  • I drink a meal replacement shake every morning with almond milk and frozen fruit blended in. The most it has ever been calories wise is around 225 depending on if I put greek yogurt in it or not but most times i don't, love it!
  • I owned one and currently looking for it in my home LOL! I loved it! I wore it all the time and felt like it really held me accountable. You don't have to use their food journal, but its definitely great for tracking calories burned. I can't wait to find my unit because I really can't afford to buy another one LOL.
  • The carbs aren't actually bad, just use them. :) Carbs are pretty much the first thing our body uses for energy when working out so do a quick activity to counteract. Of course MFP won't register it, but your body will. :) I would take fruit carbs over processed food carbs. For instance, a snack cookie I eat has 18g of…
  • Yep I love protein shakes, I also drink body by vi shakes and they work for me 90 cal, 12g of protein, 7 carbs, .5 sugar. If you want more then add Chobani greek yogurt, still under 200 cal total. :) I drink one for breakfast and lunch, then have light snacks in between then a regular dinner.
  • Its an urban myth! LOL Everything that says no calories has calories, just less than five. Check what the serving size is, then calculating how much of it you are eating. There's a formula to figure out truly how many calories are in things but that may get a little too mundane for many (but I'm an info junky LOL). And to…
  • The Polars are good brands, I'm slightly frugal too when it comes to HRM's, but I'm a gadget freak so its a little testy for me LOL. I just bought the Omron brand with chest piece off of Amazon for under $30, I wore it to workout, my only thing is it just tells me what my HR is not how many calories I've burned. I'm in…
  • I'm 5'2'' (on a good day) and I was also set at the 1200 cal/day plan. I did use freedieting.com and it suggested 1296 for extreme weight loss so I manually set my goal to that. This is the first week so I have no idea how its working. I did eat half my workout calories and have went over slightly some days so we will see…
  • I would recommend that as well, as you will be hell bent on finding any without either or. Another factor is taste. For me it has to be tolerable to my palette in order to be a consistent staple in my kitchen, the one I use is. They use a very tiny amount of sucralose (as I checked as I was concerned as well) and as I…
  • Wowsers I apologize didn't mean to offend. I have a love/hate relationship with artificial sweetners but don't necessarily consider all of them poison. But that's a debate for another time, was just putting mine out there, if it doesn't help OP I apologize.
  • I use Vi-Shape, has 14g of protein per serving, its soy based (which is awesome on taste for me, hate the taste of whey or hemp), it does have sucralose in it as a sweetner since this is about the only artificial sweetner accepted worldwide. I love it, been using it since late November for my breakfast and lunch.
  • Yes I believe this is a common issue in the workplace. I work with a bunch of guys (engineers to be exact), not many are concerned with their health. The few women that are here are predominantly overweight, all struggling with the same issues, but choose to live with it instead of without it. Every now & then within our…
  • Here are my favorites, I drink smoothies everyday for breakfast and lunch which was the foundation of the 17.5lbs I've lost so far, YAY ME! LOL: 1. Strawberry milkshake 8oz of Blue Diamond 40 cal Almond Milk (vanilla) .5 cup of frozen unsweetened strawberries 6oz of vanilla greek yogurt (optional) Vi-shape protein powder…
  • Here are my favorites, I drink smoothies everyday for breakfast and lunch: 1. Strawberry milkshake 8oz of Blue Diamond 40 cal Almond Milk (vanilla) .5 cup of frozen unsweetened stawberries 6oz of vanilla greek yogurt (optional) Vi-shape protein powder 2. Berry berry good! (love these names I created on the fly LOL) 8oz of…
  • Well I guess that's debatable. The only point I was trying to make is that at some point we have to stop relying on "quick effective" and start getting behind "long term results". You learn nothing from eating an apple a day, so in my eyes its 3 days wasted when I could've have taken that time to learn healthier meals and…
  • Well I apologize if that is the diet in question then no that's not bad, I thought it was eating apples only, as I've seen similar "diets" before with a certain fruit that boasts similar results.
  • I WANT TO JOIN!!! **frantically waving hand LOL! The 4th of July is my birthday so I already had goals in place, would love to join a group. SW: 160.5 lbs GW: 125-130 lbs
  • +1 I've tried them all under the sun, but when its all said and done discipline, reflecting, commitment, and simplicity has worked for me much more. If I wanna jumpstart my weight loss, I eat clean, I workout more, I drink more water, but I understand my concept of "jumpstart" may be a tad different from others. No worries…
  • Wow... I know we as Americans are OBSESSED with doing things fast and the "easy" way. Nothing says commitment & determination like hard work and discipline. OP I have no idea who you are or what you stand for, but I truly hope that you take a second look & not the short term of "I'm losing weight fast" but the long term of…
  • I will say its a matter of preference and your reasoning behind it. I drink protein shakes everyday for breakfast and lunch, more so because its apart of a challenge I'm on, but I have yet to get tired of them and I've completed my first 90 days and moving on to round 2.
  • Thanks ladies! I felt that needed to be said. I'm truly passionate about not only getting myself healthy, but by doing so inspiring others to do it in the process. I plan to become a personal trainer and nutritionist/dietician when its all said and done, because I believe there's not enough people fighting for our health…
  • I'm not doing juice but plan to do an all "protein shake" fast this upcoming week to jumpstart my 2nd 90 day challenge.
  • It is SO MUCH FUN!!! Of course I love to dance but even my friends that aren't all that coordinated still enjoy it, and it definitely gets the blood flowing!
  • Yay I have BLUW and plan to start back using it. My issue is I don't have enough room so my Kinect can't read me that well during floor workouts. My biggest workouts have been with Dance Central, I can be on that for hours and not notice because its such fun!
  • Welcome Althea! I just joined too and look forward to seeing your progression. I will add you as a friend, you're right the more the merrier! LOL

  • Congrats on the baby! Yes you're in the right frame of mine, get it done now! My son is 4 and I was still carrying my preggo weight and more, I just finally got under my pre-pregnancy weight LOL.
  • I would count it, just count it as that actual fruit. Worst case scenario your a few calories off since you didn't eat the entire fruit. I mix frozen strawberries with my protein shake and I count it all because my food processor doesn't leave anything behind. I count everything, yea you may not blow up from fruit juice…
  • Welcome, and good luck on your journey!
  • Its called Vi-shape shake mix, its part of the challenge kits you get when you do the 90 day Body By Vi challenge. It actually tastes good, the ONLY reason I've been consistent LOL!
  • I use Vi-shape, its soy based meal replacement powder. I mix mine with almond milk, I like this better than the lactaid or Soy milk. I actually use my shakes to replace my breakfast and lunch, so far so good.
