For me, personally, I end up very satiated for sometime on my usual dinner of Chicken breast, baby new potatoes with butter, a hard boiled duck egg and a good portion of vegetables. I find potatoes to be very filling for me personally, but rice, pasta, bread, not so much.

On the Ice Cream front, seeing as you seem to live in the Uk, there is a brand called Oppo that has just started being sold in Asda and Sainsburys and is on offer at £3 at the moment (usually £5 in Waitrose who were one of only two places selling it until last week). It is like 38-42 calories per scoop and pretty much all…

200 calories seems rather low for what must equate to over 2 hours of walking?

I would not necessarily say cake, lol, although cake is rather tasty. I just find if I try and cut out my potatoes, fruit, breakfast biscuits ... cut my carbs below a certain number, my depression seems to decline. It is always there, but much worse if I skip out on carbs during times when I am doing intense exercise as…

I just tend to think that CICO works for weight loss, but, personally, in terms of how I felt physically and in terms of my body composition, I had the most success keeping the majority of my diet to whole foods, or at least, as close to natural as possible. Sure, I still had some desserts if eating out and some chocolate,…

I used to do between 90 and 150 minutes, 5 - 6 days per week, sometimes longer if I had a long bike ride, but I was supremely fit back then and it took me time to build up to it. At that times, I was doing cycling, running, walking, boxing, circuit training, stationary bike ... just about everything and it was a huge focus…

I have never been a burger person, to be honest. The only burgers I have had of late were one at a small, local breakfast/diner style place that uses really high quality, thick, 100% beef and a Uk Restaurant called Bills, that does this amazing lamb burger... I was curious and wanted to try it. My 'fast' food of choice is…

Sometimes if you lower carbs as well as upping the protein, it can affect mood, depending on the individual and if they are already prone to mood issues.

Stocked up on 6 containers. My Asda only had the salted caramel and chocolate with hazelnut.

You actually look very thin in your profile picture so I would suggest putting that scale away and just weighing weekly. A scale obsession can very easily spiral into other things where you really do not want to be going. How tall are you ?

I hope you can get back to the gym soon and find a way to deal with the stir-crazy - maybe take up some sort of craft until you can get back at it ? Also ... 3 hours per day, every day, in the gym? I must say, I do not know where you find the stamina without needing rest. Even at the peak of my fitness, the most I managed…

It is priced £3 at Asda too, from what I can see. https://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/brands/Oppo_in_ASDA.html

Thanks for sharing this info, a bus trip will be in order tomorrow methinks.
-
Good to know as I have a large Asda that is a 5 minute walk away ... to get it before, I had to go quite a distance to the nearest Waitrose. Hoping my branch will get it in stock though I imagine it will be just as expensive ... cannot deny that it is more expensive than the more calorific options as even B & Js is on…

Used to have this as a part of our Sunday tea along with sardines on toast or banana sandwiches. Good memories. I still love malt loaf but very rarely eat it as nothing but a good hunk with a lot of butter will suffice.

The Blue Zones : 9 Lessons for Living Longer From the People Who've Lived the Longest - Dan Buettner Not purely nutrition but that comes into it a lot. Very interesting book.

I love sardines and in fact, you have made me realise I have not eaten sardines in probably over a decade if not longer... wow. I used to get them on toast as a kid for Sunday tea. Now I shall have to buy some. I am a big seafood fan, although I don't much like tuna and have never tried lobster.

You will be relieved to hear that I always eat the skin with my chicken breasts, on an every evening basis.

Same diagnoses, along with Asperger's, OCD, GAD, Clinical Depression and yeah... a lot to contend with. I have also relapsed after a long, long time of being relatively okay, beyond some bulimic periods. Am now underweight, but only just.

I am also an INFJ. Oddly, long time ago, I used to come out as INTJ but I think that was because I was living with an INTP who looked down on emotions, lol.

What sort of weight are you maintaining? Guessing, from your profile, you do an awful lot of running.
-
Cannot find the original reference to Myers Briggs, but it has been a longterm interest of mine. I am an INFJ - A

Cook a nice meal together - no reason a pro athlete cannot have a healthy meal too, and something like steak, baked potato, veggies, isn't too bad. Also no reason you cannot simply have smaller portions or save some calories during the other 6 days to give yourself more leeway. Homemade popcorn is a pretty healthy snack if…

No, my appetite is usually gone for an hour or two after as I go very hard on the Elliptical then do a sort of circuit routine with weights.
-
Nope, I like my vegetables plain and steamed and I love Brussels Sprouts. That said, I wouldn't turn my nose up to roasted vegetables or cabbage with bacon.
-
If you are indifferent to Keto then my suggestion is to simply opt for CICO, eating in a way that satiates you and makes you happy. The most successful maintainers I see here did not cut out any food group or do low fat, low sugar, low carb etc etc. They simply kept things in balance and adjusted according to what satiated…

Congratulations and good luck in the upcoming challenge of maintenance. Apparently that is the point at which many fail due to ceasing to log and work on continuing their lifestyle change. I hope you have that aspect all planned out.

I have no idea and can only speak from personal experience. I reached my leanest whilst practising IF 16/8 and training fasted but then I did a lot of training so it could simply have been that. I just tend to not much like eating in the daytime so naturally gravitate towards IF. As far as I know, however, there is no…

What a load of rubbish. I have eaten most of my calories from 8pm right until bedtime for the best part of 4 years now and have never had any issues losing or maintaining weight this way. I even eat biscuits or cake before bed. Evidently you do not realise that a pound or two up on the scale the next day means nothing…

Get a slow cooker and prepare some healthy and nutritious meals would be my advice. Or you can get all kinds of steamers for microwaves now. You can even get omelette makers for the microwave. Personally I have never understood the concept of using shakes and the like as that is not teaching a person to eat at a deficit…
