  • About 30 seconds - there's a gym in my apartment complex so I just have to cross the courtyard!
  • Hi there. I'm 25, from the UK and looking to lose another 45lbs / 20kg eventually. I lost about 19kg at the end of 2012 but then I've kind of just maintained / hovered for the last year. I'm looking to lose weight and improve my running too - I've entered my first half marathon for May. I think I must be crazy.
  • For my first year of running (almost all treadmill) I ran in a pair of the cheapest shoes I could get from Decathlon and I never suffered with shin splints or any other problems. Earlier in the year I decided that I'd proved to myself that I was "into" this running thing and I went to Sports Direct (mainstream sports…
  • From September to December last year I lost 3 stone (19kg) after starting to swim, though I was also eating at a deficit most of the time. I swam lengths of breaststroke for an hour 3 or 4 times a week (approximately 2km per swim). After that I switched to running / biking and didn't lose anywhere near as much. So yes, for…
  • I'm over 200lbs and I'm asthmatic. The furthest I've run without stopping is 6.4 miles / 80 minutes and I regularly 3-4 times a week run 5k. I completed Couch to 5K at about 215lbs so you definitely can too! I've also found that my asthma has improved a lot since I started to run. I tend to take my inhaler before I set out…
  • I did the whole of C25K on the treadmill... twice! The first time I was still at my university gym which has individual TVs on each treadmill - 30 minute shows were perfect to do my C25K sessions! The second time I was in the small gym at my apartment complex where there's only a communal TV at a neck-breaking angle above…
  • Chicken pita and peas? The peas are lovelyyyy!

  • My mum was given vouchers for free Slimming World classes. I think they gave her 8 or 12 weeks, and if she lost a certain amount of weight, they gave her another 8 weeks. She continued with the classes after that and lost about 4 stone. Since then she's stopped (work commitments, having to move to another class with an…
  • I've joined two gyms over the last 2 years, and they didn't weigh me or take measurements at either of the inductions. The first was an induction for me and another guy who very obviously knew his way around a gym. The guy did a really quick whistle-stop tour to show us where things were, how to set up the treadmill etc…
  • I did my first 5K yesterday with 3 people from work and a friend of one of theirs. It was a Colour Run, so it ended up being more about the fun and getting as messy as possible but as soon as we set off I wished I was running alone! One girl and her friend ran off straight away (they were super quick) and then the other…
  • I was at one of those hands-on interactive museums when I lived in Chile and they had one of those cool ball things that spin you round until it finds your centre of gravity. I walked up and the attendant looked me up and down, then asked how much I weighed. I was about 1kg below the limit and they turned me away. And then…
  • Hi, I'm Emily and I'm 25. I've got about 50lbs to lose!
  • Hello ladies! I'm 25, I'm a trainee accountant and I have about 45lb to lose. Sitting on my *kitten* in the office doesn't help though!! I gym regularly, and I've just completed C25K but struggling to eat well. Let's motivaaaate! :)
  • For me it's breathing. I know I can run 5k, because I did it twice last week, but tonight I could feel my chest getting tighter and tighter as if an asthma attack was coming, so I slowed to a walk. I have no idea how people manage to keep their heart rates so low when they run. By the time I've finished my warm-up walk, my…
  • I think that pace is pretty damn good! I did C25K for the first time last year, and although I got to running the full 30 minutes, I didn't get anywhere near 5K. And then I stopped completely. A couple of weeks ago I finally ran my first full non-stop 5K with a time of 40:59. Which is about 4.5mph / 13:33 mile pace. So…

  • Well done!!!
  • First ever 5k without stopping this morning. Whoop :)
  • I've noticed that the MFP C25K calories are super super low. According to my HRM, I burn around 600 calories on the week 7-8 runs, but according to MFP I get barely half that! I always follow my HRM.
  • I usually do the session, and then keep on walking until I hit the 5km (usually at about 44 minutes).
  • Make that 5 minutes more!! I slowed down a bit too, but the speed will come in time!
  • I was up to 25 minutes of non-stop running, but last night I suddenly decided I wanted to run for 30 minutes, so I did. In fact, when I got to 30 minutes, I decided to run 35 minutes more. Feeling rather proud of myself today - still a bit more to go to run a 5k without stopping though.
  • I'm from Newcastle, UK but living in Leeds.
  • I'm 5'7" and I started out at 113kg in September 2012. I lost about 20kg up to June 2013 but then a stone crept back on after I started a grad job in September. I'm back down to 95kg now, but I want to get down to 72kg eventually (a "normal" BMI). Add me if you want! :)
  • I'm doing the Colour Me Rad run in Leeds, UK on 17 May :)
  • I finished C25K back in May when I was still at university. And then I stopped running. So now I'm struggling back through it. On Sunday I ran 25 minutes, though tonight I ran 22 minutes, walked for 5 and then ran 8 minutes. I'm running a 5K in May with some people from work and my aim is just to be able to run the whole…
  • 25 (and a little in denial).
  • Hello :) I'm from Leeds too (well... Newcastle originally, forgive me!). I lost 3 stone from September 2012 - June 2013 but one of dem stones has slowly crept back on since I moved to Leeds and started an actual adult job. I've got a little over 3.5 stone to lose now! Feel free to add.
  • I gave up chocolate and alcohol - still going strong!
  • As of yesterday, I AM A GRADUATE :) I actually ran the 30 minutes on W7D2 but wanted to finish the full run cycle... I finished W8 yesterday with a run of 35 minutes!! Still not quite at 5k, but I've finished the podcasts - now to just keep on building - I'm short of 500m!
