Water retention?

Does water retention feel like fat? The last few days were high carb so. I didn't eat over my calories. But my abdomen seems softer?

I don't know exactly what you mean by "feel like fat", but I do know that when I retain water, it is especially noticeable in my face (as opposed to my abdomen).

When I eat really high carb, I personally like to drink a lot of water the next day to help alleviate the water weight. I drink it with lemon.

Yeah not sure what you mean by "feels like I gained fat" but if you mean you weigh more or you feel softer then yeah can be due to water retention associated with sodium or carbohydrate intake. If you didn't eat thousands of calories over your maintenance level its not fat. Do you think you would notice 1 pound of fat difference to your body? Imagine how many pounds of fat it would take to be noticeable then realize its 3,500 calories over maintenance level for each pound of fat. Now realize that its pretty easy to retain 5 pounds of water over the course of a day.

    Yeah, its water.
