  • All of this. You don't have to eliminate "junk" from you diet. Brownies don't make you fat. Too many brownies make you fat.
  • I used pairs of 5, 8, 15, 20 pounders (38 yo female) If I needed more weight I would cross the dumbells and hold 2 in one hand. Basic weights run about a buck a pound, so I tried to keep it cheap by making the most out of my limited equipment. Had I gone for a third round I probably would have had to buy a couple more sets.
  • I am 139 pounds and currently sitting in a pair of size 0 Old Navy jeans. They're one of the worst offenders when it comes to vanity sizing.
  • Core exercise will help the muscle if you don't have too large a diastasis recti, diet will help the fat. Time is what you need to help the skin. Three years after my c-section my muscles had returned to almost normal (I did P90X) and I had the fat under control, but my skin was still a mess. I had a modified tummy tuck to…
  • I'm 5'4". I have my goal set to 130, but I am generally happy as long as I'm under 135 any my favorite jeans still fit.
  • Maggie. It's a Dodge Magnum RT. I'm not very original when it comes to naming vehicles. My husband's red Jeep Wrangler is Elmo.
  • Because you're logging it in the wrong place. Set and reps are logged under strength. Time of workout is logged under cardio.
  • I am 5'4". female, 130 pounds, and 38 years old. When I do P90X I eat an absolute minimum of 2,000 calories on workout days, but usually get closer to 2,500. On rest days (no exercise at all) I shoot for 1,700. I didn't estimate your calories, but it looks pretty low for your stats. P90X comes with a guide book that lays…
  • If I'm hungry in the morning, I eat breakfast. If I'm not hungry, I don't. I like to keep it simple.
  • If you are making trips to the bathroom at night, the simple solution is to stop drinking the water an hour or two before you go to bed. If you are retaining 4-5 pounds of water weight you may want to be looking at your sodium intake. Drinking water usually helps to reduce retention. Dehydration causes retention. I really…
  • You need to triple your intake, at least. There is no way you are getting the nutrition you need with what you are consuming. If you keep it up you will start to see changes in your skin, hair loss, and a whole lot of other negative results. Two tablespoons of oatmeal?! A normal serving is 1/2 cup dry.
  • As others have stated, "Eat less, move more". I get at least 12,500 steps in every day, strength train 3 days a week, and keep my calories to a reasonable deficit of 500 per day. I hit my lowest ever weight of 123 that way last summer. I allowed myself to put on some fat over the winter, so I am now back to my old routine…
  • Please don't try to self diagnose and certainly don't omit important information when you speak to your doctor. If you believe you still have a meal in your stomach several days after you have eaten it (highly unlikely) you need to go back and speak to your doctor again. If you think a binge is the cause of your illness,…
  • At the top of the screen click on APPS. You'll see a link there for syncing your MFP and Fitbit accounts.
  • I doubt there is a link. Had you been sick a few hours after the over eating, maybe, but not a week.
  • I get about 50% of my calories from carbs and have had no problems losing fat and keeping it off.
  • Tell the idiots who ordered too small of a dress to exchange it immediately and get you the right size. Morons. It is not easier to shrink a bride into a dress than it is to shrink a dress to fit a bride. If you are truly at 18%, that is already very low for your average female. Don't set yourself up for misery and…

  • Put it in a baggie and stick it in you pocket or inside your bra. Why risk ruining it?
  • I've gotten to where I am today be focusing on an 80/20 way of eating. If I'm good 80% of the time, I can enjoy my pizza, beer, and ice cream the other 20%. I'm working on getting from my "winter weight" of 135 back to my "summer weight" of 125. I'm already back down 2 pounds for the last 2 weeks.
  • I have found my scans to be accurate nearly all the time. If the information is incorrect you can submit a correction. It's pretty simple and helps to keep the database up to date for everyone. Sometimes the nutrition information may have changed since it was first entered, or it could be as simple as someone screwing up…
  • I plateau isn't a plateau until you've not lost anything for at least a couple of months. You are not in a plateau. I can't speak for the phentermine, but it looks like your intake may be too low for your activity level. The quickest way to stall weight loss is to starve your body. You need to feed it. I lost quite a bit…
  • When you are ill it is certainly not the time to be reducing your intake. I always go to maintenance levels when I am sick and for a few days after I feel better.
  • You're probably fine. The newer Fitbit One is pretty water resistant. If it does start acting up, be sure to email their customer service. They sent me a free replacement when I accidentally washed my Ultra.
  • The best appetite suppressant is food. The key is to make good choices and plan your day so your selections fit into your calorie allowance. Also, be sure you're actually allowing yourself enough. The biggest mistake I ever made in my journey was undereating. I got to where I am today on 1500-2200 calorie per day.
  • Desperation and ignorance would be my bet.
  • You're not only risking your health, but very likely tossing your money down the drain. The vast majority of the "drops" have absolutely no useful quantity of active ingredients because they are not regulated. Who knows what you are actually ingesting?! It's nothing more than a placebo.
  • Don't take chances with your knees without discussing with a orthopedic surgeon. Running is not worth the risk of major damage. I learned this the hard way and cannot run at all anymore. Even walking too fast is painful.
  • You may notice a bit of water weight gain and bloat for a couple of days, but I would hardly call what you ate excessive. Don't obsess. Fat loss can easily be achieved while still eating the so called "junk" from time to time. If you maintain a reasonable deficit 80% of the time, the remaining 20% won't matter.
  • Yup. I frequently have days where I can hit 3,000 calories or more. As long as I stay active (walking and hiking) I can eat well over 2,000 calories per day and still lose.
  • My surgeon required me to be in the "normal" end of the BMI before he would schedule me. Since then I have lost another 25 pounds and I think I look good, but I'm certain I would have looked better had I lost more before the surgery. The skin on my abdomen is a bit loose.
