  • Eat back your calories is being sure that you are not working out and starving your system! You need to eat back some or all of the calories that you burned off during exercise. If you don't you can slow your metabolism and slow your weight loss! HTH
  • I was 35 and 37. My sister in law was 37 and 39. I think you just don't have the same energy level, but I would not have done it any other way. I wanted to be established in my career and have grad school completed before family! Now we can do what we want to do and not have to worry about schooling getting in the way.

  • You may need to add a protein shake into your daily diet. This will give you protein and healthy calories. Check out Dashing Dish website for some great variations for protein shakes. My hubby will have one in the afternoon and then one before bed if he needs more calorie intake. Also as others have said - peanut butter,…
  • I use Wishbone Salad Spritzers - 10 pumps = 10 calories, 130mg of sodium. We also use Greek yogurt and salsa - very good and can be used on tacos, burritos, fish, potatoes as well.
  • Dont be discouraged!!! I to am married to a runner (ultra marathon guy). I had to start out slow. We have changed our diet for 30 days! to get a jump start. No extra sugars, unnecessary extra calories. I have also started to exercise more. 2-3 x week. If you work in a multilevel hospital...take the stairs! on your breaks…
  • I actually try not to eat my exercise calories! Why eat/drink what you just spent sweating off. You need to at least hit 1000 calories to avoid starvation mode. I have added high protein foods like Greek yogurt and cottage cheese to my diet. You may also try a protein shake, Vanilla with ice, berries, and banana for a…
  • You are one hot mama! Thanks for giving me some inspiration to get moving again and hit my goal.
  • You can use a recumbant bike! Just keep that foot off the pedal.
  • It is ok to flex your calories, so that your body does not get accustom to that set amount. Just be sure not to eat junk if you are trying to utilize your calories. Most importantly you don't want to be hungry! Eating some throughout the day is best, that way your body is not starving and using up all the good stores. Be…

  • I agree with many...Go to BED!!! Part of this is habit if you are up late you will eat more. have a 1/2 piece of fruit, glass of water and or some veggies. I find that when I get this craving I will reach for some frozen blueberries: sweet, cold, crunchy, and fulfilling.
  • Rather than the Chobani greek yogurt, not sure if you are getting the nonfat or not, try FAGE greek total zero. It has 23g of protein vs yours only has about 18. You can also buy egg whites, they come in a carton like egg beaters. Also chicken has lots of protein. HTH
  • Actually had this last night on brown rice. Added some steamed veggies and it turned out pretty good.
  • I brown up some beef or chicken chunks (1" cubes), heat up a can of black beans (usually carribean style), add a can of tomatoes with chiles and peppers, add Quinoa (cooked in broth). Mix all together and serve. I will put some sour cream on the table and chips and my family will eat it as a dip of sorts. Not sure of the…
  • I made Creamy Italian Chicken with brown rice the other night. I added lots of peppers, mushrooms, and some other veggis. I used the Italian herb and cheese creme. Calories per serving with 1.5c of brown rice 653 calories/serving. Eliminate the rice and you are only at 330calories
