  • Amazing results, hard work is paying off, you look awesome!
  • I concur with others that the iPhone app really helps out a lot for logging especially on the go! But I still prefer using the web site though. Once you've tracked for awhile and your meals are consistent, sometimes you can even mentally track until you come across an oddball food item that even MFP doesn't have an entry…
  • Howdy, Jacksonville guy here! And it's starting to get warm even up here!
  • I was using a running shoe like you, then I realized that it does not give me the stability for lateral moves, so I got cross trainers. I currently use an Avia cross trainer, and I immediately felt the difference while doing my cardio workouts. Less cushioning than a running shoe definitely, but very stable. I switch to…
  • I've done two rounds of the Insanity workout and still using it for my routine. I really like it, it's very intense and I feel it is a very efficient workout, and does not need any weights/equipment. If you are new to it, there are some good reviews and walkthroughs of the workout so you know what to expect. Good luck!
  • Hi there! Definitely lots of cool folks in here that can provide help, advice and motivation! Don't lose sight of your goals, and never fear to try something different, you'll be surprised at how the body reacts to new things. What workout DVDs do you use? Sending a friend request your way, we're here to help!

  • My mistake early on was trying to keep pace, I learned I have to adjust and push harder as I go along. Until now I am still not able to keep pace with the folks in the video, but I've been doing better with each day. I do push hard every time though and give my best.
  • I love the Insanity workout! I've done two rounds of it, then I'm just doing the Max ones during the week. I don't have before/after pics, but I can tell you that my fitness level has improved tremendously. Lost almost 20 lbs since I started, but what I like are the inches lost and improvements in my core. The workout is…
  • LOL. I guess the person had the last pick
  • Power Jumps, I despise you!
  • Insanity is a great program, very tough but certainly doable! I almost passed out doing the fit test, I could only do the first few exercises. The first week was really, really difficult as I've never encountered this level of cardio. I do guarantee that it gets better after that, and you will feel and see the improvements…
  • I think you're talking about shirataki noodles which are fabulous! Depending on how it is cooked, it can have a texture similar to al dente spaghetti, but a little chewier. Maybe like a slightly rubbery rice vermicelli noodle if you've had those before. By itself the taste is not like wheat pasta, but you normally don't…
  • I've been consuming Syntrax Matrix protein, delicious!
  • I like Ariel (Shepley) better...
  • Love it. I drink a can of Monster Absolutely Zero 3-4 times a week, I prefer cold drinks in the morning in general, so I pick this over hot ones like coffee or tea. I actually like Sobe NoFear (the sugar-free one), but I can't find it anymore =(
  • That is definitely evidence of great progress, good job!
  • Welcome to MFP! This is a great community and make sure to use the tools (diary etc), you can gets lots of info from other folks here, they are all very good and supportive of whatever your goals are. Feel free to add me as friend , I'll be with you along the way to your goals. Sorry to hear about your knee, but teaching…
  • Duke's Mayo!!! I don't like the tanginess of Miracle Whip...
  • Diet Coke is fine. From what you're saying it looks like you're not drinking it exclusively during the day anyway. You will get mixed responses on this topic, and being referred to websites (alarmist sites) that are not really good reference material.
  • Concurring with the other posters, my recommendation is to boost your calorie intake (QUALITY food, not junk =) ) for 1-3 days then go back. It seems like you are not eating back your exercise calories, so if you are netting 900 calories a day that is too low, and your body is adjusting to that, slowing the metabolism.…
  • Cravings for sweets are usually a sign of low blood sugar, try to incorporate more low glycemic food in your diet. That will minimize those crashes. When you do reach out for a snack, the only thing I can advise is to choose protein-rich snacks which would get you through those cravings between meals.
  • Yes, same muscle groups on both days, but different angles/exercise types. Doing abwork after cardio ensures that all your muscles are very warm and flexible, allows you to bend more and not cramp up. Makes the exercise more efficient and allows you to push harder. Always here for you!
  • Abwork would be best after your cardio workouts, if you can extend 10 more minutes for just that.
  • To ensure full coverage of the muscle group, make sure you change up your exercise positions, for example, in addition to shoulder presses, your can add/change to shoulder flys (lateral raises to work the back and side shoulder) or front shoulder raises. Or add some floor dips to work the lower pecs + triceps. I guess my…
  • Welcome! You got lots of support here, Keep going!
  • I plateaued for the longest time too, and what got the scale moving again for me were significant changes to routine food intake like cutting off diet soda, switching to ezekiel bread, and also, believe it or not, eating more! Try mixing up your food intake, your body is probably "baselining" and ust needs a jolt to get…
  • I'm not from MN, but you got my support! Welcome and have fun in the road to your goal. Feel free to add me if you like! Make sure you take advantage of the MFP tools and of course the wealth of info in the message boards!
  • We're always here to support you, but YOU make the results happen. You've achieved your goal before, you can do it again! Good luck!
  • Welcome! You'll enjoy it here. Lots of awesome people in the community here to help you out and motivate you, give advice and just be cool friends! I would recommend using the tools of course, like the food and exercise diary. If you are committed, you WILL get results. Good luck!
