I like using macros not as a "rule" but as guide. For me the most important thing is to listen to my body. If I'm hungry I increase my intake, if I feel stuffed...let it go. But use macros to keep track of vitamin/mineral intake so I'm not undernurished. Sometimes I feel stuffed because my body doesn't have the fuel it…

Congrats Ellen! So happy to hear about your new found love. I know for years I struggled with cardio endurance & knee/joint pain whenever I tried to run. A few years ago I discovered the principle of mid foot strike & WOW(!), I was in heaven. Grateful the weather is cooling off now & i can start longer runs in the…

Love this! But regarding motivation...have you every done body mass measurements? They can be a GREAT tool to track weekly/monthly fitness progress.

I agree. I have found the best results when I've been honest about where I am, made a plan to improve & done my best to show up for my life today. Someday's that means I'm @ the gym @ 4am & in bed by 8pm & think I've knocked it out of the park, some days the best i have is a walk around the block. But no matter what I get…

I would so love to learn to knit!! But I can't, so my motivation is the way I feel when I'm doing the thing I believe matter (eating healthy, exercising, meditating & resting). It feels good to know I'm the BEST version of me I can be today.

So sorry for your loss. When I lost my Dad I suddenly found myself disengaged & questioning the purpose of things that I normally enjoyed. I hope you give yourself a chance to feel, find the joy she brought to your life & pass that joy onto others. When I have found myself struggling to get the gym (or a workout/run) back…

"Bite Me", "Would you like to get together @ the gym later" & "That is a great idea, I'll look into that if I ever reach a plateau." I've found them all to be effective depending on how annoyed I am. But the unfortunate thing is that most people who offer unsolicited advise are talking out their *kitten*. Suggesting things…

Through the years I've been on both sides of the weight scale. ;-) Today it's more about learning to be the best me I can possibly be. I've let my body lighten when I wanted to run farther, or gain when I wanted to lift more. But I've spent couple years focusing more on good nutrition, regular exercise I enjoy, & finding…

Have you ever looked @ your stride/landing? Check this out. I was amazed how much form helped me increase endurance & reduce pain. http://www.goodformrunning.com/learn-good-form-videos/166-forefoot-versus-midfoot-versus-heel-strike

Drink water...I start my day by drinking 8-16 oz right out of bed, with the idea of drinking 20 before breakfast. If your anything like me, I had to learn to drink a glass of water before I poured a cup of coffee. Try setting a glass by your coffee pot so you don't forget. You may also want to try carrying fresh vegetables…
