  • Add me if you like. I'm 62 and have just gone back to the gym. I have around 30lbs to loose but I'm taking it at my own pace. I workout 4 x a week with at least an hours cardio and weights. I'm so not a runner but am happy to offer encouragement & support if needed x
  • I've been fasting for quite some time & quite happily do 19/5 or 20/4. I use an app called Fastic tho there's plenty of others out there. I just feel so much better doing this. I eat from 15.00 to 19.00 or 20.00 & do my workouts fasted. I'm 62.
  • You're both in my thoughts and prayers. Hoping all works out for you both x
  • I'm nearer 60 (next Feb is the biggie) but kinda discovered getting fit some 5 years ago after my first spinal fusion (L4/5) I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week to do some cross training and treadmill stuff for Cardio and also have some upper and lower body weight stuff that I do sometimes classes like strength and tone,…
  • Twice a week usually on Saturday in the a.m and then I get weighed at 'fat club' on a Wednesday. I go to 'fat club' because it keeps me motivated and I need the name and shame thing to keep me going
  • I'm nearly out of my 50's (will be 60 early next year) but thought I'd say Hi. I'm from the North East coast of England and I love my life x Loving my exercise more than ever and have about 16 lbs to loose to get to my target weight.
  • I need friends (again) been off n on the site for a few years for a few years, trying to loose 26 lbs to make me skinny and fit. Work out 3 times a week and LOVE to walk. Anyone need a buddy ? I'm 60
  • I walk most days, on the pavement or in the gym, makes no difference. I've lost 7lbs this week just by doing that, Can't run because of a back problem so I'll just keep walking, I LOVE it.
  • Definately NOT selfish. If it were me and I'd lost the amount of weight that you lost I'd do it in a heartbeat. Life is for living and it's too short to be miserable, go for it.
  • I took Gabapentin for about 18 months for fairly severe neuropathic pain from my back. I only stopped it in February this year after I'd had surgery. I gained maybe 30 lbs (I also stopped smoking so some of the weight gain has to be attributed to this) and am still struggling to loose it. I was extremely tired and hungry…
  • Terry treasure 900 cals is NO WHERE NEAR ENOUGH to keep you going, you NEED a minimum of the 1200 cals allocated by MFP and even that is low. Do you have a pedometer or a HRM? They both help you to track fairly accurately how much you're burning from your walks. I'm female and eat 1200 cals most days as I exercise (I also…
  • I LOVED this, you have an amazing and unique sense of humour and you look totally and absolutely AMAZING, Really inspiring.
  • I like my chocolate biscuits and as long as I make room for them in my calorie allowance and everything else I eat is relatively good then I'll eat them .I'm sorry but life is just too short to deprive yourself of every single thing you like just because it's not 'clean' I gave up smoking (VERY BAD for me) a year ago and…
  • An Inspiration Whitney and RunnerBean, GREAT losses both of you. I'll find someone to motivate and encourage right now.
  • Not sure if you can get this in the States but Rachels Organic Greek Yogurt is lovely. Sorry I don't have nutritional values but if I eat it then it's pretty O.K.Other than that as others have said the range of Greek Yogurt (as with most things) is very limited here in the U.K.so Muller Light Greek yogurt is the next best.
  • I got really really obsessed with what the scale was saying to the point that it could totally wreck my week. I now weigh every 2 to 4 weeks and am happier with that. As long as I'm sticking to my calorie allowance and doing some gym work then know in the end this will all pay off. I've lost weight really FAST in the past…
  • I gained 8 lbs in 2 weeks once whilst on holiday in Thailand. I ate fairly healthily but still managed to gain. WHY WORRY, it'll come off again. As long as you had a good time then stop fretting, start eating healthily and loose that weight again.
  • I've got a FitBit 1 which I use all the time, I never eat my exercise calories back and have lost 26lbs in 13 weeks, I stick to my MFP allowance of 1200 cals. Wouldn't be without my FitBit now, best thing i ever bought.
  • O.K. so here's the EASY way, Log on to a website called Fitness frog (just Google it) and then click on calculators from the drop down menu and you're up and running. It explains what each calculator calculates so there's no room for confusion. Under 1200 cals at your weight is WAY too low and I reckon for your 10,000…
  • I've just found this thread and I'm really thankful i did because it's just so full of positive thoughts and vibes.Hi to everyone, I'm Helen and I'm 55, married to the love of my life John and living near the North East Coast of England about 8 miles from our biggest city Newcastle Upon Tyne. I have 2 cats, Misty, a grey…
  • I started at around 211lbs and now weigh 185, that's in just 12 weeks or so. You CAN do this Add me if you like Hugs and good luck H x:flowerforyou:
  • Here in the U.K we get NONE of the yummy stuff you lot across the pond get, no Dole choc covered bananas, no Ben and Jerry's Frozen Greek Yogurt, none of those things that look like crumpets but obviously aren't since they have apple pictures on the box, so tonight yet again I'm having Strawberries and cream.
  • I never ever eat more than 1200 a day even on my exercise days which are 4 times a week. You need to try being a 55 yr old post menopausal woman and see how you get on eating more. If I go over my 1200 (I have this week on 3 days and I KNOW I'll regret it) You can bet your sweet bippy that I'll gain.
  • I eat 1200 a day (or sometimes less) and I can gain and loose 3 or 4lbs in a day.Water weight, muscle mass whatever, just stick with it and you'll see the results.
  • I had medical issues (back problems mainly) so I started walking and logging everything I put in my mouth. I've lost 21lbs in 12 weeks. I do off loom bead weaving making jewellery (mainly earrings and bracelets) add me as a friend if you like, I'm an ex nurse (registered in the U.K.) and a bit younger than you. H
  • Hi Andrea and thanks for such a lovely group. (I need to work out how to post a picture to use as your avtar (The cat is Misty, sister to Greedy Benny. She was only 6 weeks old when I took the pic, she's 2 now but still thinks she's a princess!!) It can't be hard if I can do it, I'll get back to you on that.) I had surgery…
  • I'm really sorry but I think that the only way to loose the weight (at least for me anyway) is count your calories (eat less) and go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week doing a mix of weights and cardio.(move more) This is how I've lost 21lbs in 11 weeks so far and how I lost 39lbs last year before I injured my back. I walk and…
  • A sign in my gym reads 'Some people give up due to slow progress never grasping the fact that it is just that, progress' When I get down that usually picks me up again.
  • Walking and some weight training is ALL I do (I have a FitBit) I've lost 19lbs in 11 weeks by doing just that. Last week I walked 43 miles in 5 days.
  • 45-60 mins of cardio 4 x weekly then my circuit of weights. My cardio is mostly walking as fast as possible up hills on the treadmill, can't do much else because of an ongoing back problem. weights are upper and lower body stuff with a weight limit of around 40lbs for lower body stuff and 30lbs for upper.I'm just back to…
