  • I'll send you an add. I love running - got into it seriously last January when I ran my first marathon...it's only gone up from there! Love hearing about other people's running adventures and exploits.
  • I love reading about the people that have run marathons like this. It's my goal to do just that - 52 marathons in 52 weeks. It's definitely possible, but crazy expensive and time consuming for sure. I've done 11 races marathon distance or further so far.
  • 10 pounds would be tough. Basically, it would come down to your metabolism and activity level. My weight has since gone up, but last year I was around 158 lbs (at 5'4) in January and lost about 10 pounds in a month. I did that by watching what I ate (had between 1200-1800 calories a day) and running at least 3 times a…
  • You're amazing and inspirational! Congratulations!!! You look phenomenal!

  • I also had to click on this just because of the name. However, from the other side, being a girl that is well endowed, I LOVE when my boobs start shrinking - sometimes that's one of the biggest reasons I want to lose weight - it's much easier to run and avoid chafing and such while doing so with smaller boobs! (To put this…
  • You're an inspiration. Fantastic!!!
  • I generally burn at least 1000 calories during my workouts. I actually have that as my goal most days. Of course, I know it's not always totally accurate since I'm not using a HRM, but I figure if it's working (I'm maintaining or losing weight) then that's what matters. Additionally, I generally use similar equipment at…
  • I feel an odd sense of comeraderie within this group. It's not odd that it's there, but I almost feel badly that I feel close to everybody for having the same struggle as me! I wish we could all keep the weight off once and for all...it's so hard to get back on track after you gain weight back (I'm speaking from…
  • I feel your pain. Unfortunately, I don't have any good solutions. I'm actually in one of those backslides right now. I've been having serious issues sticking with any sort of reasonable eating for the last week or two. So much so that I'm gaining weight back! I know there must be some sort of psychological issues at play…
  • First of all, congratulations on the new family member!!! That's super exciting! I can imagine why you would have "fallen off the wagon," so definitely don't beat yourself up about it. I ran my first half marathon on Nov 5 (and about to do one for Thanksgiving). I didn't follow any specific plan, but here's what I would…
  • That's a pretty intense schedule you have planned. It's certainly possible to do, and I won't tell you you can't - because as the old saying goes, "Reach for the moon. Even if you don't reach it, you'll land among the stars." I would be careful, though, to make sure you give yourself some slack if for some reason you need…
  • Now that I've become pretty intense about my fitness and exercise schedule (I work out every day for at least 1 hour and up to 4 hours), I think it would probably be a deal breaker unless we were just dating casually. Otherwise, it would be too hard for me to keep up my routine when he didn't want to be involved at all.…
  • Welcome to MFP, Christy! I've been on here for almost a year now (although my weight has fluctuated throughout that time, it's certainly not because I didn't have all the tools!), and I love it. I'm glad you found it, and hope you find all the support and tools you need to continue your journey. Best of luck!
  • bjbixler: Congratulations on your long run for the week and the mud run!!! That's very exciting. I wanted to do a mud run this year, but not by myself...unfortunately my family was out of town so I passed this time. Instead, I signed up for a 15K race last Saturday, and am very pleased to say that was my longest run…
  • Keep your head up, sumertime_girl. You have probably read all of this before, but just some rest for your knee, ice and ibuprofen may help. I started running about six months ago, and have have my number of issues - foot and leg pain, shin splints and side cramps - all of which seemed to almost naturally resolve themselves…
  • This is probably a little late (as I see this group started in the beginning of September!), but I'm running a half marathon as well and would love to get in on this. I'm running the Rock 'n Roll Savannah one on November 5th. Super excited! I just started running this year and have since run four 5K's...I'm sort of doing…
  • Agreed, I think about this during the weigh ins...when a girl has a bad week, sometimes I think that could be part of the reason. Because my weight definitely goes up at least 2-3 pounds right before then.
  • I try to do it just once a week, but I tend to actually do it a couple of times a week (just whenever I feel good about my weight...i.e., not the day after going out to eat). Weighing everyday is always a big no-no for me since my weight will fluctuate throughout the week, which can be discouraging!
  • This sounds like fun! I'm not planning on reaching my ultimate goal weight until June, but this will cover most of that period! Jan 3rd: SW 162 lbs. 10th: 17th: 24th: 31st: Feb 7th: 14th: <<goal 150>> 21st: 28th: Mar 7th: 14th: 21st: 28th: Apr 4th: <<goal 140>> 11th: 18th: 25th: <<goal 137>>
  • I weighed in at 166 this week. Down another few pounds. I checked Friday and I was at 165, but one pound came back - not sure how! Right now I'm at my Christmas goal weight, though, so I guess I can't complain much! Good luck with the holidays everyone. :)
  • Awesome job! That's an amazing accomplishment!
  • I agree with this. One of my best friends is a size 3 and gets more attention than any of the rest of my friends and I (ranging from size 7-13 (even with B-cup breasts!). She doesn't have much of a butt either...I think a lot more guys than admit it to their SO like thinner girls. I whole heartedly agree with the last…
  • I was out of town in Las Vegas over the weekend...so I didn't want to weigh-in right away after eating all those buffets. I had a nightmare about gaining five pounds last night - so I had to check today! I'm down 3 pounds! 167 pounds for me.
  • I'm joining a little late, but thanks to MFP I know exactly how many days I've worked out so far. Only missed today so far - and I plan on hitting the gym after work! Best of luck to everyone! Monday, December 6 Nancy - 4 Dounia - 4 Mollie - 5 Jill - 5 Lana - 5 Amie - 4 Mia - 3 Lee- 2 Diana (hessond) - 5 Cnbethea - 4…
  • 170 as of yesterday! I'm down another 2.5 pounds. :)
  • I'm sorry you're hungry! What I try to do is make sure I workout almost everyday so that I can eat a little more than usual (no matter what I eat, if I only have 1200 calories I Will be hungry). Also, protein is an appetite suppressant so I would recommend eating more protein (I actually have a protein bar for breakfast…
  • I am in the same boat. I never have wanted to date people overweight like myself. I'm attracted to very thin athletic guys. I've been lucky enough to find guys like that even being overweight, but it is hypocritical. I have a very overweight close guy friend that only ever wants to be with fit trim women...and then wonders…
  • That's great - Live it up! I would and probably will do the same thing at some point, haha. Always fun to know somebody wants you that treated you badly or threw you away. Have fun!
