  • Um, I'm not certain but I think she means doubling up as in taking the pill AND using condoms, not using two condoms simultaneously, but I could be wrong! People do the darndest things.
  • Most processed food, but particularly crackers. They are banished!
  • That is a major milestone! Very happy for you and proud of all the hard work and dedication it took to get to this point.
  • JUst FYI- Stress is a huuuuge contributor to the formation of belly (or visceral) fat. More exercise when you have time for it, will help with both the stress and the fat. Cutting carbs will too.
  • Please have him email my husband. Stat.
  • If you make your diary open and public, we can take a look and try to help. The usual suspects may be to blame- not eating enough calories, too many carbs, not enough water, too much sodium. I find that when I really take an objective look at my past few weeks of intake, I can see where I have tripped myself up.
  • I first tried rooibos when visiting South Africa. It really is delicious and naturally sweet. It used to be kind of exotic and hard to find, but I now see it in most grocery stores called "red tea."
  • Marinate them with a little olive oil, garlic, lemon and spices, skewer them on a stick and grill them on medium heat for a few minutes- deliciousness.
  • I'm right there with you, sister. Frustrated as can be, but I am not giving up. Changing my workouts, cycling my calories, staying strong. That scale will budge.
  • You're asking the question. There's a sign. (I had my kids at 36 and 40 respectively, yet no one is ever truly "ready." Know that the love I know now is exquisitely unparallelled. My children are the best thing I ever did and I've done some pretty great things.)
  • I have had the same problem. Never was a real veggie lover, but I am getting better week by week. I try to eat cucumbers or broccoli with fat free dip as a snack during the day or marinated tomatoes and cukes. I also make a yummy Asian broccoli slaw with spicy peanut dressing that goes great with grilled chicken. Pure…
  • Cucumber slices with fat free dip are my new go to snack when I have the munchies. I can eat an entire cucumber for like 30 calories and feel zero guilt. And this from someone who used to eat a box of processed crackers in a sitting. Veggies with hummus is another great idea that adds protein. Try to roast some chickpeas…
  • Nope. I love chunky. Especially Peanut Butter and company. Yum.
  • Ah, we're all the same height but such different body types. I'm 5' 4" and weigh 218 lbs. I wear a very loose size 16, *almost* a 14 in bottoms and wear a size large in tops. My goal weight is 140 and at the rate things are going I imagine I will be in a size 4 or perhaps even smaller upon arrival.
  • Gradually build up your workouts, because sure enough, the more you work out, then the more energy you will have available. Also...get enough sleep!

  • Until MFP configures a work-around, just go to gmail.com and sign up for a separate free account. Set up in 2 minutes. Done.
  • But as someone above previously mentioned, HRM's are to be used to track workouts only, not resting calories expended. You should only be wearing it for the duration of your workout, then recording only that session in your daily burn.
  • Perhaps you should schedule a meeting with a nutritionist to help you transition in to maintenance and help you let go of the obsessive need to worry about every bite.
  • Hallelujah! Just in time for mother's day too. Just keep going, choice by choice, day by day. It really truly works. Don't give up on yourself. You are worth it.
  • Seriously. I would never put up with any such crap. They would quickly become an insignificant other.
  • They do not exist. If they did, no one would be obese.
  • My adult niece just presented with a similar allergy to fresh fruits with the skins on. The doctor suggested an easy fix- just put whatever fruit or vegetable you are going to eat into the microwave for 30 seconds before eating and it effectively destroys the part of the veggie that causes the allergy. Hope this works for…
  • I have been wearing mine on my middle finger for now. It doesn't look as good, but I am wearing them at least!
  • Oh my goodness- so glad to hear this! I have added a ton of weight training this week and the scale suddenly popped up 3 or 4 pounds! I was horrified to see since I have been doing so well. Good to know.
  • Everything you listed is highly processed and processed foods almost always have tons of added sodium. Keep things as close to nature made it as possible to avoid this. I love cucumbers slices dipped in greek yogurt, apple slices, unsalted almonds, clementines, grapes (try them frozen) roasted chickpeas to satisfy that…
  • That is fantastic!!! Own it, skinny!
  • Oh yes. I must agree. My immune system has improved dramatically since dedicating myself to adding whole, healthy REAL foods and forsaking processed fake stuff. Even when my two little children bring all those preschool "bugs" home, I am staying strong and healthy. Not to mention the fact that my heart is healing so…
  • You need more than what he is willing/able to be for you. He does not sound nearly as mature or motivated as you are at this phase of your life. Get out and see the world. Grab hold of life and really LIVE. Don't sit around waiting for life to happen. MAKE the life you want. Trust me on this. I did it! xx
  • Crackers, nuts, anything high in carbs with small pieces that easily go from "just a handful" to out of control. Back AWAY from the package...
