For me, diet and exercise are great supplements. But on their own they weren't enough. In fact at times I was so depressed I couldn't get myself off the couch to do the exercise or eat right. Talking to my doctor and starting an antidepressant has helped me immensely. I couldn't fix myself and finally had to ask for help.…

Lately for me it's been two eggo nutrigrain waffles, a tablespoon of whipped cream cheese on each, with fresh berries on top.

Congrats! That is amazing!

I can totally relate and I've been through that cycle before. I've been logging consistently for the past two and a half weeks and it was spotty before that. What I've found is that if I just do it no matter what, I feel better. Even if I had a bad food day, if I log it I know it's a step in the right direction. Just log…

I love Cooking Light! Thanks!

Thanks for posting this... I've been wondering too!

I went on a date with this guy who I met through some friends. After dinner, we wanted to go back to his place to "watch a movie". Unbeknownst to me, he had a pet bush baby (monkey type animal) that he let roam around his apartment. It was hopping around the living room when we got there. Then it hopped on my shoulder and…

I love fiber one bars and go for the oats and chocolate or peanut butter ones.

I love my Polar FT4. You can get one on Amazon and it comes with a chest strap.... great buy and reasonable price.

Yeah, I think you'll notice a HUGE difference if you don't eat that skin. They're so yummy! It's worth the work. :)

I make sure to peel them very carefully... That thin white skin in between each section is what gives it the bitter taste, and I found that when i remove all of that skin I they're much less bitter and I actually like the flavor. That takes a lot of work and paper towels though lol If you still don't like it after peeling…

Yeah I put mine under water for a second every time I use it. Also, I make sure to wash it every five times or so that I use it. I found that if I don't do that, I get inaccurate readings. Follow the instructions for cleaning it regularly and you shouldn't have a problem though. I love my HRM!

I've found it's best to compare myself to myself. Not only what I may have looked like 6 months ago, but how my habits have changed, and how I'm becoming more healthy. Like someone above said, there will always be someone smaller, cuter, smarter or more *fill in the blank* than me.

I'm at about 35 days this time around... 415 is amazing! Good work!

Thank you so much for this post! I tried the Indian shrimp and butternut squash last night and it was really good. Even my bf liked it! :)

I have a Polar F4 and I love it. I use it both on the machines and when I do boot camp classes or work out videos. It seems to be pretty accurate and consistent. The only time I've gotten strange HR readings is when it's time to wash the chest strap. Wash it in the washer, let it air dry and works like a charm the next…

Ann Arbor here... Welcome!

7 pounds in three weeks is great! It definitely is an adjustment at first, but it won't be uncomfortable forever, and it's totally worth this uncomfortable time. Remember not to be too hard on yourself, and give yourself a "cheat" meal every now and then (maybe once a week). That way you won't wind up feeling deprived. I'm…

I'm so glad you posted this! I drink more than enough water throughout the day, but slow down as it gets closer to bedtime so I don't wake up having to go throughout the night. Then I wind up feeling parchedand cotton-mouthy. It's uncomfortable but I LOVE sleep so I just wait till morning for water.

I exercise just as much for my mental health as for my physical health. I'm in Michigan and the dark winter days are starting so I find exercise very helpful. As others have said, I would try switching up my regimen if you find it not working as well. Maybe take a class so you're working out with and meeting other people?…

So glad you found the site! People are so supportive here and the community section really keeps me motivated. I don't post much, but definitely read it daily. I'm also just under 5'0 and trying to get to the 120 range. I know how much the extra weight shows for those of us who are smaller.... WELCOME!!!

Thank you for this... I have a whole DRAWER of jeans I used to be able to fit into. I miss them so and my excuses don't help me get back into them. You can do it!

I'm adding you... I'm 5'0 with about 20 lbs to lose. UGH!!!
