  • Thank you for the kind words! I am a dental hygienist, so I have the training and know what needs to be done. It was just a tough start.
  • I do! 127lbs to be exact. I've already lost 42lbs. Trying to get from 292lbs to 165lbs. Lets do this!
  • 292lbs...Down from 334lbs. My goal weight is 165lbs and I will go from there. I'm 5'11 and have never been that small. I'm curious to see how I will look.
  • Grew up in Richmond, currently in Virginia Beach!
  • Hey guys, I'm Julia. I purchased the program as a birthday present to myself back in November. I just got around to doing it since my husband is deployed and I have so much free time and focus on my hands. I just finished Phase 1 and I'm 25.8lbs down so far!!! :)
  • I purchased it and I'm currently ending my first month of the three. I've lost a total of 25.8lbs. I weighed 301lbs going in and now weigh 275lbs. Of course I have quite a bit more weight to lose than most at 5'11. I am very happy with the program. I've done her 30 Day Shred, Killer Buns and Thighs, and quite a few others.…
  • I lost 25lbs about a year ago on WW in a 3 month span. I really do love their program. I had to cut expenses as well and thus the program had to go, but I got the gist of what it was meant to teach me, and that is what matters. I now use what I learned from the program paired with MFP and I'm back to losing weight again.…
  • I am the biggest fan of her Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. I tried it when it was on demand for my cable company and have loved it ever since. When they took it off demand, I felt like it was worth buying. I do it twice a week due to me being so extremely sore the very next day. I like to use it in place of my weight…
  • I agree...farmers markets tend to be a very cheap alternative to the grocery stores and I find that the quality of my fruits and veggies are so much better. And they don't have the hormones and pesticides that can cause cancer. Also, if you don't mind frozen veggies, they save you a lot of money as well. Compared to canned…
  • Hey guys...sorry I didn't check in yesterday. I'm still the same weight. No shocker there.
  • Definitely can see results!!!!!!!!! Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • No change in weight for me this week...but then again, I ate probably way too many things that I shouldn't have. CW:242 GW for challenge:224
  • I wear my customized heart rate monitor and found that the machines are usually wrong. Mine has been off by as much as 200 calories once. And they are brand new machines specifically designed for the Navy. The only full proof way to know how many calories you are actually burning would be to get a heart rate monitor with a…
  • I usually reward myself every time I drop a pants size with 1 new outfit. Since buying a new wardrobe would be waaay too expensive, that will be my ultimate goal reward. I think that rewarding yourself with food defeats the purpose of trying to change your life. And food is the reason why most of us are in this situation…
  • And Ellie, don't pay attention to some of the people on this site. I have found that a lot of people are thread junkies...they spend more time on the threads putting people down instead of actually helping solve a problem and give good information. I don't know if it's a lack of self esteem that makes them feel that they…
  • Hey Ellie, I am so glad you posted this thread. I actually have been going through the same thing as well. I noticed it all started when I would start going to sleep later. I am the type of person who will drink a bottle of water all the way up until bedtime, so a lot of my waking at night was to use the bathroom. I never…
  • Wow!!!!! Good job!!!!!!! I know how it feels to struggle with your goals. I've done that my whole life. I've learned that to trick to succeeding is to keep pushing on. As hard as it is sometimes, you have to keep going. And you've done so well at it. You're such an inspiration. Thank you! :)
  • I think that by you posting this thread, you have already taken a large step in to helping yourself. I feel like if I share my problems with other people, that holds me to some sort of accountability. You know it is wrong, we know it is wrong, and eventually we will want to know if you succeeded on not letting it get the…
  • I would agree...remove them from the list. When they come back, if they have a valid excuse, then they can be placed back. But part of being in a group or on a team is accountability. If we can't count on our teammates, then what good are they to us? It's part of life. And if this were a real challenge in which we were…
  • Love this! And as far as diet sodas go, I limit myself to one a day and consume tons of water as well. I think moderation is always key. BTW...when certain chemicals are together, they react differently then they would by themselves. I hope we all have taken chemistry and should know this by now.
  • This week I didn't work out nearly as much due to a lot of ups and downs in my life. But I guess God is looking over my shoulder and wanted to make me smile for a change. :D I'm down 2lbs FINALLY!!!!!!! No weight loss for 3 weeks and now this. I'm super happy. SW: 244lbs GW: 224lbs CW: 242lbs Overall GW: 160lbs
  • I do believe those are grounds for divorce. lol
  • I had another friend (who is a Navy wife like me) taking online classes for medical transcription. MYCAA covered all her costs for books and tuition. Have you looked in to it? I have basically covered all my prerequisites for Dental Hygiene using it. It's $4000.00. https://aiportal.acc.af.mil/mycaa/default.aspx (btw...make…
  • All I had to do was read the topic of the study...low carb diets up cancer risks??? Is it seriously the diet, or is it the hormones and all of the junk our government pumps into what we eat? I honestly can't see how eating a diet low in saturated fat protein and lots of fiber rich veggies can give you cancer...we are no…
  • Weigh in's are killing me! :D Too bad we don't have measure-in's. I have stayed the same weight for the past 3 weeks, but I lost an inch on my waist and hips. So yay! SW for challenge: 239lbs CW for challenge: 244lbs Starting weight before MFP: 274lbs My goals this week are to tighten up on things. I want to work a ton…
  • Thank you guys for the motivation. I don't have an open diary b/c I halfway log at times and I don't want people to question me so much about it. I usually do great for 3 or so days and then trail off. I've been trying to do better. I finally got a chance to tape myself today. It's been 2 weeks and 2 days since my last…
  • Hey guys, I need some motivation. I promised I wouldn't let myself get discouraged over my weight not dropping off, but I am. I clearly understand that I have excess water weight from my strength training, but will it ever come off or am I just doomed to start from where I am now and consider that my weight from now on? :(
  • If you absolutely can't cut soda out, cut it to only 1 soda a day. When you buy a case, write on it with a permanent marker when you should finish it by if you only drink 1 a day. DO NOT let yourself buy another case until that date. So that will hold you to only consuming 1 a day. :)
  • Haha...people watching is fun, but I am now a heart rate monitor watcher. I'm constantly looking at my watch to check my heart rate and to make sure I'm within my range. I'm also usually wearing my mp3 player or watching the tv at the gym. :)
