  • Congratulations!!! Way to go, man! West Texas born and raised, here :drinker: I had 70 lbs to lose and like you, I took it day by day. It took me a while, but now I have less than 10 lbs to go. Kudos for wanting to help motivate people as well!
  • Love love LOVE rice with Cholula hot sauce. Esp the one with lime. So good! What about eggs? I like over medium with hot sauce. I burst the yoke, and it combines with the hot sauce to make a delicious and nutritious sauce for the rice. Now I'm hungry, haha!
  • I had a 20 year old earlier tell me that she is going to keep smoking while she is young and quit when she gets older because her lungs "won't be harmed since she is young". How.... How is a generation so ignorant? I seriously don't know how they even cross the street without getting ran over.
  • Impulsive eating. Sometimes my husband will come home from work and want to go out for dinner. I go too, instead of sticking to what I had planned out to fit my macros. When I get home and log the food, I'll have went over my cals, carbs, etc. It happens more often than I would like. Recently I was in an exercise funk, not…
  • I did complete vegetarian/clean eating with fruit and veggie smoothies and all kinds of herbal extras. I did lose some weight, but I plateaud and found myself unable to vigorously exercise. I will throw in the disclaimer that I myself did NOT fully research a vegetarian diet for an athletic person. So I probably did not…

  • Friday I ate 700 cals worth of pizza for supper. It was 2 slices. You know what I did afterwards? NOTHING. I worked out real hard that day and I decided to splurge wasn't that bad. It does suck when the food isn't good and you "wasted" cals on it. But you can't take it back. You'll be fine. Before I go out to eat, I…
  • That's so very sad. Parents should lift their children up, not bring them down. First off, have you told her the harm she is inflicting upon you? Second, if you have and she still persists, spend little time around her. You can't subject yourself to that unhealthiness. Most of all, ignore her! You don't owe anyone your…
  • That is AWESOME!!! Congratulations
  • Buffalo ground turkey salad. Ground turkey tossed in franks red hot buffalo sauce, on spring mix with half avocado on top.
  • I fell for it. Did it 7 days before I got married. It did help me gain willpower not to eat, which kind of helped me stop eating 3 cupcakes in one sitting. Other than that, it didn't do much. I bloated so terribly bad afterwards, I look like the Stay-puft marshmallow man in my wedding pics :/ That was the last gimmick I…
  • That she's a woman after my own heart (I love red lipstick!)
  • I have actually learned a bit by searching around here. But to calculate a basic idea of what you'll need, I would try http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ There you can answer info about your height, weight, activity level. Now the only flaws I have come across so far is that it suggests 1 g protein per lb of your weight.…
  • First off, congrats on your progress thus far :) I forgot how to post pics, but there is one on my profile page. I weighed about 170 throughout high school, so I was a little on the thick side, but not super overweight. When I got to be about 19, I started piling on the weight. By 21, I was 225. I stayed that way for a…
  • I have the Polar FT4 and I adore it! I was the opposite of most people and heavily underestimating my cals burned. When I tried to maintain a 1200 cal diet, my cal expenditure during a run or Insanity was close to 500. I felt tired all the time and weak. After seeing how many cals I burned, I knew it was time to up my cal…
  • I don't know exactly what you mean by "feel like fat", but I do know that when I retain water, it is especially noticeable in my face (as opposed to my abdomen). When I eat really high carb, I personally like to drink a lot of water the next day to help alleviate the water weight. I drink it with lemon.
  • Yes absolutely! I get intense cravings for salty sweet things (read: Kettle Corn) and last night I binged on a bag of it. Of course, it only makes things worse, as salt furthers the bloat and sugar is never good. I wish I could crave healthier things, haha! Maybe I should invest in an air popper. I usually only give into a…
  • I had no idea they single out fit people. That seems counterproductive. I know I have gotten excellent advice as a beginner from people that spend a great deal of time at the gym. I always wondered why people that are really into the gym make fun of PF. Now I know!
  • Mine is open to friends :) I am an "ok" example. On my good days, I would say I am a good example. But I have some epic mess up days. Probably once a week :/ But I do low carb/high protein/high fat/high fiber so feel free to add :)
  • Woohoo! Congrats :D It's sometimes hard to get into the habit of buying smaller clothes. Just remember you are now an XL so you won't be returning stuff a lot, haha

  • What a great feeling!!! Congrats! Pretty soon you will need smaller clothes  I graduated in 2004 and had gained 50 lbs after. I have since lost 63, so when I tried on my prom dress from '04 it was 2 sizes too BIG. Felt so awesome  Haha, I had written 'too small'. I need a nap, lol

  • My wedding ring doesn't fit either, and I used tape on the backside for a bit, but it got annoying so right now I am just leaving it as is and not wearing it. My husband doesn't care, so I will wait until I am at a weight I plan to be for awhile, then I will get it resized.
  • I use coconut milk (it's really thick) and sugar free hazelnut syrup. I add just a little vanilla extract or caramel flavored extract. It's really good :) I make it in bulk and keep it in the fridge for it to get cold. Then I just add it to my coffee as I like.
  • Congrats to you and your hubs!!! You are well on your way :)
  • Does your gym offer classes? They may seem hokey, BUT, if you do want that friend time and get a workout, do a Body Pump, Yoga, Zumba, etc etc ONCE A WEEK or so. That way, it has it's own pace and if she wants to leave, let her. But her slowness and want to change machines every 10 minutes won't be an issue :) I used to go…
  • Absolutely! I was at a standstill, then I bought a food scale. Changed my life (and my weight!). Use grams as they are most accurate. Definitely up your protein and make sure your carbohydrate rich foods come with fiber. Fiber minimum of 30g a day. It does a word of good. Opt for high fiber breads/tortillas/yogurt, etc.…
  • Aww, yeah Pantera :D Walk This Love Psycho Holiday Those are my faves!
  • I don't think that's dumb at all! It is great motivation :D I got excited when I could go down a notch on my wrist watch, lol!
  • Woohoo!!!! That's great :) I was always envious of the lady I babysat for because she was what I thought was a nice size. 9/10. I was a 16 :frown: But she lost some lbs and I lost a lot of lbs. I went online asking if anyone had 9/10s they wanted to give away ( I am a student and super poor), she replied that she did and I…
