I don't generally weigh veggies. I just eyeball those because I figure they aren't calorie dense enough to worry about. I agree with you- better to be eating too many veggies than too few!

Because I love accuracy. And because it keeps me honest. I've been at this for a long time and generally know about what an once of shredded cheese looks like (for example), but the extra 3 seconds it takes for me to measure it on my scale makes me feel confident that I'm accurately tracking my intake. I don't eat at a…

As long as your conditions are the same week to week, it's not "cheating." I weigh in first thing in the morning before I've had anything to eat. I'm sure it's the least I weigh all day long, which is perfectly fine with me. I'm down 1.2 this week, with a total loss of 12.2 lbs. =)

Agree completely. Also, a 12 oz can of diet soda (Pepsi Max in my case), has 2% of your daily sodium allowance according to the nutrition info on the can in my hand right now. I can never understand why people get so hung up on the tiny amount of sodium in diet soda.

Physician Assistant. =)

Yet another vote for Chobani 2% pineapple. I've also tried some of the Chobani Flips- both vanilla and strawberry are great!

Haha thanks for saying that! I'm really intimidated at the thought of doing zumba in public (I've never done an exercise class of any sort before), so I'm kind of using youtube zumba as a way to get comfortable with it and hopefully confident enough to try a real class sometime. Kind of like doing it this way though…

Honestly, my goal for December is to basically maintain what I've lost so far. I've never, in the history of all my weight loss attempts, not gained weight during December. If I manage to make it through the month maintaining where I am now or losing anything at all, I will be ecstatic! After this week, I will be on…

I desperately hope that you're fishing for compliments and that you don't actually believe that you have not been successful. 40 pounds in a year is AWESOME! 40 pounds in any time frame is an amazing accomplishment. Just think of the wonderful, long term implications this will have for your health. I've lost 12 pounds in…

I'm in for as long as people keep checking in. =) I don't have really any false hope that I'll be losing much/any weight over the next three weeks, but these check ins will hopefully give me one more tiny little push to keep on track- or at least more on track than I've ever been before in December!

Same! Birthday quadruplets. 1984 for me. =)

Hi guys! This is such a great idea of a group. =) My name is Kristen. I'll turn 30 in August 2014, and it's a big reason why I joined MFP this August, near my 28th birthday. I will actually be graduating from physician assistant school nine days before my 30th birthday, so I'm kind of viewing the time between now and then…

That's fine with me. It can be a 97 day challenge instead of a 90 day one. =) I like Saturday check-ins, because my "real" weigh in day is Friday, so this kind of forces me to behave myself Friday/Friday night.

Down 1.8 lbs this week! Pretty much ecstatic to see the scale move!

Then you are doing it right. Each 2 oz dry serving is 200-210 calories (depending on brand), so 8 oz divided 4 ways is a 200ish calorie serving for each person. The cooking process/water does not add ANY calories.

WOW! What a difference! Keep it up, girl. =)

YES! Those are things I would eat after drinking a "bong water" monkey boy from the Saloon. Ah, college life.
-
It does! I spent quite a lot of time during the summer of 1997 memorizing the words to MMMBop (and all the non-words/syllables in the chorus) and every other song on that album. Being 12 years old was such a fun time!
-
I know all the words to MMMBop and can sing it on demand, especially when I'm drinking. :blushing:

I had no idea this was an issue. I guess I've been being judged for my profile pic and its obvious car-ness, and I didn't even know it! C'est la vie. While that's not really the full reason, it's definitely an added bonus I guess. I don't exactly have the kind of body that I'd like to show off (yet), so the less I have to…

My plan is to eat whatever I want Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and then return to normal immediately after. I am also planning to increase my activity level to offset the damage a little. My main goal is to simply log everything I eat, just like I normally would. Same goes for Thanksgiving- I'll eat however I want…

I'm another weigher. I use a food scale (grams and ounces), measuring spoons, and measuring cups. I can be a pretty good eye-baller when I'm being honest with myself, but I find it waaaayyy too hard to give into temptation when I do things that way. Much easier to just keep using my tools and only resort to guessing when…

LOVE skinnytaste! Everything I've made from there has been amazing so far. =)

LOVE this story. What a wonderful NSV! I live in Williamsport and try to attend a LL game or two every year during the World Series. I hope to see you here one of these years!

I'm down 2.8 this week! Part of that is due I'm sure to donating blood yesterday, but I certainly didn't give 2.8 pounds worth!
-
Wow! What a difference! Fantastic progress. =)

You look wonderful! It's neat to see the change in you and your weight and also in what a year's growth looks like on your girls. =)

As you can see in this thread (and throughout this site), there are pretty divergent trains of thought on what constitutes "bad" and "good" food. I eat bread and pasta on a regular basis (had a tuna melt today and roasted veggies with pasta yesterday), mainly because they're cheap, I really like both, and I can't imagine…

I've lost 40 pounds and put it back on (plus), TWICE. I guess you could say I'm currently in round three. I went from 160-120 when I was 18. Then I went from 194-150 about 4 years ago. Now I'm 180.6, on my way back down from 194 yet again. *sigh*
