What sort of weight are you maintaining?
Guessing, from your profile, you do an awful lot of running.

130 +/- 5 for the last year and a bit. I run about HM distance or longer T-F, Marathon+ Saturday, 30kish Sunday training for competitive
performance against 100 miles. Chase the things that set your soul on fire right <3 ?

I also walk 15-20K steps a day in carting my kids to school and general momming.

    5’6” - 163.2 lbs - 2536 Calories

That’s my average calories over the last two months - I know it’s pretty dumb luck to have hit the same exact weight to the tenth of a pound last two weigh-ins (every two weeks). Sometimes I’ll step on just to see in between, but the variables aren’t “controlled” like when I do a proper weigh-in - same time, same amount to drink, fiber supplement the night before - and the numbers fluctuates between 161-165.

MFP gives me about 2300 for “Active”. Desk job, 30-45 Minutes of strength training, and 15-25 minutes of a CrossFit WOD 6 Days a week.

67, male, 5'8" & 158# here. MFP & TDEE calculators are always too high for me.

They estimate my maintenance cals at 2200-2700. And that's w/the activity level set at sedentary. I'd just get fat again at that level.

Was in maintenance for over a yr at 158 +/-3# on only 1800 cals. Started losing wt, so raised it to 2000 and then started gaining wt.

Dropped it back to 1600, which is my estimated BMR, to lose that weight and reestablish intake at 1800. This effort is still in progress.

Still w/in my desired maintenance range but it doesn't take much of a change to make my weight fluctuate. Got keep on it constantly.

I only look at Net Calories: And those are 1230 (I'm tall but age caught up to me metabolism wise - it's how I put on weight after 50). If I do more than 10K steps a day I can net 1400 and not gain. However, if I do 5K I have to be strict on netting 1200 or so or the scale starts going upwards. Exercise is critical for me.

MFP would certainly give me more calories, but either it lies or my logging does. Nonetheless, I've done this over 5 years and I know where my logged calories and MFPs come together for maintenance.

P.S. I shouldn't be low: I have never dieted before I started using MFP 5 years ago.

MFP number was too low (around 1430) and I continued losing weight. Through adding calories gradually, came up to 1600.
