  • I have had Flare ups of Planter Fascitis off and on over the years. I had a chiropractor instruct me to roll my feet on a golf ball at the end of the day. it was really tender the first few days but now i look for ward to my 'foot massage' at the end of the day. I also know avoiding 'white' foods' really helps too. As they…
  • Hello there, I been here since January but have been actively trying to lose weight since last December 2009. to look for people in your area you can click on the tab under community that says 'Find Members' and then search for people according to your area, age and other factors. Or you can start your own group of friends…
  • Good JOB way to work and see your results! I have about 4 lbs to go to be gone with the 200's. I run 3 days a week and do strength training 2-3 days a week. Again GOOD JOB!
  • I bring alot of leftovers for lunch. things we've had the night before. I do have access to a microwave and can reheat items very quickly. I also sometimes bring 'Lean Cuisine" or Weight Watchers frozen meals to work and supplement them with cooked veggies or fruit. Also a lean meat sandwich on multi grain bread with…
  • I mostly crochet. i work on smaller projects in the summer like scarfs and baby blankets. in the winter i then work on larger afgans. I love to watch baseball and football, so working on something helps keep in the game and out of the chip bowl!
  • it depends on what your BMR is. there is a way to calculate it in the tools. and if you do intentional exercise( walking, eliptical, cycling) whatever you burn doing these you can then 'eat' those calories too. Also if you go back in and reset your weight loss goal to 1 lb per week it will also give back more calories to…
  • Just a little FYI, I've been on 2 different blood pressure meds over the last 5 years. And the first one if i skipped a dose would give me a Whopper of a headache. and the one I am on now occasionally does that if I miss a dose. I would encourage you to take your meds as soon as you remember and then start the next…
  • i would start with the gym's manager or a trainer on site, see if they can set up a free program for you and show you how to use the weights. I go to a gym and they set up strength training programs for free. and if/when i need a change they will do that for me also for free. just ask and see what they can offer. Maybe…
  • you can do your own circuit training at home. go between push ups, jumping jacks, sit ups and squats, wall sits and doing things like step ups, and arm weights( bent over rows, tricep extentions, over head press). Do each for 1 minute and then go to the next item. this can burn a bunch of calories and good for all over…
  • good luck on your up coming surgery. does he mean minimal amout of walking or minimal effort while walking. if you walk at a very easy level you can burn up to 300-350 calories an hour walking. I realize he doesnt want you to strain as this can cause increased problems with the hernia before surgery. but walking at a…

  • I'd start by finding out if there's a trainer at the gym/fitness center. if there is I'd ask for a free consult and set up a routine/training guideline. I attend Anytime fitness and the trainer there will set a new routine whenever i need a change. but for 1:1 instruction, that would be paid time. Other wise invest in some…
  • sunday's are my 'cheat days'. i usually go out to eat with my family and i dont usually track on this day. i try to enjoy their company and not try too worry over too much of what I'm eating. I do usually try to pick a restaurant that i can control my eating at. a cheat day could just be something that your looking forward…
  • I agree, if your BMR is 1405, that is the LEAST amount of calories you should be eating. and to eat your exercise calories- means that what ever you earn by walking or running or aerobics. or whatever that you also eat those calories. So you may burn 300 calories on a walk/gym and then you would need to eat 1705 calories…
  • I take Lisinopril for my BP and hctz. I too have had some bouts with being lightheaded and my provider actually wants my BP down around the 105-107 area. I have lost 30 lbs over the last 6 months and feel tremendously better. the light feeling in my head is better. i am just real careful when i stand or when i come off the…
  • Way to go!:flowerforyou: Keep up the good work!
  • i use a spice cake mix and then add carrots, pineapple, coconut and nuts. theres usually a recipe on the side/back of the box for it and also a way to make it lower cholesterol, and by using applesauce you can make it lower in fat. as for the frosting using a low fat cream cheese with powdered sugar would make a nice…
  • It has 5 calories per serving. so if that's going to make or break you I'd count it. but if you have the calories to spare I'd drink away. I have slowly gotten off of drinking it by using 1 single serve packet for a quart of water. it helps cover the taste of the water. But now I just drink plain water.
  • Sunday's are my 'cheat' day. This is a day i spend with my church family and my own family. this is the day i have a cookie for breakfast from the welcome center @ church and then i take my kids out to lunch. it's usually their pick on where to eat. we go between Mexican, Chinese or a local steakhouse. I usually overeat…

  • I'd see if you could ask the land owners for it. just say I'd like to go through and salvage anything i feel is of value. or maybe make up a story that it was your great aunts, cousin's, brother's home and you really liked the bed that was in the house.
  • I would aim for somewhere like 5-8 pounds a month. Stress can work against weight loss too. So make sure you have some 'me' time. I know this is much easier said than done. But if you start with 30 min a week and work up to 1-2 hours for yourself it will go along way to help you with every thing. maybe the easiest me time…
  • 300 ml is just over 1 cup. and yes holding your urine alittle longer will train your bladder and let it 'stretch' out a bit. good luck.
  • I do know you need to keep your calories at a minimum of 1200 calories in. and if you exercise you still need to make sure that you eat 1200 calories. other wise your body goes in to a 'starvation mode' and you can gain weight, even tho your exercizing. I have been struggling with a pleateau and have had to increase my…
  • I read once if you add 100 steps each day to what ever your doing now will go along way. Also you can try to take a Glucosamine/chondriton supplement, this will help with the joints. just remember to keep adding something to what you are already doing. in time the joints will loosen up and respond and feel better. Dietary…
  • What helps me with cramps- especially if you know what day your TOM will be, is to Take 600mg of Motrin/Ibuprofen every 8 hours starting about 2-3 days before hand. If you can do that it has really helped my cramps be much more controlled. and then I can work out as I want to during that week. Best wishes to you.
  • I would start by decreasing the sodium and sugar in your diet. Both tend to retain fluids, that means cutting down on pizza and soda. I know i love them too. but now only have pizza 1-2 times a month and rarely have a 'real' soda. I drink mostly water and have a diet soda 2-3 times a week. I have also tried to not have too…
  • I too have suffered from terrilbe headaches. mine were a sinus/migraine blend. Mine were caused by a whiplash injury. between a chiropractor, Relpax and using a combo of 1000mg of Tylenol along with 800 mg of Advil/motrin i used a heating pad and a large ice bag on my head. I used the heating pad either to the front…
  • Yes you need to eat at least 1200 calories. I am no diet expert or nurtionist, I am a nurse and your body needs at least that much. It s great that your exercising and you dont have to eat those calories. but maybe try some Carrot/celery stix for a snack with small amt of peanut butter, hummus or low fat dip/dressing.…
  • Sorry it took me so long to get back here, have had computer trouble at home. I just kept mixing up my workouts, I lift weights 3-4 days a week and alternate long and short walks. and I now have a routine from Shape magazine called ' sprints'. and i also do a couple of 'hill' work outs on the treadmill that I got from…
  • I also drink about 2 liters of water a day. I try to drink most of it by early after noon. then if I want I treat my self with a diet Coke or something else. If you like iced tea or green tea you could use that in your water to make it very dilute to change the flavor. I like my water i have and don't mind drinking lots of…
  • I work out 3 days a week after 7 pm and 3 days a week before lunch time. I am a Nurse and it depends on whether i am working that day or have the day off. I usually take Sundays off, unless i do a casual walk up and down our country lane. i believe that any work out at whatever time is better than none at all.
