I tried loosely following the C25K program for about three months last year. I was only able to jog 1-2 times/week and I couldn't always progress as fast as the program. I got to 20 minutes of slow jogging and was quite proud of that but then stopped because I started working a second job and couldn't fit it into my…

I am a single mom of 3 working both a full time and a part time job. My first year I onlyt worked out from home, either using a dance or exercise game on my Xbox or a 20-30 minute workout on youtube. There are lots of 20-30 minute workouts to be found and you might want to check out Fitness Blender or BeFit channel.…

@bellesouth - the trampline goals sound awesome! I hope you post some videos. For 2014: - Stay injury-free - Deadlift 225 lbs. - Hip Thrust 315 lbs. (might try to get this one done by end of 1st quarter) - If my gym ever gets a squat rack I'd like to get to 130 lbs on squats. - Do a set of 10 pull-ups - Learn to do a free…

I tried both resistance bands and bodyweight exercises for strength training and found that the bodyweight exercises were easier to stick with and more practical to progress with. I used a book called Body By You, which is similar to You Are Your Own Gym, only it is designed for women and has easier progressions. There are…

Take heart, Sandra! You've already made a good deal of progress! I'm 41, I started losing weight a year ago and have gone from about 40% bf to 26%. I understand wanting to wake up in the morning and see a skinny, or at least skinnier, person in the mirror. The most important thing is to have patience with yourself. In the…

^This. I kept my married name. I also still have my maiden name as a middle name. I thought about changing my last name to something completely different/random, but it's kinda like a tattoo... I like the idea but can't think of anything I'd want stuck to me permanently.

I've been a little piggie myself and have gained back some weight this last week. But I'm enjoying having a gym with weights! It doesn't have a squat rack, which is an issue, and I just found a new gym that opened a few weeks ago that is charging less per month so once this month is over I might do a trial week at the new…

I also recently had a dexa scan done, it was my second scan. I didn't know what to expect for my first one, so I just used that number as a baseline to track progress. At the time I wanted to find out my lean mass so I could set my macros more accurately. Knowing an 'accurate' number didn't make me feel differently about…

I don't think I've lost any inches and the kids ran off with my measuring tape so I may need to acquire a new one. Tomorrow I'm going to have a bf% test to see how much fat I've lost since April. I've lost about 10 lbs and am curious to see how much was lean mass and how much was fat. Monday - Conditioning Workout 3…

I really can't speak from experience because I wasn't very active before or during any of my pregnancies other than walking. I don't think I'd change activity levels if it's what you've been at all along. I would think it more of a problem being underweight or too lean, which I know can cause periods to stop altogether.
