This is nearly my story!!! However, we tried for 4 years before having the child that we wanted to badly. We also did rounds of IUI with no positive result then decided to take a break. However, one year later (3 months shy of our we'll try again treatment again date) with continued fitness gains and weight loss we…

I have struggled with PCOS for about 10 years now. I initially complained to my doctor about the- what I felt to be random symptoms- and after tests found out that it was PCOS. Weight gain and difficulty to lose weight were my biggest frustrations. While it can be controversial, I did a low carb diet in 2009 because I…

What a great feeling! Congrats!

bump! I am curious too. I plan to start P90X November 1 and my HRM is broken at the moment :)

I will start off with the fact that I am cheap :) I also know that Santa can be cheap some years too. I have a Polar FT4 ($60 on Amazon) and use my free Android Runkeeper app. Between the two of those I get everything I need- my heart rate, calories burned, mileage splits, and length of my run. I was just using my HRM but…

I was working out two-a-day style and training for a half marathon when I got pregnant for my child (a total surprise after 4 years of infertility). I was told by my doctor that I could continue with my routine as long as I felt ok. I did start having significant cramping at 8 weeks so I had to stop running but was able to…

I have had my FT4 for 14 months and in the past week my transmitter went dead. I was checking MFP and am very glad to have seen this pop up in my search. I have tried many objects- quarter, nickel, screwdriver, etc to get the darn thing open. I will certainly try the above advice because it's killing me to not have my HRM…

Yes, it is disappointing when you realize that your HRM is accurate and the machines, MFP, and Runkeeper give you a higher burn count than the HRM. However, I always go with my Polar FT4 reading. I have found it to be accurate in the sense that I am able to log all of my exercise, eat back those calories, and still have…

bump Sounds amazing!

That is awesome! Good job!

Just as others said it can be around 3-4 weeks before you seem to enjoy it. I also don't think that it's a bad idea to repeat a week if you feel that would work better for you. I always notice that I enjoy running more when I get the point of feeling good when I run, even if it's just short periods of time. I have been…

YouTube has lots of options for streaming.

Have you all had good loss with the Body Media? I'm considering one but wasn't sure if it was worth the cost of the unit and the $7/month. Recommendations?

I'm working to lose 80-90lbs total and have so far made it down 17lbs in the past two months. I'm 31, married, with a 21 month old son. Feel free to add me for support :)
-
Feel free to add me :) I am down 17 right now with the goal of losing a total of 80-90lbs.

I either plan out my day to the point of having some extra calories for an after dinner treat or I plan to exercise after dinner so I can have an evening snack. I usually feel the need to have something sweet in the evening :)

So we're a few days in. How are people doing with the jumping jacks? I'm up to 525 jumping jacks since Friday! I'm half way there :)
-
I would love to join! I am in the final days of the 10lbs in 30 days challenge group!
-
That is a lot of jumping jacks! But I'm in!

I see that others already responded with this but low carb is the way to go. I found that I was able to lose weight without the use of Metformin once I did low carb. I did a true Atkins diet for a period of time with the best success. I have also done South Beach. Those guidelines have been very helpful in educating myself…

I am in love with Champion brand. I wish I could remember the model name but they are wicking and hold my DDs nicely! They are also a bargain at $30 not on sale... I found one as low as $15 at TJMaxx!

If I'm going out and I know alcohol will be there I plan to have a deficit throughout the week and I also get in a good work out the morning of a night out. I don't ever drink that much but that way I don't feel so guilty for eating dinner out or having a drink or two.

The *first* time I lost weight I was able to get down 55lbs. I had people tell me that they couldn't tell when I had lost 20lbs. It took 35lbs and better fitting clothing for people to notice. I had also gotten to the point of losing lots of inches and not many pounds for a couple of months. I was pretty much heartbroken…

I also thought I was eating for 6! LOL I had lost 55 pounds then gained it all back during pregnancy :( Now I'm back to trying to lose that same weight so we can be successful in having another. We have not prevented in 7 months. I hate PCOS!
-
I have experienced the same problem. I am curious about what others have to say about this.
-
Congratulations!!! That is so exciting. Coming from another "victim" of PCOS I understand the difficulty in becoming pregnant, even with medical intervention. I also lost weight (but on a low carb diet) and became pregnant. Best of luck to you!

I would increase protein and water. However, you said that you're nursing. So your calorie intake depends on how much you are nursing. I would probably keep doing what you are for a bit to make sure you don't reduce your supply.

I'm pleasantly surprised that my weight went down this week. Yay! This has actually motivated me on a couple of days to get up and exercise :)
