  • Sometimes I only eat one meal a day, it starts when I wake up and ends when I go to sleep ;)
  • Gluten is just one of my little demons. If anyone has pain, they might try cutting out nightshade vegetables for a bit and see how much that can help (potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers). It's shocking how much trouble food can cause people, and we don't realize it.
  • I guess we have been lucky....never had a problem with Aldi's meats.
  • I am an old lady, and I confess: there are many days when I eat "junk"....and I'm still losing weight, probably because I've stopped eating a truckload of "junk" ;)
  • There are foods that I really need to avoid just like an alcoholic avoids drinking....because if I start in on it, I just won't stop. I am with you on the "depriving" thing.....I don't feel deprived when I avoid eating trigger foods like bread or potatoes because there really isn't anything in them that my body cannot live…
  • I realize a lot of men that exhibit this type of behavior are probably up to no good (cheating, drugs, drinking, etc.) but there are some that just need their alone time. My father, when asked by my mother where he was going, always replied "out". My old man asks me where I'm going every time I stand up......FFS where…
  • Put ice in your water and use a straw. Sip on water all day. Try to drink a full cup of water every two hours, or whenever you go into the kitchen, or both. Put a cherry in your water, or a lemon or lime slice on the side of your glass, it makes it look a little fancier. It can be very difficult for adults to want to drink…
  • Do you keep your scale in exactly the same place? Our scale will weigh a bit differently depending on where we sit it down, so i keep it in exactly the same spot and that made it a lot more stable. The scale I had before (I threw it away) would weigh up to 15 pounds difference depending on just "how" you stood on it, or…
  • Listen to your body and do not buy into anyone that tells you that you must do everything perfectly....or else why bother doing it at all. Taking a day off when you need it hardly makes you fail, right? If you are very sore, your body needs a day off to recover.
  • When did pizza become such a horrible thing? Seriously.... The dough isn't unlike bread, the sauce isn't unlike spaghetti sauce, some cheese isn't going to kill us immediately is it? And if you choose toppings like onions, mushrooms, broccoli, pineapple, or even meats.....then what, exactly, is so TERRIBLE about pizza that…
  • Eating some pizza is not a bad thing. Eating some pizza does not make a person a failure, nor does it make someone fail in their diet.....unless you are lactose or gluten intolerant or have an allergy to yeast, pizza is not the enemy, overeating is.
  • Almonds, Pecans, Walnuts, lots of fresh veggies and fruits, hard boiled eggs (make a bunch all at once, they last a long time), cheese or yogurt (if you eat dairy), and if you are very short on time (or just hate cooking) you can get canned meats/fishes.
  • I have a 32 ounce glass bottle that I fill up and drink 4 - 6 times a day,.....so....16 to 24 cups of water. I used to be one of those people that avoided water like a rabid cat, but once I forced myself to drink and reawakened my thirst center it's easy to drink that much now.
  • Breastfeeding is a natural normal process and if someone has a problem with it they might take the time to analyze themselves and find out why they have this problem ....
  • Throw away the cereal and just eat the box, there is probably more nutrition in it ;)
  • I am fairly certain that if I stop logging what i am putting into my mouth I will gain back every ounce of weight I lost. I truly believe that people just do not realize how much food and calories they are taking in.
  • Congratz!! I quit September 17th 2011.
  • I bet coyotes don't like pepper spray either.
  • The scale says that I have lost 40 pounds, the tape measure tells me that I'm getting smaller, and some of my clothes feel loose......but when I look in the mirror I still see the same old fat-me. This could be because I'm seeing tiny changes daily so it's not the more dramatic change that, say, a friend or relative might…
  • I hear you! It's the same old food I've been eating it all my life, so when I manage to NOT feel like eating I don't lol.
  • No.....I came here because it was free. If I had a lot of money I wouldn't need this, I would just have a personal trainer and chef :P
  • Maybe "YOU" have to eat breakfast if "YOU" want to lose weight, but I don't have to. Neither do many other people.
  • I only count drinking plain water as water intake. I don't count the water in my soup, broth, coffee, tea, crystal light, etc. Even solid foods contain water, I don't think that counts either. Take heart though, if you can find a way to make yourself drink your 8 cups a day, within a month or two you'll start to WANT it.
  • I usually eat every couple of hours, but that's just me. I also have my days where I hardly eat at all. I only eat when I know, for sure, that I am really hungry (and not just bored, depressed, or "on auto pilot"). I do not like breakfast, and I am not eating breakfast, and that's just how that is. I also sometimes eat in…
  • Try taking measurements in addition to using the scale, or taking pictures. There are times where the scale tells me nothing is happening, but my measurements are smaller. My son keeps telling me that every time I increase my exercise that I am probably building up some muscle, so he assures me I am losing fat, even…
  • Sweating when I am working out....awesome. Sweating from a hot flash......not so great ;)
  • You have been hurt by someone else, so don't hurt yourself, too. Sometimes it's hard, but it truly is important to love yourself and care for yourself just as if you were your own little kid. Be your own best friend! If all else fails, get some sugar-free fat-free substitutes for your favorite comfort food, and go to town…
  • Personally, unless small children and animals were running in fear of my extreme disfigurement I would not have any vanity surgery.....I've had too much regular surgery and it is awful enough. Give it some time, I hear it takes as much as a year or two for skin to reshape to the new body.
  • I didn't make my kids drink from cow. If they wanted it, fine, and if not that was fine too. It's a lie when we're told we need any products from cows, but even if someone has that ingrained in them and must partake of mama-cow daily then yogurt and cheese are dairy - so no worries.
  • Absolutely! I believe that plain water is an important part of the weight loss equation, and it also helps keep you full.
