  • Shark week will cause me to gain regardless of how good I'm being.
  • I second, third or...forth? the recommendation of broth. I was constantly nauseous until I made it a daily drink (I haven had mine yet and I'm not feeling so good). I also add salted butter, which makes it creamier and I couldn't stand it in my coffee.
  • Are you tracking your measurements? I had one treat meal from Sept 4-Dec 22, and there was quite a few weeks where the scale fluctuated but never really seemed to move downward. However, every week I lost 1/4"-1/2" somewhere. My waist for example, lost 4" the whole time I was committed to keto. Having these increments,…
  • Mine is open to friends. Please add me if you want.
  • I found that my problems with fat and oils only seem to be when I eat them with high amounts of carbs. Once I reduced them, all my digestion issues seemed to disappear.
  • Stash Premium licorice spice. The longer you let it steep the sweeter it gets without getting bitter. I fight with letting it steep as long as I can or drinking it right away. I used it to wean myself off my 3tsp sugar and cream orange pekoe. Just love it. It's nice iced too.
  • I may be a weirdo but I like it chopped up into chunks in a bowl with full fat mayo or ranch dressing. You can still do wraps. I substitute the wrap with big green lettuce leaves. Make sure all sauces are as low carb as possible with lots of fat. I can wrap anything in lettuce. Tuna, chicken, egg salad, cream cheese with…
  • I survived thanksgiving here in Canada pretty well. As the food will be almost identical I think I'll be ok at Christmas. I'm not planning to restrict myself but I find these days I don't really have a sweet tooth anymore. It will be some of the savoury things I've been dreaming about, stuffing, gravy, potatoes...I may…
  • I have two cups of coffee with 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp whipping cream and 2 tbsp coconut oil. I follow that up with a cup of broth about an hour later otherwise I get a little nauseas. I'm good to go till 1 or 2.
  • I have bulletproof coffee (or my version of it anyway) nearly every morning. I got the keto flu pretty badly at the start of week two and can still feel nauseas if I don't drink broth a couple times a day and make sure I get my water. I've never really measured with Ketostix because I started seeing changes in my body…
  • I was thinking chicken or turkey may be good to start with. I wasn't thinking of sauces because I've been avoiding them but I'm sure I could figure something out. Maybe a butter/cheese sauce to make up for the lack of fats compared to pork and beef? I'm just scared of loosing muscle and am trying to meet the min of 50-60g…
  • I don't know if anyone can predict what will happen. My advice is be good to yourself. Slow and steady wins the race. You have your body for life and taking care of it now will ensure you are enjoying it throuhout all your years. It is awesome that you have made a decision to get healthy at such a young age, and forming a…
  • I only baked the Poppers at 400. I will try a broil next time. Having problems finding daikon at any of our grocery stores here :-( Going to try baked green beans next. :-P
  • I just found my macros like you did and did my best at the start to meet them. Days 3 and 4 were the worst for cravings but then all of a sudden I wasn't hungry for anything and seemed to need to make myself eat. I got the keto flu at the beginning of week two, I think mainly because I was still trying to control my sodium…
  • Wow fantastic. I'd love to hear some of your recipes and go to's for keeping on track.
  • Sadly I'm a vegetarian of 8 years, but I have considered baking up some tofurkey slices. The Parmesan crisps look fantastic!
  • Ok. So tonight was test night...thoughts? Gravy - with the coconut flour there was certainly a coconut flavour I should have been expecting but didn't. The roué did not cook down as my previous flour gravies have nor did the gravy thicken. I left it to reduce and achieved a measure of thickness that way. Recommendation -…
  • Could totally work on spaghetti squash, but think poutine is on for tomorrow night with the cauliflower fries. Awesome. Thanks!
  • What a wonderful surprise! Good on you. 2 months! Can't wait to get there. Truly inspiring.
  • Hmmm maybe not what I was looking for lol. Baked zucchini?
  • I've read quite a few articles that express that you will feel weakness as your body is becoming keto-adapted. There is a really interesting one from a marathon runner, (sorry I cannot remember where I saw it). She had indicated that after starting LCHF diet her times become horrible. Then when her body had become…
  • Avocado chunks, mayo, salt and pepper. Lettuce wraps with imperial cheese/cream cheese, and veggie turkey slices. Cream cheese/nut butter and celery (also makes me feel like I'm 5) Any veggie-meat slice fried in butter than layered hot with shredded cheese so it melts (soooo good).
  • I was so excited for them but unfortunately the texture was unsavoury to me. I am particularly missing poutine. I have a low carb gravy and of course cheese curds, but what to put them on?
  • I'm veggie-keto, but it may give you some ideas. Please add me if you like.
  • I'm not so much into my size. It has taken me close to 3 years to work down from 12-14 to 8, which is not bad at all. I really want my measurements to be 36-27-36. I'd love to regain my hourglass shape instead of the almost straight one I have. Totally focused on the inches.
  • Thanks. It was as I was thinking, that I should pay closer attention to my protein. I did use that calculator a while ago but I will revisit to make sure my numbers (grams) are correct.
  • Fresh spinach with high fat dressing (Caesar or Ranch) and feta cheese. Yum! Boiled eggs with sea salt, full fat mayo (and maybe cream cheese?) spread on slices of cucumber. So good! Stir fried extra firm tofu with peppers, onions, mushrooms, black olives, shelled edamame, various spices and soya sauce is fantastic next…
  • Hi! I'm a 35 year wife and mother of one. I've been a lacto-ovo veggie since 2005, although most flesh except fish was cut out way before then. I am a carb addict!!! Once I became a SAHM, and had unguarded access to the pantry, it became clear that I needed to make some changes. While I haven't gained a lot of weight, I…
  • I went through this also with my DD. It seemed that right around the time my body regulated milk supply and I was no longer engorged was also when she hit a growth spurt and started to want nurse more. There were some sessions where I would actually switch back and forth until she seemed totally satisfied (and experienced…
  • Our house is pretty interesting at meal time. I'm a vegetarian, my husband most definitely isn't and my DD is a picky (oh no did that food touch the other food????) 2 year old. Everybody gets the same veggie/fruit and carb, and I switch out the protein for me. We take it easy on the sauces as hubby and I don't need them…
