  • this.
  • I've had both but once I went iPhone I never looked back. I have the 4S and the 5 (one is my own, one is my work phone) and I love both of them. They're simple, easy to use and the service from the Apple store is a big deal for me. I walk in, say it's not working and they hand me a brand new one. Done! In the past I've…
  • Whenever I'm home I keep a 2 litre bottle with me at all times and make sure to finish it a couple of times a day. At work we keep jugs of water on our desks. We also have carbonated water at work which helps because it can get a bit boring to just drink still water all day. On busy days when I'm worried I'll forget to…
  • I use a heat resistant protein powder from fitness guru called OneBake so that I can bake and cook with it. It's not flavoured at all which I really like. I use it to make pancakes when I want to have a less naughty than it could have been naughty Sunday brunch, haha. I also add it to my oatmeal when I make it and to…
  • I know it can be tough but take a moment and just imagine how much easier today would have been if you had just laughed him off when he started mimicking you this morning. No argument about growing up, no argument about the ride into town and no walking in the rain and wind. Seems like a lot of trouble to go through just…
  • I don't have to be at work until 10am if I want to so not too early. I can get up at 7.15am and make it just fine.
  • I aim to stay below 100g carb a day (today I've had 48g). Always. I have definitely noticed that with my PCOS carbs make a massive difference! When I keep a very close eye on my carbs and sugar the weight comes off pretty quickly as long as I also exercise 4-5 times a week. I can absolutely eat anything between 1400 and…
  • Love my UP for the social aspect of the app, the way it motivates me to move more when I'm not at the gym. In the gym though I use a HRM and I never log the calories that the UP band gives because I just see that as every day living (though extra active living). UP also motivates me to sleep more.
  • I gained 2 pounds. They're now gone again though. :)
  • HRM is the way to go. It's the most accurate number you can get. Not 100% but closer than an estimate from number of steps taken...
  • I definitely try to keep my sugar intake to a minimum because I'm insulin resistant. It is hard at first of course but blueberries and raspberries are my favourite things to beat the craving with when it hits. When I have stayed clear of as much sugar as I can stay clear of (you obviously can't completely avoid it) and I…
  • Love her stuff! I travel 200 days out of the year for work and I can do her videos and DVDs in my hotel room when there is no hotel gym. As for results I do a lot of other things as well, so my results will be from a mix of things, but I would recommend giving her workouts a go for sure!
  • I actually met my goal back in 2012 and all was well… until I hurt my back, just like you. It's horrible because you use your back for pretty much everything so you can't escape the pain. I can still feel it some days, and other days not at all. The back injury and not being able to exercise like I used to was so…
  • You look incredible! Well done!! Definitely ignore the BMI chart and concentrate on bf. :)
  • I want to get to my goal in 2014 and learn how to maintain in a healthy way. I'm also planning on taking the next step in my career this year, maybe even relocate.
  • Like I said in the other thread today isn't a big deal to me because I'm Scandinavian and we don't do Christmas Day, only Christmas Eve. I spent nearly 2 hours at the gym yesterday morning - so on our Christmas. That 1000+ calorie burn yesterday just meant I could eat what I wanted to eat without feeling bad about it. It…
  • I think it's quite inspiring actually. Looking at some of the newbies remind me of where I started out and I realise how far I've come even on days when I feel so far from my goal. It's annoying with a crowded gym though, but I'm lucky because I've never experienced anyone at my gym enforcing some kind of time limit on…
  • I'm Scandinavian and we only celebrate Christmas Eve and I did spend 1 hour and 40 mins at the gym yesterday so I'll raise my hand even if I had a rest day today. :)
  • bump - but it would not surprise me if no one knows this one… it's a very bad film! 90 mins of my life I could definitely have done something else with haha!
  • Definitely with you when it comes to the cherry! Fake cherry is the worst. In anything!!
  • I was like that with olives. I used to really not like olives, green or black and then I started cleaning up my eating habits and all of a sudden I would crave them! Now I eat them happily once in a while. I love the Lindt 85% dark chocolate. It's pretty much the only chocolate I like these days. I find galaxy/dove,…
  • I stay clear of fast carbs and always check any fruit or vegetable I eat against a glycemic index to make sure I'm not eating something I think is healthy (and for someone else could be) but for me and my insulin resistance isn't. I find that a lot of my other PCOS symptoms go away or are at least reduced when I'm sugar…
  • Have you done any measurements? Maybe you've lost inches instead of pounds? :) I pay a lot of attention to the macros because I have PCOS so I know I have to be careful with sugar and fast carbs as I'm insulin resistant. Even if you're not though I think most people try to go over on protein because the MFP goal is really…
  • We all have them in my family, which is fun because the app on your phone is really social. It shows not only your own activity but the activity of your "teammates" too so you can have daily competitions. You can also accept challenges (like "beat last Monday's steps by 4000 today") and then see which ones of you manage to…
  • So sorry to hear about your mother. It's really a shame how expensive it is to travel over the holidays. :( I'm lucky enough to have a job that pays for my travel so I didn't have to fund my flights myself. Celebrating with my mum but one of my brothers couldn't afford to fly back (he lives in Portugal) so it will feel…
  • Awesome job! And you're totally hot!! I'm happily joining the line of people already in this thread that have said they'd hit on you! ;) Congratulations on your incredible transformation and I'm so impressed as I think anyone would be! It takes A LOT of willpower! Good luck with the surgery!
  • I really like my Polar one with the chest strap. Not sure now which model I have… I do find that I have to get new batteries very often which is annoying. I guess I just use it too much. ;)
