when i lived in the UK, and I have to say that it really did work for me. I lost nearly five stones with them (70), and had I stayed in the UK I'd still be a member now. They have three programmes within their system. Red days, Green days, and Extra Easy. Red days you can have more lean…
  • My husband and I can very easily share a pint... put the pot between us, two spoons, sorted... :) B&J Cherry Garcia has got to be the nicest ice cream ever. We then discovered B&J do a frozen yoghurt Cherry Garcia, and it's every bit as lovely as the real stuff, but a lot fewer calories. We discovered this by accident as…
  • Regardless of the fact that breasts are made up of fat, some of just don't lose them. I'm nearly 70lb down, and I still have my G cup girls (granted the back size has gone down). If nobody can come up with some exercises that work for you then the best advice is to invest in some really good bras (which I'm sure you…
  • I ended up using half and half brown sugar and splenda (which on looking into splenda brown is what's in the packet anyway), and it worked quite well... texture is a little different from making the cake in the traditional manner, (which I assume is at least partially because of substituting the butter for apple sauce),…
  • I'm exactly the same, so I've taken up embroidery. Nothing too complicated (I'm so non domesticated that I struggle to know which end of the needle to thread!), just the little kits you can get that have everything in them you need. It keeps my hands busy, but I can still keep track of what is happening on the TV. The…
  • bump
  • presumably because the bubbles go 'pop'. I grew up in Manchester (The UK one), and 'soda' was either called pop or mineral. Now neither is used particularly often, and it's generally just denoted as a soft or fizzy drink. One of my hates is when people use 'txt spk' when they have a full keyboard in front of them. Is it so…
