a pound is a pound - BY WEIGHT. a pound is NOT a pound - BY VOLUME instead of comparing muscle and fat, replace with feathers and bricks. A pound of feathers weighs exactly the same as a pound of bricks. BUT, if you measure the same by volume, the feathers will take up WAY more space than the bricks.

get a proper fit at a running store. Going to the local sports store and buying the cutest pair will not work.
-
I read a running article just yesterday that says to try for 180 footstrikes per minute.

I agree with Nick. Anything that would have been a minor injury would have subsided by now. Also, if it ends up being a ligament tear, swimming is one of the WORST things you can do on it. Stationary bike was all I was allowed to do after I blew my knee...

yup. Best bet though is to use a heart rate monitor to be certain of your burn.

No offense, but no fitness equipment sold at Wal-Mart will last for the long haul. My F63 folds up and has wheels. I can move it rather easily. I watch streaming video on my iPad while I run, and have never had issues hearing anything, since the mill has built-in speakers.
-
Sole - all the way! I think mine is the F63. Love it. My sister and her hubby have one too. Best home use , reasonably priced mill on the market. Motor is equivalent to what is used in commercial models....

I call it house Karma! :)

no they don't have to reply. Not considered good form, but definately in the realm of possibility. They could feel your offer is too low, have been told that there is another offer coming in and are stalling, etc....

If your armband stays on during the accident.

Newton's are cool - so many options within the shoe itself! :)

I had a 405cx, and returned it. I now use a Suunto T3d and the Runkeeper app on my iPhone. The garmin will only track your HR and GPS track. The phone app allows you to still track and log your runs with the GPS in your phone, but also lets you set up intervals, training runs, AND combines with your iTunes playlists.....…

this is only partly true - and custom insoles will run you between 3-500 dollars. Depending on your gait, you will still need the RIGHT shoe for you. Cushioning, stability, etc. I had the orthotics made, and they worked for awhile, and then the pain came back. I have since switched to Reebok RealFlex runners, and it is…

Running shoes are very personal. What works for me,would likely suck for you. Each runner's foot is sooooo particular. The shape, position of ankle bone, etc... Find a GOOD running store and get fitted. Make sure they video your gait and determine the best shoe for you. Try on a lot of different pairs and sizes. I had to…

HR is fine - I acutally ususally sustain about there with my trainer. Hip pain - could be a number of things - your gait, your shoes, muscle imbalance, etc. Have you had your stride/shoes evalutated at a running store?

Not sure how this will help responders when you phone is crushed by the car that just hit you too?
-
Its like 15 bucks??!!! Seems to me small price to pay for a quick way to convey info to a responder....

Road ID. period. I recently had a friend get seriously injured while rock climbing. His ICE contact in his phone was useless, as the phone was dead. I then asked a friend that is an EMT, and she said in the two years on the job, she's NEVER used an ICE contact in a phone. Her G/F, who is a cop, has a few times, but not…

runkeeper! Free, Integrates with my playlist, allows me to do my 1/2 training intervals.

I've been using a trainer 1-2 times per week since last January. She makes me do stuff I would never make myself do. I've pushed past sooo many barriers because of her ( and not just the losing of 40 pounds and running a freaking half marathon!)
-
I've worn my HRM during - you don't burn nearly as much as you think you do! ;)

Bike brands are a lot like shoe brands. Everyone has a preference, but what fits me may not fit you. I'm a TREK rider exclusively.

This... Made from neoprene, so my phone had never gotten wet.

What's wrong with real bacon? Get center cut, and bake it on a rack instead of frying it. Get a cookie sheet, line with foil, and then place a rack on the sheet. Spray the rack liberally with Pam, and then place the bacon on it. Bake it at about 425 for 20 mins or so. YUMMO and less greasy!

Check out Athleta, Title Nine and Luluemon. All good sources for bras for girls with big twins! :)

I had fried chix, mashed taters and mac and cheese for lunch yesterday. I burned it. AGAIN - NOTHING IS OFF LIMITS! geesh.

After a year of this - and one half marathon finished, I've stopped looking micro at each day. Since I KNOW my long runs will result in a deficit that day (sometimes I can't even get out of th negative), I've started planning on a more macro scale by the week. I might be over on my rest day, but under on others - it all…
