I've read posts on both. I think it comes down to personal preference. I am not sure if someone with more knowledge can give some info on the "science" behind it. I didn't do any sort of detox.

In the Search area of the forum look for road map... it will talk to you about BMR/TDEE/Macros, etc... it's a great place to start.

I think making the decision that loosing weight is what you really want to do is going to help. Once you find this motivation you can curb the "need" to give into the cravings. A motto I use is "Remeber why you started!"

That happens to me too, and then the more I think about it the more I want to snack. Once I decide I'm probably just fighting a craving and that I am not giving into it- it is a little more manageable. It's a hard thing but it's getting past those moments that will lead us to success. Something that helps me is drinking…
