Hi all, I just finished reading 95% of this entire thread. I started Contrave yesterday. Starting weight is 185 and goal weight is 155. I'm only on day two, but so far I am as hungry as ever, BUT I noticed today that even though I was hungry, I had no real interest in eating. It took me forever to eat my lunch as I kept…

Nancy, Thanks for your reply. When I would walk on my treadmill with the One, it would add nearly exactly the distance the treadmill showed. I have now checked twice with the Charge HR and both instances seemed inaccurate. Yesterday, after 1.5 miles on the treadmill, the Charge shows 1.34 miles for the whole day -…

I went from 27.6 to 22.8. I really have no desire to be 'skinny' and this is the slimmest I've been in many years. I too am up there age wise so just looking to be a healthy maintainable weight.

Well, I've been posting here for a few weeks, perhaps I should introduce myself. I'm Heidi, 52 years old. I've been married for 29 years (this Sunday) and have three wonderful grown children. My husband has been very supportive, if a bit confused by my sudden interest in lifting weights. I found NROLFW as I was nearing the…

Magpie, I'm fairly new to this, so no expert. I do know that I didn't start NROLFW until I was at maintenance. Not on purpose, it just happened that way. I certainly hope there will be results at a maintenance level. Just make sure you're eating enough. Sounds like most people experience a bit of weight gain when starting,…

I am out of the loop and don't know what a Smith machine is, so no help there. I do my workouts at home. But, with regard to the prone jack knife, I laugh every time I do them and think I could never do these in public - but I'm old and uncoordinated! I have actually come to enjoy them, though they sometimes make my left…

Found it! Boy do I feel stupid. I know I searched, but probably didn't search for 'strength' under cardio. FWIW, it gave me 105 calories for 30 minutes. Thank you all!

Coffee Protein shake with 1/4 serving of greek yogurt for thickness plus some sugar free syrup 1 egg, 2 egg whites, turkey sausage, sometimes some cheese on the eggs/sausage.

Very helpful. Thanks!
http://authoritynutrition.com/11-biggest-lies-of-mainstream-nutrition/
Excellent summary article, thank you! (That was supposed to be in quoted form - not sure how I messed that up!) I'm not carb free, far from it, but I do limit my starchy carbs and sugar and it seems to work for me. I never limit my…

Please do some research before purchase. I REALLY wanted the Flex. After researching the differences between the Flex and the One, I chose the One. The One has an altimeter, which can track your stairs. Also, the accuracy test done for the article I read indicated that the One seemed a bit more accurate. Plus the One has a…

I almost posted this exact question a few days ago. I was feeling a bit guilty as I was sneaking in 30 minutes of treadmill on my off days. It seems I'm not alone. Sounds like my 30 min. of walk/jog won't impede my progress. Thanks!

I am hovering. That's the best way to describe it. My initial goal was 160, then I went to 156, then 154. I did change MFP to only a 250 calorie deficit and I had been still losing, albeit very very slowly. But I recently started NROLFW and expect my weight to go up by a few pounds. I don't think having a 250 calorie…

We eat a lot of Red and Yellow Bell Peppers. They can get quite expensive. Or maybe Butter Lettuce. That stuff is high priced as well. Those are the things I wish I could grow. For the record, I think it's really better that I don't have a Pizza tree!
-
Yes, once cleaned OR refrigerated they must be refrigerated.
-
The smell at the plant was absolutely DISGUSTING! But I actually disliked them before I started working there! I guess they just smell like dirt to me.
-
Can we get the recipe for this? Pretty please?
-
I'll add some egg knowledge. I've owned chickens for the past year and I love getting fresh eggs. But I have too many and can't give the eggs away fast enough. We keep our eggs on the counter, it's easier to give them away if they're not refrigerated. But I tell people to check them before they eat them. Just drop each egg…

No way. I worked as a guard at a mushroom packing facility during college. I guarantee you'd never eat mushrooms again!

Bump. And thanks!

I too, have just started lifting and am concentrating on upping my protein. Try adding some meat to breakfast. The other morning I had some chicken breast. Other more traditional days, I add some crumbled turkey sausage to my omelet. I find if I concentrate on my protein, the rest just falls into place. Also, the days when…

Sorry. I didn't see anyone had responded. Not sure where there stores are, but I got everything at Academy. It's a sporting goods store. I also looked at Dack's the new arrival here in OKC, but they didn't seem to have much in stock. For the record, I'm SO glad I got a setup where the bench and rack are separate. It makes…

Never thought of this. You could even season a bit before baking!

I have taken them, warmed a bit, then rolled them in some Kashi cereal. Then I let them firm up again and voila, a crunchy Quest bar.

On Sunday, I threw this together in the crock pot - turned out pretty good: Pork Tenderloin 1 medium onion a bit of green pepper (prob could have left this out) a few cloves of garlic 1 can of petite diced tomatoes 1 large jar of marinated artichoke hearts A handful of fresh green beans. Pretty tasty and low fat!
-
Feel free to add me as well. Newbie here- I'm about to do my 2nd workout this morning :)
-
It could be the jetlag - seriously, I always feel gross after I fly. The fat shouldn't make you feel bloated.

I have recently been on a big push to up my protein and decrease my carbs. The last week or so, I've mostly been under 100g, some days as low as 66g. But I'm trying to selectively reduce my carbs. I will not restrict any fresh vegetables. I'm not a huge fruit fan, so that's usually not an issue. What I strive for is…

Feel free to have a look. But please hold any criticisms! My diet is not perfect. I do better some days than others. To be honest, I wouldn't mind dropping an extra pound or two, but I'm pretty much at maintenance. I've also been really trying (some days harder than others) to cut back on the starchy carbs.
