Get a cute little basket or container for your desk. Stick a motivational sticker or encouraging sign on it. In the morning go "shopping" in the break room and only put a few snack items in your basket. That's your allotted snacks for the day. You can change up your choices every day to keep it fun. Alternatively, before…

Hi there, hope everyone is having a fabulous week so far! I'm 40 years old and I live in Hawaii (island of Oahu). I joined MFP over two years ago and got results during the five months I stuck with it. I just started up again two days ago, weighing 143.4 lbs. at 5'6". My goal is to lose 15 pounds. My clothes simply don't…

Today I will stay on track because yesterday I did not.

"Hey, I see you like (insert crappy food). Have you ever tried (insert healthy alternative) as a substitute?? It's fricken phenomenal AND saves some calories. You should totally try it! Keep up the good work!" ... or some variation that encourages your MFP buddy.

My biggest advice is to relax. Your frustration, although understandable, won't make things better. My other bit of advice is, don't think she's doing things on purpose to irritate, spite, or get back at you. She has an illness and isn't the same woman she was ten, twenty, thirty years ago. I'm not saying she's NOT using…

My breakfast protein shake is 200 calories. Fast and simply while I run out the door in the morning for work.

I was at Disneyland and California Adventure this past December. Best thing to do, stock up on healthy fruits and snacks from Target and take it with you into the park. For regular meals, most restaurants have "healthy" options on their menus. But honestly, restaurants weren't really a huge part of our Disneyland trip, it…

10 lbs. in 7 weeks

Sounds like OP has been actively trying to lose weight for a while and she's in her last two week stretch. If that's the case, I don't think 6 lbs. in two weeks is realistic. Try just sticking to healthy food, keep yourself hydrated with lots of water, get plenty of sleep/ rest, and exercise. You may not lose all the…

I'm glad your husband is doing so well. Sending a FR now.

Give her an apologetic smile and tight hug. Tell her that you love her and would never knowingly hurt her feelings. You weren't aware that your comments affected her so much and from now on you'll tone it way down because now you know it bothers her. You need to forgive yourself for this and keep moving forward. Good luck.

Lots of different views and mostly good discussion. I'm still trying to figure out how to tackle my first holiday season since eating healthier and exercising. Thanks OP for asking this question. Do what you feel is right for you. From your posts, you seem like a very thoughtful person so I'm sure you'll be mindful of…

Reminds me of Pushing Daisies - so sad that show got cancelled!

I love and prefer the treadmill because I feel like a push myself more and my arm motion is more natural. With that said, I've completely messed up my right knee over the years and can no longer run without suffering weeks of pain. Now I'm on my elliptical every day and my joints thank me for it.
