  • Good morning from Syracuse, New York. You will find many wonderful friends on MFP. -- Yesterday was Thanksgving Day in USA so it was a day of EATING. I had my food items logged in the night before so I did very well considering. Spent the day with a close girlfriend who also is on MFP .. we enjoyed ourselves at a local…
  • Good morning from Syracuse, New York. I'm so proud of you for all the exercise calories that you are able to burn each day. I would adjust your food diary settings and add SODIUM and PROTEIN to the setup. It looks like you've got the çanned'settings that MFP starts you out with. Your processed foods are FULL of sodium and…
  • I think I'm around day 70 ... and hopefully tomorrow morning when I weigh in, I'll be down 20 lbs!
  • You're also eating alot of carbs; which may keep the weight on. Eat more protein; less carbs. Change it up a little -- Best wishes. I've done weight watchers in the past and prefer MFP -- and the real calorie counting, I feel is the best way to continue on this journey for the rest of my life.
  • There is a Group for Weight Watchers on this site. There are current discussions going on right now about your same concern. Click on Groups, Type in Weight Watchers; you'll find it....some say 1400 cals =29points. But don't hold it against me if I'm wrong. Best wishes.
  • Gym first, then MFP! That should be your creed! I zone into MFP when I want to stay away from the fridge. Keeps my mind off eating at night. Usually works :grumble:
  • Welcome to the Family! I don't consider logging the food that I eat 'dieting'. So don't use the word  This new journey of yours is about learning what to eat that makes you feel good, not guilty. It's about healthier choices and you will learn a lot of things along the way. Feel free to view my diary; I'm open to the…
  • :flowerforyou: I jump on the scale every morning because I see it while I'm perched on the toidy for my morning BM! LOL I just love to see what it says; but I only log my weight once per week on Wednesday a.m. Don't fret it though because this is a journey and an adventure in success!
  • I was on a high dose of Atenolol for many, many years and as I put on the pounds, the Dr. kept increasing the dosage. After YEARS of taking Atenolol, it wasn't as effective in the treatment of the high blood pressure readings. Of course, the extra pounds never help either. I remember when I was taking atenolol, I had no…
  • I don't purchase the pre mixed protein shakes. Purchase a good whey (or soy) protein powder ... I prefer whey and mix my own. Use unsweetened almond milk, frozen (or fresh) fruit. You'll get some good responses to your post -- protein and shakes are a hot topic. Feel free to view my diary -- I'm an open book !! LOL I…
  • Thanks for the breakfast idea....just picked up vanilla greek yogurt; will add PB2 ... and Christmas Jam. Christmas Jam is about 35 cals. per tsp. It has cherries, strawberries.....and other marvelous fruits!!!! Can't wait to wake up!!!!! :noway:
  • Bump for later......My Suggestion ---- Add Chia Seeds too!!!! Thanks for sharing with us all! :flowerforyou:
  • Bump..for another day...but you can make me lunch any day!!! Thanks for the post and with your great ideas!!!!
  • Do you have a sodium problem? Are you diagnosed with high blood pressure or other medical problems? Too much sodium, I think, makes you retain fluids. So you need to drink water to keep yourself hydrated. I hope you get others to comment to help you with this.
  • Add them to just about everything; they can be baked, blended, into whatever. I added them to hamburger; ground turkey, ground chicken and I bet you could even make a coating for your fresh fish. Possibilities are limitless. You don't have to grind, crunch em. They are good to go no matter what you do with them. Give them…
  • Wednesday is my weigh-in day; but I do sneek a peak everyday === I don't fret over it because I know that my weight can change daily. I've lost almost 1 lb every week. I just make sure I exercise (walking) to help along the way. It keeps the body toned!
  • Definitely measure! I did, well before I started this stint on MFP and it was amazing how many inches that I lost from all parts of my body. I think it would be called a "NON-SCALE VICTORY". :blushing:
  • Oh my goodness, don't even think about giving up before you get started! This is a journey...and it comes one day at a time. Get off your butt, turn on the motivation liteswitch, and tell yourself that you NEED to do this. Don't give yourself a choice to weazel out of it!!!! I'm 54 so I'll send you a friend request. If I…
  • My motto is .... if you work up a good sweat, then I count it. Otherwise, I don't count it.....like walking the laundry up and down the stairs. I don't count it.....because it's something I would normally do. I never lost weight by doing it before!!!!
  • So far it's Labatts' 52. Calories 52; Carbs 2.
  • Life is too short ! You are allowed to skip a workout -- You are allowed to eat whatever you frickin' want. Enjoy yourself when you want and then get back to reality and continue on with your plan to succeed in this Journey!
  • Either vanilla or chocolate whey protein powder 1 cup unsweetened almond milk 1 tsp instant coffee granules 1/4 cup frozen bing (dark cherries) 1 tblsp PB2 (dried peanut powder) ... 45 cals for 2 tblsp and much easier to blend up in the morning than a glop of peanut butter! :drinker: :drinker:
  • Hey! Take a look at my diary...I think it's open to the public. I started out HEAVIER than you are and would love to be at 170 lbs now. Only 21 lbs to go. I'm losing on the average 1lb per week. My only exercise now is walking and it seems to help lose the inches and maintain my weight. I can't see your diary; so I can't…
  • Remember to LIVE EVERY DAY....we never know when our last day will be. :brokenheart:
  • bump for me too, please. I'm thinking a 1/3 fat cream cheese frosting may be in order, too! Thanks!!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Hello from across the Big Pond -- I live in Syracuse, NY. I use Whey Protein Powder (vanilla or chocolate) that I can purchase from basically any big box store (Walmart, Walgreens, RiteAid) or from a health food store. I love protein shakes (mixed with almond milk, soy milk, or skim milk) I add fresh fruits, instant coffee…
  • Please eat more than 500 calories per day. I'm 54yrs old and feel comfortable at the 1400 calorie mark and have been losing 1 lb per week since the beginning of July. Please eat. It is not healthy at 500 calories per day.
  • I used to be on Atenolol (can't remember the dose)...but over the years that became so ineffective. I am now on Avapro (300mgs) and still Atenolol (50mgs). I'm hoping with my next visit I can get off the cholesterol meds that she put me on 4 mos. ago. And try to go down on the high blood pressure meds....because I'll be…
  • Motivation.....most people on MFP are motivated. I feel it's like a light switch. One day you realize that you have to get off your *kitten* and turn it on yourself. You need to be responsible for yourself first...and then we are all here to help you with encouragement, advice and understanding. I'm a little older than…
