  • This exactly!! Couldn't have said it any better.
  • How come no one has mentioned the guy in the poncho?
  • I wondered the same thing. I, too, just threw random stuff in. Boy, was that a mistake!! I learned that my juice and smoothies had over 300 calories and 65 grams of sugar!! I went and bought a couple of juicing books that had nutritional info for each juice. There are lots of juicing books out there, so make sure you find…
  • Yes. The HRM will be accurate. I did Power 90 with my HRM. Just make sure that your stats are correct on your monitor and you should be good to go.
  • I decided on the Capezio DS11 in Red/Black. They have great ankle support and felt great on the test floor in the shop.
  • I did check out the Zumba shoes on their site, however, they had some not so stellar reviews. The shoes tend to be very hot, too loose in the toe, and have no support whatsoever.
  • I sit in the sauna for about 30 minutes before each workout to warm up and stretch. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, so the heat feels great on sore muscles and joints. I also find that I burn more calories during my workout because the sauna elevates my HR. However, be wary of saunas and steam rooms if you have a skin…
  • For me, the main trigger of a flare is TOTM. I will never give up foods just to ease my RA. I love food to much!! I've lived with it for 16 years and counting anyways.
  • Yes. The fat under my arms is becoming denser, like, not as squishy. However, it is incredibly painful.
  • Do not do a set of 5 reps then sit and play with your phone, iPod, etc. for 20 minutes and then get pissed when someone asks to work in with you. By work in, I mean if you are doing a lot of sets, sometimes a person will ask to "work in". This is where each of you will alternate using the machine by sets. Oh, and take a…
  • He is only there late at night. Geez, I don't want to sound stalkerish, but he only works in the weight room. I see him when I go in there and in passing. We do the same workout stuff, but still, I'm way too shy.
  • Awe man, now I have to add fruit to the DO NOT EAT list!!!
  • So, if you eat enough sand and water, then sit in a super hot sauna for a very long time, will you poop glass? Anyhoo, I love nonfat milk and yogurt and cheese and the list goes on. I thought I was doing good things by having milk and yogurt in the same day, but my trainer told me to limit my intake to one serving per day.…
  • This is so frustrating for me too. I've wondered too why doesn't MFP increase your daily allowance for sugar like it does for other macros when you add in exercise. I love fruits and veggies. I've also recently started juicing which is killing my sugar. Just one fruit drink, using whole, fresh fruits had 56g of sugar!!!…
  • Beer, Alfredo sauces and marshmallows. Even thinking about marshmallows makes my teeth hurt.
  • Oh no. Mom just walked in and gave me the latest edition of Prevention magazine with you-know-who on the cover touting foods that heal. Pasta cures, a chocolate prescription and the guide to eating pizza and not taking pills to cure yourself of your ails. Really.
  • Welcome! You are not alone. My wake up call came from the doctor as well. Just remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint. You will have super lows and epic highs. Start slow and stick with it. You CAN do it!!! :flowerforyou:
  • I take 1.5 cc (about 37.5 mg) of methotrexate weekly with Simponi injections once a month. I switched to injections about 10 years ago because the pills were making me very sick. I still get nauseous with the injection, so I always have some ginger ale to sip on. I give the shots to myself in the stomach with insulin…
  • As I live in Southern California, I can attest that the last statement is true. Except today, one of them asked me for a hot dog AND a cigarette!!!
  • Unfortunately, I cannot stop taking Seroquel. I have battled Bi-Polar Disorder for 10 years and have tried numerous medications. Finally, after 6 years, I have found a combo of drugs that control it. Seroquel is one of those drugs. Plus, I am legally bound by the court system to follow my psychiatrist's orders and to take…
  • Bump. I am curious to what people say. I have the same kind of schedule and the same kind of problem. I avoid the high fat, etc. foods, but I am just not hungry when I should be.
  • *insert Homer Simpson voice* mmmmmmm...donuts....<---drools
  • Sadly, this really does exist and is exasperating for people trying to lose weight. Our "awake" brains and bodies work so hard to eat right and exercise, but our "asleep" brains have their own agenda. I am really hoping I get some sort of answer from my sleep doctor. I eat between 1400-1800 calories a day. Usually closer…
  • Oh yeah. I am constantly telling my Mom that his "revolutions" don't work. Every time I go to Costco, she wants me to pick up the latest Dr. Oz miracle weight loss pill. I used to watch him, but then some of his "do this" schemes just got too hair-brained. I feel the same way about "The Doctors". I used to watch them…
  • This exactly. I don't have any children, but my sleeping brain knows exactly where the junk is!!! I know it has definitely affected my weight loss as well.
  • For those of you that do sleep eat, do you regularly eat breakfast? Are you on an eating schedule? I try to eat through out the day, such as yogurt or fruit and often find myself not hungry at dinner time. But 6-7 hours later, I'm sleep eating.
  • I have a baby gate in the door of my room to keep the dog in when I'm asleep or out of the house. I've become a pro at unlocking that bad boy when I'm hungry!!
