I was first asked when my baby was due -- and I wasn't pregnant. A couple of days later, I saw a picture of myself facing away from the camera and didn't recognize my rear.

My weight fluctuates between one and three pounds on a daily basis, depending on how much sodium I've had, what I did for exercise recently, my water intake, what time of the month it is, and whether I've gone to the bathroom regularly. Maybe you just weighted yourself at the worst possible time.

I don't see the point in protein shakes. For one, you can eat a boiled egg or two and get similar amounts of protein for about the same calories. I'd much rather eat my calories than drink them. For another, I agree with fteale's comments. When I took a dietetics class in college, we were taught that most Americans get…

I graduated in 1993 at 115 lbs. I'm up to an all time high of 150 lbs and have a goal weight of 135. I'm 5'6".

You like them, your husband likes them, your 7 year-old likes them, and they're on sale. These jeans are practically screaming "buy me"! Seriously, get them and feel good when you wear them.

No, it just means your body doesn't have to work as hard to cool you down.

I would get a rough estimate by using the "Walking 2.0mph" in My Fitness Pal and subtracting out an estimation of how long I simply stood or sat during the car show.

From what I've learned before and from what I read here http://ask.yahoo.com/20020327.html , you really don't need to lose any more fat. If you are doing a lot of running, dropping unintentionally to 15-16% wouldn't be unrealistic, but I don't think you NEED to do it. Also, it's harder for women with lower body fat to get…

I felt the same way about six weeks ago and started eating whatever without regard for calories. I had been losing about 1/2 pound per week and hit a plateau, felt like a total failure and indulged. I erased three months of hard work in two weeks, gaining back everything I'd lost. I'm now focused solely on eating a good…

Don't try to make too many changes at once. If you can't stick with them it gets frustrating and you start to see yourself as a failure. Also, don't make the scales your sole measurement of success. Tell yourself everyday you are making changes for the good of your health, to reduce stress, and to feel better about…

Maybe you can try tapering off? For example, go from one big can to one baby sized can per day for a week, then one baby sized can every other day for a while, and eventually cut down to once or twice a week. Honestly, I'm not a soda drinker but I had to do something similar with chocolate.

It's just the sodium in restaurant meals causing water retention. It'll be gone in a week.

Thanks, Egger29. Very helpful info.

Chopped cucumbers with tomatoes, onions, and light Italian dressing.

Around 22%. I try to eat four meals/snacks of approximately equal caloric value, around 250-350 calories each, and eat the remaining calories as afternoon and evening snacks.

All of the above, plus I'd recommend pilates. Denise Autsin's Mat Workout video is my favorite. http://www.amazon.com/Denise-Austin-Workout-Based-Pilates/dp/0784018235

When I was pregnant, I more or less ignored the scales. I tried to eat a healthy diet and got mild to moderate exercise as often as I could. The last two months, I basically ate whenever I was hungry, which was all the time. I think MFP would be a good tool for you to track your nutrition (are you getting enough fruits,…

I gained 5lbs after a weekend trip. It was all water weight. Just eat a low sodium diet and drink lots of water and you'll be back to your usual weight in a couple of days.

If you could open your diary temporarily so others can see it, we could offer better advice.

I'm currently 148 with a goal of 135. I used to be 125-130 back in my college days and I wasn't unhealthy. I'm built small so it was about right for me.

I've only lost 4lbs and I seem to be stuck. I've lost a little (1/4 of an inch) from my waist over the last three weeks but the scales haven't budged. I'm on the 1/2 pound per week plan and am going to drop my calories from 1450 to 1350 to see if it helps.

If I have a really intense workout, I'm starving. If I have a moderate one, it kills my appetite.

Roller blading and ice skating.

Don't take this the wrong way, because I'm in the same boat you are, but when you measure your hips, you are also measuring part of your rear. If there's not much fat on the sides of your hips, it could be that your back side is the culprit.
