  • This is as well how I added any strength training or mixed cardio/str before I got a fitbit. The strength section is more meant for keeping track of your reps/weights and not for tracking calories burned.
  • Day 6 was finished...will have to wait for day 7 until later this evening it is HOT HOT HOT! A nice crisp fresh salad from the garden and a day at the beach is about all we can do until it cools down. Hope everyone had an amazing weekend!
  • Day 3 and 4 done. The very busy previous weekend is hitting home and I'm pretty sure these squats kicking in are adding a bit on top too, haha. Just in time for a long weekend and a festival to walk around. Will still get the dailies done, even if I have to get the kids to do 'em with me while waiting for the parade.
  • Warming up before any intense exercise (strength training, HIIT, aerobics etc) as well as cooling down and stretching afterwards. If particular muscles are very sore using a foam roller or tennis ball to work out the kinks can be helpful (but be careful to not go too hard, it can make it more sore and even bruise) as well…
  • Day 2 done. @babysweets33 I hope your flare ends quickly and you are able to feel better and get back to normal activities soon (how horrible it is when lupus gets in the way  ).
  • Day 1 complete!
  • I'm in. Let's do this!!
  • Day 29 SKIPPED but sooooo worth it!
  • Still going strong! Have to catch up yesterdays workout ( was out of town for a concert Sunday night and a full day at the Zoo yesterday with the kids) but definitely have gotten quite a lot of exercise in over the beautiful weather we had this past weekend, my fitbit was kept busy.
  • I actually found that after long enough of regular tracking, it's an ease on my mind to have it done and know what I can eat within a day to still fit within my goals AND feel comfortable bending and having a splurge day once in a while. It doesn't feel like more work anymore (and definitely doesn't feel obsessive) it…
  • Didn't realize after catching up yesterday on day 1-4 of tricep dips and gut & glutes that today would be a rest day! Still had the first Wednesday of the 10 week challenge to complete along with my kettlebell workout. It's really hitting home that I have Mud Hero in just a couple weeks and have to be ready for it whether…
  • Starting a little late, but I love being able to add a little extra challenge onto my regular workouts and I definitely don't want to fall into a slump this summer.
  • I don't log sugar free gum (my brand of choice is 2 calories per piece) but if I snag some bubble gum I do log it, it can be surprising how much sugar can be in it and it definitely adds up.
  • Rock on guys! Congratz on your success so far. I love seeing couples succeed together!!
  • I use fitnessblender.com or Nerd Fitness workouts with my adjustable dumbbells. fitnessblender has a wide assortment of videos to choose from that make it fun and informative to follow along.
  • I believe so, at least I use them interchangeably when cooking with them LOL.
  • Love it! I also love adding paprika or crushed chili flakes on broccoli for some heat.
  • It was really hard at first to actually accept a compliment and not think either "oh they're just being nice" or "this is somehow backhanded and they really mean it as an insult." The longer I've stayed around the same size (not weight) the easier it has gotten. Maybe because less of the compliments revolve around "oh you…
  • put more butter in or on stuff :P I have this problem too some days when meals are soups/salads or grilled. Usually I make eggs with some cheese and/or bacon or some other yummy meat for an evening snack. I can always use the extra protein to hit my goal and they're filling and warm during these winter months. If I have…
  • Earlier this week I was getting a bunch of tests done including blood panel and x-rays. The X-ray technician came up with a couple obscure images and was really worried for a bit before they took the time to figure out they had mistaken my oblique muscle for my hip bone. We had a good laugh. I may still have a saggy mommy…
  • Honestly for me it was realization (the hard.... years of back and forth) that eating healthier, being a healthy weight and exercising made my depression and anxiety so much easier to handle. So much so, that now I am not taking any prescriptions for it anymore (vit d during winter and b12 still). Now I feel horrible the…
  • Thanks for the link, I look forward to listening later when the hockey game isn't on :P
  • pick what you want the serving size to be (1 tbsp, 1 oz, 1 ml, 1 cup etc) and just remember what you pick. Measure out that the recipe in that measurement and create the recipe using that amount of servings.
  • I have sciatic pain as well, due to SI dysfunction (and now possibly arthritis in the SI joints and my lower spine). I strength train more than I do cardio. My biggest advice would be to take it SLOW, concentrate on form and do not do any exercises that seem to make it worse (you can always try and go back to them in a few…
  • I have had my physiotherapist use it for SI dysfunction on my right side a few times as well as have a roll at home for when my fingers swell. It really helps with reducing range of motion to prevent more damage and swelling and because of that reduces pain and healing time. I totally think it works, at least from my…
  • So sorry to hear about the struggles you are dealing with. While I can sympathize with recent bad diagnosis (not cancer but difficult in its own way), difficult symptoms and setbacks I can't pretend to understand what you are going through. Two main suggestions I would have would be to take it slow, understand that your…
  • Second fitnessblender. Their videos are all on youtube but they also have their own site where you an easily search for exactly what you're looking for (high/low impact, beginner, no equipment, cardio, strength, flexibility, length, calorie estimate etc).
  • I've been with my man for 7 years now and he's seen my weight go up and down a few times (pregnancies, emotional eating, stress and laziness with young kids etc). My first time losing weight (before 3rd baby) he was super supportive, I think he liked the confidence I was gaining. The second time around much less supportive…
